ABORTIONS

It is estimated that there are at least 115,000 abortions

every day throughout the world. No matter what you
believe about human life and when it actually begins, the
fact still remains that these are at least potential unborn
humans in development from the moment of fertilization
and their path to life in the physical world is cut off by
self-induced abortion.
As I was writing this book, I have attempted to provide the
reader with the real facts and ignore questionable content
as sources. For example, the famous photo of Samuel
Armas' hand reaching out from the womb of his mother
and supposedly gripping a finger is most likely a lot of
fabricated hype over nothing. The physician has insisted
that he pulled the arm out in order to perform the surgical
procedure and that there was no movement from the hand
itself since the fetus was under anesthesia. It is just this
kind of fanaticism ignoring the facts that is responsible for
much of the misinformation available out there today.
This book will examine the evidence and show that
according to God, the unborn child is a human being at the
moment of fertilization and that God foreknows the child
even before conception. It will discuss many pertinent
Bible passages as well as various aspects of fetal
development, suggesting from the biblical evidence the
most probable time when the spirit actually enters the
embryo. We will also take a brief look at when the child
feels pain and the position of the early church fathers on
abortion.
When we discuss the embryo or fetus in this book, it is
important to understand that we are basing the time of
development upon the real age after conception, not the
normal means of calculating pregnancy or gestation that is
based upon the last period and is usually off by at least
two weeks.
