A transformer ( transformare from Latin , reshape, transform ' ) is a electrical equipment that

transfers energy by inductive coupling between its winding circuits. A varying cirrentin the primary
winding creates a varying magneti flux in the transformer's core and thus a varying magnetic flux
through the secondary winding. his varying magnetic flux induces a varying electromotive force
(!"#) or voltage in the secondary winding. ransformers can be used to vary the relative voltage of
circuits or isolate them, or both.
$s the conventional transformer without charge we find an !"# flux , the
phase shift of the primary coil is best %& ', means that only reactive power is consumed.
(ith charges at the secondaries coils their !"#s flow bac) to the primary which then has an
impedence change and thus more current, means more power consumption. hen there is again a
new !"# flowing from the primary to the secondaries, without this new flux the voltage at the
charges would drop. he phase shift of the primary coil is now best & ', so active power is
consumed only.
.
*ome now + other arches with a lower reluctance to the core , so the induced !"#s by the
secondary coils flow no longer the primary coil but flow to each other , thus enabling the voltage of
loads. $f perfect, only reactive power is consumed by the primary , and only active power's
consumed by the secondaries.
