Katy Silva
Director of Human Resources
Cartwright School District #83 District Office
3401 N. 67th Avenue

Dear Ms. Katy Silva:
As a Elementary Education Major at Arizona State University I would like to fill the job
position being offered as a full time elementary school in the Cartwright School District that was
advertised on jobbings website.
Many advisors and other schools I have interned with have spoken very highly about
your school and urged me to apply for the position being offered.
I have been very interested in working with your school district after our conversation at
the job fair in May 2014. I am interested in helping with an improved reading program that we
had discussed at the job fair. I believe I am a confident, reliable and have a sense of enthusiasm
toward learning and I feel these qualities will lead myself to being a good part of the teaching
team and a vital role in the students success within this school district. Therefore, I believe I am
a vital candidate for this job offering.
While at Arizona State University I was very involved. As a college student I was
involved in the National Society of collegiate scholars. Being a national scholar taught me the
importance of being confident in every kind of work I do. I am dedicated to every assignment
that is passed my way and up fro any challenge brought to me.
Also, while attending Arizona State University I was an intern at Aguilar Elementary
School. I volunteered in the first and third grade classrooms. I learned how to interact with this
age group and the best way to communicate to the children. I learned how important it is to show
that you as a teacher are excited and get your students to be excited about learning so that the
students learn to stay focused and actively participate in class discussions. Having this internship
gave me a sense of what it means to be a teacher. The internship also taught me to the patience
and skills it takes to be a good teacher.
I am eager to speak with you and discuss the possibility of being apart of Cartwright's
School District I feel my experience in being a leader and experience as an intern in the
classroom will bring strong, positive qualities to the team. I will be in touch with you within a
week. If you need to contact me, feel free to do so at anytime. I can be reached at 480.773.2464
