Student/Teacher Contract

This contract, once signed by both parties (the student and the teacher) will hold the
student accountable for their actions, responses and behaviors. It expresses how students need
to act in order to be a successful leaner within the classroom as well an exceptionally behaved
individual within the school. If any part of this contract is broken by the student, it will cause for
a Disciplinary Report in which further action will be taken.
Student Behaviors
**Students will:
o Engage in learning.
o Complete assignments when asked.
o Follow instructions of teacher at all times.
o Keep their hands, feet and other objects to themselves.
o Do not put their hands on other students.
o Will not bully or provoke fighting.
o Will not argue, talk back or make excuses for behavior checks.
o Be the best possible version of themselves at all times.
o Follow this contract as well as any rules and expectations set forth by the teacher.
o Will not talk out of turn and only when called upon.
o Take responsibility for their actions, positive or negative.
o Do not touch, take or steal anyone elses property.
o Treat the teachers property as well as schools property with respect and care.
Classroom Behaviors
**Students will:
o Sit in SLANT position during lessons.
o Raise their hand and wait patiently and quietly until called upon.
o Participate within classroom learning and discussion.
o Complete any and all classroom assignments right away.
o Stay in their seat until given permission to leave or get up.
o Will not talk out of turn.
o Will not talk while the teacher is talking.
o Will not argue back with the teacher when given a direction of behavior changes. This is
not a time for debate or excuses.
o Students will not fight with their peers.
o Do not give the teacher or any other peers a negative or poor attitude.
o Will not ask questions or make comments on the assignment or the topic being learned
until the teacher asks.
o Will not raise hands during the teaching of the lesson.
o Will only ask questions or make comments that relate to what is being talked about or
learned.
o If student chooses to talk back, argue or give a poor attitude, a behavior clip will be
moved down as well as a phone call home to parents if behavior continues.
Hallway Behaviors
**Students will:
o Face and eyes forward.
o Arms will be crossed.
o Walk with a purpose.
o Will not talk.
o Students will stay between the silver line and the lockers at all times.
Specials Behaviors
**Students will:
o Listen to special or guest teacher.
o Will follow all of the rules and expectations set forth by the teacher and within
classroom.
o Will follow all classroom rules as they are applied to the specials.
Bathroom Behaviors
**Students will:
o Enter cafeteria along the silver line. March down and stop before the girls bathroom
door.
o Ladies will be asked to side step and then enter bathroom 5 at a time.
o Gentlemen will wrap it around on the silver line and enter the bathroom 5 at a time.
o Bathroom monitors will monitor the restrooms and report students as needed.
o There is NO talking during this time.
o Students are to use the restroom, wash hands, get a drink and immediately return to
the line.
o If students continue to talk, hang on property, kick open stalls, waste resources, play or
abuse soap, or stand there to waste time, bathroom privileges will be taken away.
Cafeteria Behaviors
**Students will:
o Enter the cafeteria along the silver line all the way to the lunch doors.
o Obtain their lunch and walk to their assigned table.
o Students will sit with Voice Level 1 while they eat their lunch.
o Students may not get up, unless given permission to do so from an authoritive
figure.
o Students will pick up after themselves and leave the cafeteria just as they found it.
o No trash will be left on floor.
o No throwing of food or any object.
o When teacher appears in cafeteria, students are to line up when the teacher raises
her hand or asks them to line up.
o Students may not approach teacher at this time. Questions and comments will wait
upon return to the classroom.
Homework
**Students will:
o Receive homework Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
o Check the Planner Board to ensure understanding of homework assignment.
o Be responsible for obtaining the homework from the teacher. Excuses of not knowing or
not obtaining homework will not be accepted.
o Turn in homework AS SOON AS THEY WALK THROUGH THE DOOR.
o If homework is not completed, recess and special times will be used to complete the
missing assignment.
o If 2 missing homework assignments are achieved, a Disciplinary Report will be written
up as well as a phone call home.
o If classroom assignments are not complete during the time allowed in class, it should
and will be taken home as homework.
Behavior Chart/Class Dojo
o If student behavior is positive, the student will move up the chart or be awarded points
in Class Dojo. If clipped off of the chart and onto Mrs. Ns shirt, or reach 10 points in
Class Dojo, the student will receive $5 in Sims Bucks. The scale for Class Dojo and points
is listed below:
10 Points- $5 Sims
9 Points- $3 Sims Bucks
8 points- $1 Sims Bucks
-1 points- 10 minutes from Special
-2 points- All of Special
-3 points- Disciplinary Report/Phone call home and all above
privileges lost.
By signing this contract, you as a student, agree to follow and behave according to the
expectations listed within this contract.
