Course Description: Algebra I is designed to develop algebraic skills and concepts necessary for all
future mathematics courses. The course introduces basic algebraic skills in a
logical order, including equations, inequalities, relations, functions, graphing,
systems of equations, radicals, factoring polynomials, rational equations,
probability and statistics, and quadratic functions. Emphasis is placed upon
real-life application and problem solving.

Grading Scale: Grades will be assigned in accordance with district policy. Daily assignments,
in-class projects, quizzes and tests will be used to determine grades.

A - 90%-100%, B 80%-89%, C 70%-79%, D 60%-69%, F 59% or less

Homework Policy: Students will be given daily assignments to enable skills practice. For each
day late, an assignment will drop ten percentage points. Assignments that are
four or more days late will be assigned no points.
