100% Peruvian Highland Wool
One 100 gram / 3.5 ounce skein

NEEDLES:
Size 3.00 mm (US 3) knitting needles
GAUGE:
24 stitches and 36 rows = 10cm/4 in moss stitch
NOTIONS:
One ! inch leather button

ABREVIATIONS:
K: knit
P: purl
K2tog: knit two stitches together
K2tog tbl: knit two stitches together through back loops
CLUTCH BODY
Cast on 80 stitches.
Row 1: *K2, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 2: *K2, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *P2, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 4: *P2, k2; rep from * to end.
Repeat rows 1-4 until you have 40 rows total.
CLUTCH FLAP
Row 41: Bind off 20 stitches; continue pattern next 60 stitches to end.
Row 42: Bind off 20 stitches; continue pattern next 40 stitches to end.
Continue pattern for 30 more rows.
(Make button hole)
Row 73: Continue pattern for18 stitches, k2tog, wind yarn twice around needle, k2tog, continue
pattern to end.
Row 74: Continue pattern for18 stitches, p1, p into first made stitch and k into the second, p1,
continue pattern to end.
Continue pattern for 4 more rows.
Bind off next row.
FINISHING
Connect the right and left sides of the clutch body to each other and to the back by folding and
sewing them with a tapestry needle. You will have seams along the bottom of the clutch and
down the middle of the front (this will be covered by the flap).
Sew one button on the clutch body front to match the position of the button hole on the flap.
With a tapestry needle, weave in loose yarn.
