To whom it may concern:

I am a graduate at the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelors of Science degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies concentrated in Mathematics. I am certified as a 4-8 Mathematics teacher and
my teaching aspirations have led me to your district. Your schools show to have high, quality standards
and prove to believe in an unbiased learning environment for all students. I have obtained knowledge
about your district through extensive research to find the right place where the schools structures lined
up with my own. The opportunity to become a Mathematics teacher in the state of Texas is a chance to
mentor students and help them achieve at high standards of excellence. Educators are given a unique
responsibility to impact students as well as help them achieve academically.
My education here at UTD has provided the knowledge containing forty-one hours of
mathematics essentials that provide deep content knowledge. The UTeach program has also given me a
unique experience in teaching the fundamentals of becoming an outstanding educator. UTeach allowed
for initial student fieldwork while also weighing heavy on the educational administrative details. I feel
that my mathematical background and UTeach fieldwork sets me at an advantage in understanding the
requirements and demands a teacher must abide by daily. Entering the field of education and having
been taught in the UTeach program, I am fully prepared to create a prosperous classroom pressing the
goal to help all students achieve high excellent standards. With the skills and experience from the UTD
UTeach program and my mathematical background, I feel that I will be able to benefit and further the
mathematics department at your schools. I will help to develop new and engaging lesson plan
opportunities that will accommodate for all students learning abilities, while maintaining a positive
rapport with the students.
I believe that as an educator, all students should be held at high standards of excellence and
that each child must be accommodated to allow them to reach that level of success. Educators must
inspire the students by building real confidence in not only the student, but also the students
knowledge. My classroom will uphold these standards and impact these young students lives to
encourage them to obtain bigger and better goals. I greatly appreciate the consideration as a new
Mathematics teacher in Richardson ISD and I look forward hearing back from you soon.

Sincerely,

Miranda Hopkins
