In this weeks Torah portion, Parshat Matot, the Jewish people need to defeat the

Midianites to gain quicker access to the land of Israel. Even though Moses knew this
battle would bring his imminent death, he still swiftly rallied the troops.

Today, IDF soldiers risk their lives to protect Israel. Their actions as individuals for the
sake of the broader community, echo Moses courage.

Many of us visiting, interning or volunteering in Israel this summer suddenly have to
decide to stay or leave in the midst of war. What would you do?
