Learning Experience Sequence

Learning Experience Duration:
60 Minutes

- 15 Minutes: Educator is to introduce lesson content; explaining that students will be reflecting on the literacy unit.
Completion of the final column on the KWL chart will then commence, allowing the Educator to assess student
knowledge. During this time, Educator is to also reflect upon the Gen Board, Word Wall and the other visual
representation around the classroom environment, prompting whole class discussion.
- 10 Minutes: Next, students will be required to participate in a whole class brainstorm, focusing on students most
enjoyable segments of the unit. This will provide Educator with insight into the level of success of the unit and the
planning of future learning experiences; while also assisting students with the reflection process.
- 25 Minutes: Students will then be required to use a variety of artistic mediums (collage, paint, drawing, oil pastels,
chalk pastels, crayon etc.) to create an A3 poster that displays students favoured section/s or fascinating details
learned.
- 10 Minutes: Once students have completed their poster, they will be required to briefly discuss what they have
chosen, further enriching the overall learning experience through reflective practices.
