Absences
You will have as many school days as you are absent to make up missed assignments.
YOU are responsible for obtaining and turning in all assigned work. My goal is to maintain a classroom website
where all resources can be found as well.
Contact Mrs. MacNeill via email or phone if you have any questions.

Late Work
Work must be turned in on the DAY and TIME assigned. Otherwise, the work is late.
Late work will not receive full credit. Students will lose points (based on my
discretion) every day an assignment is late.
Students may schedule different due dates for assignments with Mrs. MacNeill if
they have been absent or have other acceptable reasons to not submit work on time.

Cheating/Plagiarism
DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! Automatic zero and referred to the disciplinarian in charge. Please refer to the schools
strict Code of Student Content. Academic dishonesty (e.g. cheating, copying, and plagiarizing) will not be tolerated. You
will receive a 0 on any assignment that is deemed academically dishonest. All incidences or academic dishonesty will be
referred to both the principal and your parent/guardian.

Class Procedures
At the beginning of each class:
There will be a warm-up activity to complete which is posted on the front board. Sit down in YOUR seat and begin
the assignment silently and immediately. During some days or weeks the warm-ups will be collected and reviewed,
so make sure they are completed.
After warm up:
Instructions for the day will be given and the ENTIRE class will participate in the class activities.
At the end of each Class:
We will review key concepts of the day and review assignments for the day. Class ends only when Mrs. MacNeill
dismisses you, NOT WHEN THE BELL RINGS!

Cell Phones and Other Electronic Devices
Cellular phones, I-pods, radios, and other electronic devices should not be seen in class unless they are
being used to reinforce academic assignments. In most cases, teacher will try to notify the students ahead

of time if it is necessary to bring any of these items to class. The electronic devices are to be used at the TEACHERS
DISCRECTION.

Technology
There will be multiple opportunities and assignments throughout the school year that require the use of a computer or
the internet. Such examples include but are not limited to prezis, podcasts, research, current events and student
centered slideshows. Please let me know if you do not have access to either BEFORE the assignment is due. Other
arrangements such as using your local library, school library, or peers computer will then be arranged.
Extra Help
I am here to help you, but it is your job to ask for help. I am usually available before school on a daily basis or and any
other day and time by appointment.

6 Simple Classroom Rules for Success:

1. Be respectful: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
You earn respect by giving respect. For example, not talking
when others are talking would be showing respect.
2. Be prepared & try your BEST: That means arriving on time
with ALL materials needed for class (writing utensil, paper,
binder, books)
3. Raise your hand: To respond to questions, to take part in
class discussions, to get out of your seat for any reason, to
ask questions
4. Bathroom passes: You will get 5. Use them wisely! Once you
use them you have no more! You need to be in the classroom
for learning to take place!
5. Preserve a positive learning environment: Student
actions that interfere with teaching or learning in the
classroom will NOT be tolerated. Use class time to learn
science Please do not spend your time grooming, sleeping, talking, writing notes, playing cards,
listening to you Ipod, text-messaging friends, or doing work for other classes.
6. Take responsibility for your actions: If you are confronted about a rule infraction, own up to
it. Dont deny it, lie about it, or blame someone else. Take responsibility for missed assignments.
At the end of class, you are to clean up your work area. This includes desk clean, in line with rows, and
any trash on the floor or on desktop picked up and placed in the trashcan.

Note: All handbook rules will be enforced. Please read your handbook. Students that choose to break these rules, choose to have points taken away from
their learning readiness grade, and face the possibility of additional consequences.
