Epic Hero
Epic heroism refers to a brave, brilliant and noble character depicted in a poem that is
admired for great achievements in the community. These are people with etraordinary
strength that is depicted mostly through wars where they come in to salvage the whole
society against their prevailing enemies. Epic heroism is mostly created in poems when
describing people who affected grant events and made great achievements in their lifetime.
!n Homer"s !liad, #chilles is the perfect embodiment of the society as an $Epic Hero%. He is
our model and the societies" model too. He is a patriot who loves his community and is ready
to lay down his life for the good of the society at large. &or peaceful coeistence in the
community, #chilles decides to give out his lover, 'reisis as a ransom for the release of the
daughter to the priest. Though this decision was very hard for #chilles, as a warrior and
defender of the whole community, he decided to place his interests aside and build the

#chilles, as a warrior is a strong man who has defended his community against any attac-s
from their enemies. He depicts a number of strengths as an epic hero. #chilles puts his self.
interests in matters of the community. He decides to give out his lover for the sa-e of
harmony in the community. This is a great show of selflessness.
