Evaluation Letter
When I was given this assignment, I did not know what to write about. I started writing
about my first professional basketball game I ever attended. However, while I was writing it, I
realized that not much emotions were coming out. It was a great experience, but it just did not
sound very interesting. I deleted that paper and started writing about something that emotionally
affected me. I think that would be more interesting to read about. My writing process is just
continuing to type. I put all my ideas and thoughts on the paper, even if it makes no sense. I do
not structure my paper, correct any errors, or chronologize my ideas. After I am done writing, I
start editing. I usually edit my papers three times.
My strengths in writing this paper was that it was personal. I believe that writing a story
based on a true experience makes it easier to write. We can express more emotions. My
weakness is grasping the readers attention. Since this was a narrative, it was easier to grasp
attention, however, on formal papers, I find it difficult.
For the assignment requirements, I believe I deserve a 10/10. I followed the prompt
about writing a personal narrative. My paper is MLA format, and I have exceeded the required
word count. My paper also has a creative title. For content, I believe I deserve a 45/50. I added
dialogues in my narrative to make it more casual. I described how tournaments work. I used
first person and emphasized on my frustrations to make it more emotional. For organization, I
deserve a 30/30. I started from the beginning of high school and ended where I am today. I

chronologically explained each game from the first one to the last one. For mechanics, I deserve
a 9/10. I proofread my essay many times and tried to avoid any grammatical errors. I am
concerned about my writing style. I hope it does not sound too casual, and my sentence
structures are good as well.
