This product contains about fifteen ingredients. I have no clue what most of them are
supposed to do. But I do have common sense, and common sense tells me horsetail
extract ain't gonna do SHIT for fat loss. If I want to neigh like horse, maybe! Kitchen Sink
Fat burners contain ingredients that are worthless for weight loss. All of these ingredients
are manufactured in China. But what happened here with this worthless fat burning
product is the sleaze ball supplement company CEO asked his ingredients supplier for a
line-up of raw materials that are magically supposed to have weight loss properties and
then selected fifteen of them, thinking, WOW, how awesome is MY product; it contains all
these "AWESOME ingredientswhat a dumbass!! Notice the proprietary blend. This is
just bullshit. Because the supplement company CEO also told his manufacturer to use the
least expensive ingredients the MOST and use the MOST expensive ingredients the least.
Because they have margins to meet. And they dont actually care if the product works,
they just care if their label looks good to fool you and what makes them the most amount
of money.
But let's not stop there because the supplement companies dont, so why should I? Take a
look at this supplement facts panelits a dozy of a kitchen sink supplement.

you about this ingredient in the above label because it's baffling the shit out of me.
Fursultiamine (Thaimin Tetrahydrofurfuryl Disulfide) WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!!!
Well, in this day and age, we've got Google, and it's easy to look up what something is.
So I did exactly that. Here are my search results: The first seven results are from chemical
companies websites so I skipped over those. What intrigued me were the eight results
from Wiki Answers.
TTFD (Thiamine Tetrahydrofurfuryl Disulfide) Gel is a topical medication for autism
treatments. It has also been referred to as skunk cream, because of the sulfur smell it
produces. It is a combination of thiamine (vitamin B1) and a sulfur based compound that
enhances detoxification. TTFD can be used along with DMPS/Glutathione drops, DMSA or
other chelators without adverse effects. It helps in chelating out mainly arsenic and
mercury. Normal dosing is 50 mg twice a day and is usually applied to the soles of the feet
to help contain the smell. This product is a form of vitamin B1 that is supposed to come in
a gel and applied to the feet. What it is doing in a fat burning supplement that you are
supposed to swallow? I have no clue! Let's take Kitchen Sink Fat Burners one more step.

This fat burning supplement takes the cake. It literally contains about 50 different
ingredients. So why does this fat burning supplement NEED to contain 50 ingredients?
Because NONE of them work. If one of these ingredients actually did work, like ephedra,
there would be no reason to have over 50 ingredients. It's all a ploy to fool you into
thinking that because it contains so many ingredients, it must be effective. But instead of
being effective, it's actually very dangerous, and it could cost you your life. Let me give
an example of a recent kitchen sink dietary supplement that almost cost people their lives.
I feel this supplement company is one of the best in terms of trying to fool the customer
into thinking their product contains real drugs.

As I explained earlier, kitchen sink fat burning supplements are the most dangerous kind to
buy. Let me give you my reasons:
Reason #1. If you have a bad reaction to the supplement, you dont know why.
What happens if you take the product and you have some sort of allergic reaction?
When you take these products you have no idea how your body is going to react to the
product. And then if your body does react badly to the product, you do not know why. Was
it a single ingredient that you were allergic to, or was it just the combination? From all the
ingredients in this product youll never know.
Reason #2. No research or trial period.
Do you think a supplement company that makes a kitchen sink supplement actually takes
the time to see if their combination of ingredients is safe and that one doesnt interact
negatively with another? NOT!!
The supplement company that makes the product does not do any trials before releasing
the product to see if their kitchen sink fat burner is dangerous because of a certain
combination of ingredients. They simply tell their contract packager they want all of these
ingredients stuffed in their capsules
Reason #3. Hidden dangerous ingredients
Supplement companies are such scumbags that they will take a dangerous ingredient, or
even a banned ingredient, and hide it in the product. With the examples above, 99% of
people are not going to go over the supplement facts panel meticulously. So the
supplement companies know this, and they secretly put the dangerous ingredient in the fat
burner hoping that nobody sees it, and then when the product does work for a few people,
the supplement company CEO will really get an ego boost.
Reason #4. Chinese all the way, hey, hey!!
All the crazy ingredients you see in kitchen sink fat burners are made in China. Its a real
shame but it's totally true. Made in China! And you know as well as I do that the Chinese
are NOT known for their quality products. Why do you think cars are not made in China?
Because lives are at stake, thats why. Chinese manufacturing is so fucked up, it's not
even funny. Anyone have a dog or cat that died or got really sick because they fed what
they thought was good quality dog or cat food to their dog or cat, but then found out the
ingredients that these so-called quality pet food manufacturers were using, they were
getting from China? Heres another example. I have this big box tool store by my house.

It's about 10,000 square feetpretty big for a tool store. It's called something like, Lake
Freight. Nice American-sounding name. Well, in this store is all sorts of tools and
machineryanything you could want. And cheap too, cheaper than Home Depot or
Lowes by far. But the funny thing is that everything is the cheapest, suckiest, Chinese-
made tools you can imagine. I once bought a pair of pliers from this place. I was using
them and they literally broke in half. I've got tools that my grandfather gave mewhich
must be over 60 years oldthat are still in great shape. So these kitchen sink
supplements are nothing but cheap Chinese-made ingredients. You can't trust them one
bit; they suck, and their quality sucks. And there you are, consuming about 50 of these
ingredients all at once.
Back in the beginning of 2009, a very popular dietary supplement kitchen sink fat burner
started killing people. Here is the FDA press release:

FDA Warns Consumers to Stop Using Hydroxycut Products
Dietary Supplements Linked to One Death; Pose Risk of Liver Injury
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers to immediately stop using
Hydroxycut products by Lovate Health Sciences Inc., of Oakville, Ontario and distributed
by Lovate Health Sciences USA Inc. of Blasdell, NY. Some Hydroxycut products are
associated with a number of serious liver injuries. Lovate has agreed to recall Hydroxycut
products from the market.
The FDA has received 23 reports of serious health problems ranging from jaundice and
elevated liver enzymes, an indicator of potential liver injury, to liver damage requiring liver
transplant. One death due to liver failure has been reported to the FDA. Other health
problems reported include seizures, cardiovascular disorders, and rhabdomyolysis, a type
of muscle damage that can lead to other serious health problems such as kidney failure.
Liver injury, although rare, was reported by patients at the doses of Hydroxycut
recommended on the bottle. Symptoms of liver injury include jaundice (yellowing of the
skin or whites of the eyes) and brown urine. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting,
light-colored stools, excessive fatigue, weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, itching, and
loss of appetite.

The FDA urges consumers to discontinue use of Hydroxycut products in order to avoid any
undue risk. Adverse events are rare, but exist. "Consumers should consult a physician or
other health care professional if they are experiencing symptoms possibly associated with
these products," said Linda Katz, M.D., interim chief medical officer of the FDAs Center for
Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
Hydroxycut products are dietary supplements that are marketed for weight-loss, as fat
burners, as energy-enhancers, as low carb diet aids, and for water loss under the Lovate
and MuscleTech brand names. The list of products being recalled by Lovate currently
includes:
Hydroxycut Regular Rapid Release Caplets
Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Rapid Release Caplets
Hydroxycut Hardcore Liquid Caplets
Hydroxycut Max Liquid Caplets
Hydroxycut Regular Drink Packets
Hydroxycut Caffeine-Free Drink Packets
Hydroxycut Hardcore Drink Packets (Ignition Stix)
Hydroxycut Max Drink Packets
Hydroxycut Liquid Shots
Hydroxycut Hardcore RTDs (Ready-to-Drink)
Hydroxycut Max Aqua Shed
Hydroxycut 24
Hydroxycut Carb Control
Hydroxycut Natural
Although the FDA has not received reports of serious liver-related adverse reactions for all
Hydroxycut products, Lovate has agreed to recall all the products listed above. Hydroxycut
Cleanse and Hoodia products are not affected by the recall. Consumers who have any of
the products involved in the recall are advised to stop using them and to return them to the
place of purchase. The agency has not yet determined which ingredients, dosages, or
other health-related factors may be associated with risks related to these Hydroxycut
products. The products contain a variety of ingredients and herbal extracts.
Health care professionals and consumers are encouraged to report serious adverse
events (side effects) or product quality problems with the use of these products to the
FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online, by regular mail, fax or phone.

Notice the next to the last paragraph where it says, The agency has not yet determined
which ingredients, dosages, or other health-related factors may be associated with risks
related to these products." Funny, because if you ever see this company's ad for these
products, blanketed in the muscle magazines and female health magazines, you'll see
pictures of scientists holding up vials of liquids and all sort of graphics and data. Like
they're working in some sort of high tech university lab or pharmaceutical company. Of
course, it's all staged. Strange how they can't figure out the who, what, where, how, or
which way, what the fuck is in this product that is killing people. The answer is that they will
never know. Why? Because it contains so many ingredients from China that they couldnt
trace them back to the manufacturer in East Chin Chow Chew Providence that made
them. Phone calls placed to the factory in China were never returned.
The bottom line is: Stay away from Kitchen Sink Fat Burners. They are just screaming
out to you. WE DONT WORK!! WE SUCK ASS!! AND OUR OWNER IS NOTHING
MORE THAN A LOSER, NO BRAIN!!
What's Left?
Kitchen Sink Supplements still exist today. The recent killing of people and of many people
having liver failure from using these products didnt seem to persuade the supplement
companies' CEOs from making them. In fact, this recent recall back in May of 2009 did
absolutely nothing to hurt this company's credibility. According to the most prominent
online supplement retail site, they are up for several prestigious Supplement Awards.
The Supplements Awards" is a wanna-be Academy Awards, but for dietary supplements.
Every year they hold the awards at the Arnold Classic and give out trophies. Its a joke.
Take a look I guess the idiots that made up the supplement awards overlooked the
fact that this company, not too long ago, was responsible for someones death. As you
can see, in the supplement industry, shit like that doesnt matterkilling people and
causing people to need liver transplants. It's all about selling product and marketing. Dont
put it past them that these are all PAID-for-nominees. Because who could honestly
nominate a supplement made by a company that created a product in the very recent past
that was recalled by the FDA because it was so dangerous.
The supplement company was also nominated for "Brand of the Year" and the most idiotic,
"Fat Burner of the Year." I guess if you're dead, you would lose a ton of weight!! As you
can see, the Supplement Awards is nothing but a scam. These awards have nothing to do
with quality and all to do with getting you to take money out of your wallet and hand it over
to them. Thus, Kitchen Sink Supplements not only still exist today but are praised by the

dealers that are pushing them as high quality effective products. But they are nothing more
than dangerous, ineffective trash.
Ineffective as they may be, the supplement companies are clever enough to make you
feel like these products are working. Behold the most popular drug in America finding its
way into the fat burning supplement CAFFEINE!!
Caffeine
Everyone knows what caffeine is. I would guestimate that its a multi-billion dollar industry.
It's most commonly associated with coffee. I dont drink coffee; I never liked the taste of
the stuff. Im super happy that I dont drink coffee either. If I DID like coffee, I would be one
of those people who needed their cup of coffee in the morning. I see these people lined
up in front of Starbucks like prisoners waiting for their daily bowl of soup. I remember one
time when I was at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. Its the biggest fitness show in
the world. I think over 250,000 people attend the event now. Of course, a lot of these
people are bodybuilders and fitness women. I had a booth in the exposition hall where I
was exhibiting my products, and on the way to the entrance of the exhibition hall, right
before the show opened many vendors would be selling various foods, and of course,
there was a Starbucks. The line was freakin', about 100 people deep, people looking all
tired and horrible, willing to wait over 30 minutes for a stupid cup of coffee. And most of
these people waiting in line were women who worked for the supplement companies that
were selling their bogus fat burning products. These people are addicts, really needing
that cup of coffee. Women, in particular women who are into being healthy, are more likely
to be addicted to caffeine, but I will get to that later in this book.
I chuckled at the time, but now when I look at it, it's pretty obvious of the power of caffeine.
If you're one of those people who is fat and overweight and feel you have no energy all the
time, ask yourself if you're one of those people who needs their cup of coffee in the
morning. If you are, then you got yourself an addiction.
Coffee, mainly because it contains caffeine, is NOT healthy for you. Caffeine is an
amphetamine that gets your heart racing faster. And anything that has a reaction on your
heart is not good for you. Use your common sense. Caffeine is also not good for you
because it raises cortisol levels. Cortisol is a catabolic hormone. Catabolic hormones are
muscle wasting, which is the worst thing you can do if you want to lose weight. And if you
are a woman, it's doubly worse because you are genetically programmed to have a difficult
time building up muscle mass. The first thing Ill tell women who want to lose weight is get
off the amphetamines, whether they are in the form of coffee, energy drinks, or fat loss

products. But of course, the people that I am giving advice to will tell me that they need the
aforementioned products to give them energy to work out. Energy to work out? Are you
serious? Does anyone really hear how dumb this sounds? So you're telling me that 30
years ago before all of these energy products were invented, people couldnt work out.
Uh, no. People relied on a good night's sleep and healthy eating to give themselves the
energy to work outno caffeine. So where did people get this idea that they needed
energy to work out? You guessed it the sleaze ball weight loss companies.
After all the so-called effective fat burning ingredients were taken off the shelves by the
FDA, mainly ephedra, the supplement companies had to scramble to find a replacement.
Caffeine was an easy choice. It's legal; one can easily feel its effects, and most
importantly, it's cheap. Supplement companies started to put caffeine in all their weight
loss products. Not because of the weight loss effects, because caffeine has ZERO effect
on weight loss. If it did you would see a lot more people in shape walking around. Think
about it. You got people drinking three to four cups of coffee a day and they're still fat. Yet
the ads in the supplement magazines are promoting products with caffeine in them as
ingredients to get you ripped.
The supplement companies started to use caffeine because you can feel it. And thats
probably THE most important factor when making a supplementMAKE A PRODUCT
THAT YOU CAN FEEL! Why? Because if the user can feel it, he or she thinks it's
working. Talk to anyone who has taken a fat burner, or now, these pre-workout drinks, and
theyll tell you, Man, that product really works because I was sweating like crazy after I
used it, or it really made me hyper or it really game me a pump. People want products
that they can feel. If they can't feel it working, they may think it's not working. This idea
might be totally idiotic, but it's totally true.
I would say over 80% of fat burning products contain caffeine. Even though caffeine does
nothing for weight loss, it's for the effect. I went to a popular internet seller of supplement
and found their #1 selling product. I'm not going to say what it is but I'm going to scrutinize
it.

Here are the ingredients:
Notice it contains 200 mg of caffeine or equal to about two cups of coffee. If you're not a
coffee drinker like myself, and you take this product, you are going to be bouncing off the
walls, sweating, jittery, your heart will be racing, and youll be talking a mile a minute. Now
take a look at the deceptive marketing jargon associated with this product
Yohimbine HCL: Yohimbine is just right for the thermogenetic concoction in Lipo-6 to help
induce lipolysis (fat burning) without the side effects from other fat burners (i.e. increased
heart rate, increased blood pressure, anxiety). In particular, Yohimbine induces fat
breakdown where fat stores prevail as problem areas. Furthermore, yohimbine induces
excitatory effects, improving elements of cognitive function, primarily alertness.
Caffeine Anhydrous USP: Caffeine provides a variety of enhancements for the
neuromuscular system; including increases in secretion of catecholamines and calcium
release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Caffeine, with its capacity to optimize skeletal
muscle contraction from augmented neuromuscular transmission, has demonstrated its
ability to enhance strength gains and increase work volume. While allowing you to work
harder, caffeine also boosts your metabolism, assisting in body fat loss while recruiting
lean body mass. Caffeine also improves mental alertness and mood function, optimizing
your level of focus through your workouts or fatigue-battling tasks. By providing caffeine in
its anhydrous form, you're getting a more pure, synthetic form for maximal potency.
Take a look at what they say about yohimbine. They tout it as an effective fat burner, but
more importantly, without the side effects: increased heart rate, increased blood pressure,

and anxiety). But, in the very next paragraph they promote caffeine that is highly effective
at increasing blood pressure, heart rate and anxiety! How dumb is this supplement
company? Secondly, they use the old, throw in the scientific mumbo jumbo so nobody
can understand it but it seems really high tech trick. Can anyone explain to me what
increases secretion of catecholamines and calcium release from sarcoplasmic reticulum
means? I can't, but I sure know how to Google shit. Thats what's great about todays
day of the internet. You can easily find out what anything is, who anyone is, and much
more. The internet is a wealth of information at your fingertips. This idiotic supplement
company uses this trick because of two reasons. One, because it makes it seem that
their product is really high tech and scientific to the potential buyer. It makes the buyer
think, Woooooow, look what they say about this product; I dont understand a word of it,
but whatever it is, it sure sounds cool!! And two, they add it in the hopes that nobody is
REALLY going to try to figure out what "increases secretion of catecholamines and
calcium release from sarcoplasmic reticulum means?
Lets Google, shall we?
First, lets find out what catecholamines are. An easy search reveals that it is a catabolic
hormone release when the body is stressed, in particular during fight or flight situations.
So like I mentioned before, caffeine releases cortisol, a catabolic hormone; in this case the
hormone is catecholamines. This hormone is a muscle-wasting product. Great, Im now
taking a product that is going to break down my muscle mass. Anyone out there want to
lose muscle, please raise your hands? For those of you with your hands raised, here start
taking this product..hahaha!!
Okay, so all jokes aside, we now know what catecholamines are; they are catabolic
hormones. Looking back at their marketing claim that we demystified, they state that their
highly effective fat burner essentially releases a muscle wasting hormone. Thanks,
assholes!
Next, they find it important to tell you where this muscle wasting hormone is being
released from. Personally, at this point I could care less where my body is getting its
catabolic hormone from, but lets find out. What is sarcoplasmic reticulum?
Ahh, here it is. (I feel like Im back in my science class in high school, i.e. learning about
shit that will have absolutely no relevance or worth in the future and that you forget the
very next day after the test. LOL!)

Each skeletal muscle fiber has many bundles of myofilaments. Each bundle is called a
myofibril. The myofilaments of a myofibril are arranged in a regular fashion so that their
ends are all lined up. This is what gives the muscle its striated appearance. The contractile
units of the cells are called sarcomeres. The sarcoplasmic reticulum is a specialized
endoplasmic reticulum that stores calcium ions needed for muscle contraction.
Okaywell, you now have a good understanding of what this sentence means that the
supplement company selling this product tried to make sound really important and
technical. It means that a catabolic hormone is being released from the muscle. I wonder
if these idiots that sell this product actually took the time to do what I just did. If they did, do
you think they would have really thought that muscle wasting is good? Noooo, they are
just concerned with giving the person the jitters, and making them feel that the supplement
is working.

Lets take a look at another fat burner. This one is actually a kitchen sink fat burner.
Look at the first part of their supplement facts panel at their thermogenic complex. It
contains an unknown amount of seven different ingredients for a total of 750 mg. Mostly
likely it contains well over 200 mg of caffeine. Not only that, but it contains guarana,
another amphetamine. So once again, here you have a product that is advertised to get
your ripped, but at the same time it releases a muscle-wasting hormone.
And for shits and giggles, lets look at one final product.

muscle catabolizer too. By the way, something caught my attention as I was looking at
this product: toothed clubmoss?? What the fuck is that?! Google TIME!!
I Googled it and couldnt find much. But what I did find was that toothed clubmoss is a
Chinese herb that was ineffectively shown to support Alzheimer's disease and other
memory loss diseases. What it's doing in a fat burning product is beyond me.
Avoid Caffeine
Caffeine is widely used today in most all weight loss products. I would guestimate that
most fat burners being sold today contain caffeine. And a lot of times you dont even know
the product contains caffeine because it's either hidden in the ingredients or the
supplement company will name it something else. And yes, a lot of times they will not
even list it in the ingredients but include it in the product.
Here is the chemical name for caffeine: 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine
Supplement companies will often use this to make their fat burner sound more scientific
than it already is.
The bottom line is, do not use caffeine. It will NOT help you lose weight. It will only hinder
your weight loss potential and even more detrimental, it will decrease your muscle mass.
The fact of the matter is that the more muscle mass you have on your body, the EASIER it
is for you to lose body fat. The less muscle mass you have on your body, the harder it is to
lose body fat. Why do you think women who lack muscle mass have such a hard time
losing weight? And why is it that women who look toned and tight have low body fat?
Later in this book I will explain muscle and weight loss. But in the meantime, avoid
caffeine, whether it comes from natural food source like coffee or even worse, dietary
supplements.
Last but not least, 1,3 Dimethylamylamine A.K.A. DMAA
A couple years ago a product came out called a pre-workout supplement. It came in a little
jar and you scooped out about 10 grams worth of powder. Its purpose was to get you
ready for your workout. Getting ready to the supplement company that was selling it
really meant getting you high for your workout by coercing you into taking their product,
which contains a stimulant. This stimulant is 1,3 Dimethylamylamine, or DMAA for short.
The supplement company that started using this product purchased it from China, of
course, and put on its label that it came from a geranium plant. I guess if people read the

back of the bottle and saw geranium they would assume that it is natural. Just another
deceitful tactic by these assholes.
I did a copy and paste job off a news website, www.courthousenews.com in November,
2011, about a supplement company being sued over their DMAA supplement. This is
what I found, and it sums up DMAA very well.
"DMAA was patented by Eli Lilly & Company in 1944 and later marketed, beginning in
1971, under the trademark 'Forthane' for use as a nasal decongestant and as a treatment
for hypertrophied or hyperplasic oral tissues. DMAA is a vasoconstrictor and central
nervous system stimulant which is on the World Anti-Doping Agency ('WADA') and Major
League Baseball ('MLB') lists of banned substances. The sale of DMAA is totally prohibited
in Canada and New Zealand. Recently, DMAA has gained popularity with young people as
a designer drug used in 'party pills.'
"BPI failed to inform consumers that DMAA is a dangerous central nervous system
stimulant which is banned by WADA, MLB, Canada and New Zealand, and that using the
products can cause consumers to test positive for an illegal substance and/or
amphetamine use.
"In addition, though DMAA is claimed to be an extract of geranium oil, most of the
DMAA contained in products currently on the market it wholly 'synthetic' DMAA, completely
manufactured in laboratories, and is not derived from the geranium plant in any way
whatsoever. In fact, plaintiffs are informed and believe and on that basis allege that the
DMAA in BPI's products is purely synthetic. Significantly, recent studies have also
concluded that there is no DMAA whatsoever in geranium oil, that DMAA is not extracted
from geranium oil, and that all DMAA on the market is synthetic. Because DMAA is a
wholly synthetic substance, it is not a 'dietary ingredient,' and BPI's products are not
'dietary supplements' as those concepts are defined by applicable regulations promulgated
by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration."
Low and behold, the product took off and started selling like hot cakes. It was not long
before other supplement companies were also coming out with their own little jars of pre-
workout supplements, many of them containing DMAA. Remember, the supplement
industry is filled with nothing but non-original copy cats, whose supplements are fad
based. Forget the fact that any stimulant like caffeine, ephedra, or DMAA releases cortisol
in the body which is a catabolic (muscle wasting) hormone and is the direct opposite of
what you want when trying to build muscle and lose body fat. It wasnt long before the
supplement companies started to use DMAA in their so-called fat burning supplements
and not just their pre-workout supplements.

Fast forward to months later and as more and more people take it, and as more and more
greedy, scumbag, copycat supplement companies include DMAA in their supplements, the
chances grow stronger and stronger that someone is going to get seriously ill or someone
is going to die from taking these supplements. BINGO! It finally happened.
From an article in the Nutrition Business Journal in December 2011:
DMAA linked to death of two U.S. soldiers, massive recall ensues
After toxicology tests on two U.S. soldiers who died of cardiac arrest turned up traces of
DMAA, the military ordered a recall of Jack3d and other DMAA-containing products in all
military exchanges worldwide. Could a geranium oil ban be far behind?
The U.S. Army is investigating the deaths of two U.S. soldiers possibly linked to the
popular pre-workout supplement Jack3d from USPlabs. Toxicology tests performed on the
bodies revealed the presence of DMAA (1,3 dimethylamylamine) in their blood, according
to an article in Stars and Stripes. DMAAaka methylhexaneamine (MHA); aka geranium
oil/stem/extractis the infamous, supposedly natural, active ingredient in Jack3d, and has
been linked to possible risk of liver damage and heart failure.
The two soldiers were stationed on a base in the southwestern United States. Both died of
cardiac arrestone during a PT run this summer, and the other this fall after collapsing
and being hospitalized for a month.
The Army initiated a safety review after compiling records of several other DMAA users
reporting health problems such as kidney and liver failure, seizures, loss of
consciousness, heat injury and muscle breakdown during exertion and rapid heartbeat,
Army spokesperson Maria Tolleson told Stars and Stripes.
DMAA recall first of its kind
The string of related incidents prompted the military to pull all DMAA-containing products
from the shelves of GNC shops inside all Army and Airforce Exchange Service and Navy
Exchange stores worldwide. The recall is the first of its kind in the United States, as the
U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) still considers DMAA to be a dietary supplement
ingredient and a natural component of geranium stems. Economics suggest otherwise,
howeverindustry knowledge has it that the amount of DMAA purportedly produced from
geraniums worldwide would increase retail prices as much as twentyfold.

Canada chooses to identify the substance as a drug. In June 2011, Health Canada issued
a recall of 1MR, a pre-workout blend from BPI, for containing "DMAA, which is considered
a drug substance under FDR [Canadian Food and Drugs Act and Regulations], according
to its recall listings. The Health Canada decision remains relatively obscure, but this
massive recall by the U.S. Military is apt to finally push the geranium debacle into the
consumer spotlight. Not only are DMAA products popular among bodybuilders and on
military bases, but high school athletes are keen on pre-workout products as well.
And here is the lawsuit:
http://www.courthousenews.com/2011/12/20/DietSuppLead.pdf
Currently, as I write this, DMAA is still being sold in health food stores and vitamin shops.
Does it help you lose fat? NO. Does it help you retain fat because its promotion of cortisol
release in the body? YES! It is another scam and worthless product? YES. DMAA is just
another ingredient in the amphetamine class that is made so that the user of the products
feels something. And as I said in the beginning of this book, if the consumer feels the
supplement, they think that it is working. I predict by the end of 2012, that DMAA will be
illegal to use in dietary supplements, and the supplement companies whose flagship
products contained DMAA will soon be out of business. Hopefully, the owners of these
companies will face huge fines and even jail time.
Talk about getting caught with your pants down.

In conclusion, the most popular fat burners sold in past history were either dangerous for
the user or completely counterproductive. The manufacturers making these products and
the marketing companies selling them can care less about safety and the health of their
buyers; they care more about profits. Don't buy them; don't use them; and most of all,
don't be fooled by their slick marketing techniques. Trust me, these assholes are racking
their brains night and day to figure out a way to fool you into buying their product and how
they can dance around FDA regulations without getting caught. You have to teach yourself
how to have the will power to resist their powerful marketing and advertisements.

ow that we know the evils of the dietary supplement industry, lets discuss the next
evil: weight loss diets. If you are the person who has always tried to lose weight,
chances are you have been on one diet or another. If I remember correctly, the
first weight loss diet per se was back in the 1980s when the low fat craze struck. Somehow
or another, some marketing person thought about making foods and labeling them low fat.
And then by doing so it would give people the idea, Eat something that has zero fat or low
fat, and I wont get fat!! After that, all hell broke loose, and today because of the internet,
you can find thousands upon thousands of weight loss diets. Some say eat this, some say
eat that. Some are overly complicated, and some are overly simple. Some are formulated
by a housewife and some are formulated by a doctor. Whoever formulated the particular
weight loss diet, it doesn't matter; the diets are just meant to take your money for
something that you absolutely do not need to buy.
Over the decades the weight-loss industry has driven the marketing scheme to the
consumer that weight loss diets are needed to lose weight. That they somehow can
magically take off tons of unwanted pounds and give us the elusive six pack abs that we
have failed to accomplish. They tell us that they are developed by some sort of doctor or
famous person. They show us before and after pictures of people who have been on
these diets and tell us how great they work. They have famous people or doctors promote
these diets to give them more credibility. All of these marketing techniques are meant to
really act as a disguise, a song and dance to steer you away from the simple fact of losing
weight.
It DOESNT matter WHAT you eat. You can eat TWINKIES if you want toall day long
and lose weight. As a matter of fact someone actually did that.
From www.huffingtonpost.com:
An overweight nutrition professor at Kansas State University put himself on a
predominantly snack food dietwith Twinkies prominentfor two months. He lost 27
pounds and lowered his body mass index (BMI) from nearly 29 to just under 25from
almost obese to normal.
Compounding this ostensible assault on conventional nutrition wisdom were the effects of
the diet on the professor's metabolic profile. His LDL cholesterol and triglycerides went
down, while protective HDL cholesterol went up.

This study done at Kansas State University proves one thing that these scam artists that
conjure up weight loss diets know: less calories taken in and more calories used equals
weight loss. Weight loss diets are nothing more than this, but they are cloaked with smoke
and mirrors with the objective of getting your money. Do not be fooled by the special foods
these diets say you have to eat; do not be fooled by the special meals they say you need
to prepare. There is nothing special about weight loss diets, in fact, they do more harm
than good. Why? Because they force you to follow something that you typically do not do
and will not continue to do day after day, month after month, and year after year. Everyone
has a different lifestyle and a different degree of will power, and trying to adjust to some
diet created by some self-proclaimed expert that doesn't fit your life style is bound to fail.
The creators of weight loss diets know that typically, overweight people have little or no will
power. I am going to make an assumption. I don't have scientific evidenceits a matter of
my opinion. I warned you in the beginning of this book that you might be offended by some
of my words, and this is the part. Losing weight is all about will power, nothing more,
nothing less. Overweight people have zero will power. I Googled willpower and got this.
Will power is the inner strength to make decisions, take action and handle and execute
any aim or task, regardless of inner resistance, discomfort or difficulty. It is inner firmness,
decisiveness, determination, resolution, persistence and the power of pushing towards any
goal.
Now think about the above and relate it to food. Its clear now, isn't it?
Weight loss diet creators know this, too, and this is the key to success of weight loss diets
and the products that are sold in conjunction with them.
Not only is the success of the weight-loss industry based on the larger picture of people
not having will power, but also on the longevity of the under-will-powered people to follow
their particular diet scheme. This longevity equates to more sales for the weight loss diet
creators. For example, in the form of the overweight people buying more of their food from
those companies that sell those "diet" meals. The key to the fake success of a weight loss
diet is the fact that they tell you exactly what to do. Almost like a teacher looking over you
as you eat throughout your day, waiting to smack you hand with a ruler as you go to reach
for that snack. Like a person ready to say, Shame, shame, shame; put that Oreo down!!
Weight loss diets give you exactly the foods that you need to eat. And by giving you
exactly what to eat, this helps control what you're stuffing in your mouth. And by
controlling what you stuff into your mouth, that previously, you typically couldn't because
you lacked the will power. NOW, through the author of the diet, you have something that is

telling you what and when to put food into your mouth, and hence you lose weight. But like
I said previously, this is nothing special and not needed at all. It simply sets rules for the
person who doesn't have the will power to control themselves and what they are putting in
their mouths. Weight loss diets are just sets of rules, simple or complicated, that
collectively throughout the day make you consume a reduced calorie diet, disguised as
secret formulas and regimes. Wow, genius!!
Now, remember how I told you I didn't have anything to sell you in the book, or no agenda.
I lied; Im here now to tell you about the super-duper, deluxe Al Roger's diet. For only
$49.99, you can have all my secrets to losing weight. The secret foods that burn fat, the
secret timing on how to trigger fat loss, the secret foods to avoid that put on body fat more
than regular food, and the precise mineral and vitamin supplements that trigger your body
to create a fat burning furnace. Hahahaha, fooled you! See how good I am; I sounded like
those idiots and authors of those weight loss diets.
Okay. Here is my super-duper, deluxe SECRET diet:
Reduce your calories.
All of these diets don't matter a diddly's worth. I scoured the internet and found a bunch of
scams; eh hem, I mean highly scientific, peer-reviewed, expertly created, and full of
bullshit diets. Now keep something in mind as your eyes scroll down the list of all of these
diets (and remember this is only a very small amount of diets that are being sold). There
are so many diets because none of them work. And, as the overweight person tries one
diet and fails, they move on to the next diet, and that also fails. Weight loss diet authors
know this, and they know sooner or later someone is going to try their diet. It seems every
month a new diet comes out, proclaiming that it is the next best thing. When really it's just
another scam or fad. Im leaning more toward fad.
Weight loss diets thrive on fad (An intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something,
esp. one that is short-lived; a craze.) Being a fad is what drives the sales of the particular
diet. The marketing of the weight loss diet is unleashed into the market place and creates
a buzz. One over-weight person is suckered into buying it, loses weight because of the
regimented reduced calorie diet, and then brags to all of her neighbors that she lost weight
using this particular diet. Hence, the beginnings of the fad diet. More and more
overweight people buy it, but then after a while its followers can no longer follow its
regiment and they get fat again. After that the fad diets' flame is extinguished. Next, it
makes room for a new fad diet to be born, and that same person who bought the previous
fad diet initially will buy into this new fad diet. The cycle goes on and on and on.

looks like it was made in a factory, dont eat it." Simple as that. You follow that rule and
pump the iron you are going to look good and lose weight. But there is a big problem with
my advice, and what the authors of Weight loss diets know that overweight people do not
have: WILL POWER. You cannot buy will power. Losing weight and having low body fat is
all about will power and nothing else. The hardest thing to do is refuse to eat that food that
you love. While everyone else is eating that food you love, you have to say no. It smells so
good; your mouth is watering; your stomach is rumbling, and if you have the ability to
make yourself NOT eat that piece of food, then you've got some good will power and you
have a chance of being successful at losing weight. But if you have no will power, you can
be sure that you're not going to lose weight. (I will talk more about will power in a later
chapter.)

every single magazine cover you see is the blatant suggestions that the average person
can look like the people on these magazine covers. In the two magazine covers above, the
two guys obviously take massive amounts of steroids. The woman in the black bikini is a
professional figure competitor. Of course, she has genetics to die for; next, she knows how
to get herself in shape. Finally, each one of these images on the covers of these

magazines was taken by a professional photographer, with professional equipment and
professional editing software. Are these images real? Yes, they are, but they are edited to
make each person look their best. And I would bet my house that they were digitally
touched up to some degree.
Now, once you buy the magazine and open it, the real selling begins. You are bombarded
with advertisement after advertisement. I would say the first 20 to 40 pages of the
magazines are advertisements. Nothing informative, nothing educational, just sell, sell,
sell. Because remember, it's all about the money for the magazines. I dont advertise my
company in magazines, but the last time I checked, advertising in a magazine can cost
anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 for a full page. Depending on where you want the ad.
The first page, of course, is the most expensive. The back cover is expensive, too. The
magazines that are really popular charge up to $100,000 for a front cover ad. So now you
can see why the magazines put so many pages of advertising in their magazines. The
amount of money they make off the advertisements is sick. Most of the ads in the above
type magazines are selling dietary supplements. Most are weight loss supplements, after
that bodybuilding supplements (test boosters, nitric oxide supplements, and kitchen sink
supplements).
The advertisements continue to dominate the magazine; for page after page the reader is
bombarded with propaganda. It gets to the point where one cannot differentiate between
an advertisement and an actual article in the magazine. The editors of the magazines
know this, and of course, they take full advantage of the situation. Thus, starting in the
middle of their magazine, they cleverly disguise advertisements as articles. The ads use
the same format as the real articles in the magazine. Meaning the same font, same layout,
pretty much same everything; they do anything and everything to make the ad look like a
real article in the magazine. These articles are really called "advertorials"; they are made
to make you think that the magazine is truly writing about the product and how great it is.
Advertorials actually work better at selling product than real advertisements. Its totally
deceptive, but the magazines have no problem accepting this type of ad from the sleaze
ball supplement companies, because why not? Its just more money in their pockets.
Finally, as I end this chapter entitled, Magazines: Bibles of Bullshits, Id like to talk about
probably the most shady thing about magazines related to health and fitness, weight loss,
and bodybuilding. Most of them are owned by companies that sell something directly
related to their magazine, whether it is a diet book, exercise equipment or
supplements. Meaning each and every one of the rat bastards has an agenda. Now, I
need to give this magazine/supplement company a name for future reference, and the first
thing that comes to my mind is cloak and dagger technique. I like this name for this sales

technique. The magazine is designed as an educational collection of information;
meanwhile, as soon as physically possible they stab you with their sales pitches, whether
you know it or not.
One of the best cloak and dagger techniques of all time was with a magazine called
Muscle Media 2000 and the products that they sold under the brand name EAS. This
magazine came onto the bodybuilding scene in the 1990s. I remember I used to love that
magazine. I was in my college years. And of course, at that time I had no idea that their
real agenda was to sell you their supplements with this cloak and dagger technique.
Muscle Media 2000 really did have some of the greatest information about bodybuilding
and supplements. It was different. It was not the same boring information like the other
bodybuilding magazines, such as Flex and Iron Man. What was brilliant about Muscle
Media 2000 was the fact that it sensationalized the everyday Joe Weekender and
degraded the steroid injecting professional bodybuilder. While magazines like Joe
Weiders Flex and Iron Man were putting juiced-up professional bodybuilders on the cover
of their magazines, alongside a fitness model with huge breast implants, Muscle Media
2000 was putting everyday ordinary people with great physiques on the cover of its
magazine. This was a stroke of salesmanship brilliance by Bill Phillips (owner of Muscle
Media 2000) because the subscribers of Muscle Media 2000 could better relate to the
whole philosophy of the magazine. The average person cannot relate to a 300 pound,
steroid-abusing bodybuilder. But the average person CAN relate to a physically in-shape
185 pound man. The average 185 pound man wasn't participating in bodybuilding
contests. Thus, Muscle Media 2000 never talked about bodybuilding contests. It was a
bodybuilding magazine, but it could care less about Mr. Olympia or the Arnold Classic, the
two biggest bodybuilding shows in the world. Muscle Media did, however, talk openly and
honestly about anabolic steroids. It actually described certain steroids in detail and how to
use them. The greatest thing about this magazine and how it gained its readership's
confidence was the fact that they told you which supplements sucked or were scams and
which ones were not. In one issue of Muscle Media 2000, the editor, Bill Phillips, offer a
supplement company $10,000 if they could back up the claims they made in one of their
advertisements in another magazine. Muscle Media 2000, of course, also sold
bodybuilding supplements under the brand EAS. Products by EAS dominated the
magazine. Heres how the cloak and dagger technique worked. (And its still used today,
by the way) First, the magazine would talk about a particular problem. In this case, I will
talk about weight loss. The magazine, cleverly, would tie the problem in and tell how it
could be solved by using a particular food. And how, if you used this food, you could start
to lose body fat. But then, it explained, this method is difficult, so it would be a lot easier if

you supplemented. And if you just so happen to want to supplement, here is the
supplement you should look for.
But you should only look for really high quality supplements and ones that come from
reputable supplement companies. Oh, by the way, the author of this article just so
happens to recommend one. Can you guess which brand he is going to recommendof
course EAS! And guess where the ad for this particular supplement is? It's precisely
placed immediately following the article. One product Muscle Media and EAS did this
technique with, was a product called CLA, which stands for conjugated linoleic acid, a fatty
acid from sunflower oil that supposedly helps you reduce body fat and maintain lean
muscle. CLA is still sold today, and it has true legitimate studies supporting its weight loss
claims. But if you ever read the results of the studies you would see that the weight loss is
minimal and it takes about four months to see a two to three pound difference. Meanwhile,
if you just ate better you would get better results. CLA though is a decent supplement if
you get the brand Tonalin. This brand was the original brand and the one that you can
trust. Even though you will not see any significant results, if any at all, CLA is very healthy
for you and eventually it will help you.
Muscle Media 2000 and their supplement company EAS, went on to be one of the largest
sports nutrition supplement companies in the history of the industry. Bill Phillips either sold
the company or somethingIm not sure, but eventually Muscle Media died out, and EAS
went downhill. They went from a cutting edge supplement company to a cookie cutter
supplement company, with several failed spin-off brands. But nonetheless, the cloak and
dagger technique worked remarkably well for Bill Phillips and his Muscle Media 2000/EAS
Company.
Any magazine related to health and fitness, weight loss and bodybuilding is nothing but a
scam. I recommend never relying on these magazines for information. If you do, youll
wind up just wasting your money on a product that doesn't work. Any information in these
magazines is just a piece of propaganda meant to sell you something. The owners of
companies of these magazines all have some sort of agenda besides selling you the
magazine, thus they cannot be trusted to give you information.
Here I copied and pasted information about Joe Weider from Wikipedia. Here is the
URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Weider
In 1972, Weider and his brother Ben found themselves a target of an investigation led by
U.S. Postal Inspectors. The investigation involved the claims regarding their nutritional
supplement, Weider Formula No. 7. The product was a weight-gainer that featured a

young Arnold Schwarzenegger on the label. The actual claim centered on consumers
being able to "gain a pound per day" in mass. Following an appeal wherein
Schwarzenegger testified, Weider was forced to alter his marketing and claims.
Weider was ordered to offer a refund to 100,000 customers of a "five-minute body shaper"
that was claimed to offer significant weight loss after just minutes a day of use. The claims,
along with misleading "before and after" photographs, were deemed false advertising by a
Superior Court Judge in 1976.
In the 1980s, Weider found himself answering charges levied by the Federal Trade
Commission (FTC). In 1984, the FTC charged that ads for Weider's Anabolic Mega-Pak
(containing amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and herbs) and Dynamic Life Essence (an
amino acid product) had been misleading. The FTC complaint was settled in 1985 when
Weider and his company agreed not to falsely claim that the products could help build
muscles or be effective substitutes for anabolic steroids. They also agreed to pay a
minimum of $400,000 in refunds, or, if refunds did not reach this figure, to fund research
on the relationship of nutrition to muscle development.
In 2000, Weider Nutritional International settled another FTC complaint involving false
claims made for alleged weight loss products. The settlement agreement called for
$400,000 to be paid to the FTC and for a ban on making any unsubstantiated claims for
any food, drug, dietary supplement, or program.
Above, I have been referring to physical magazines. Meaning magazines that you can find
in the store and physically hold and turn the pages. But now since we have the internet,
you can find a lot of websites that contain articles, just like a magazine. Thus I need to talk
about the internet.

he internet is the best place to get information and the worst place to get
information. It's the best place to get information because where else the fuck you
going to get informationphysically drive yourself to the local library, find an
outdated book and look that way! Yeah, right. Nothing beats the internet for finding
information. Its super simple and most of all, super-fast. Google something and you can
read, read, read, and read some more. But heres the problem, and the reason I also said
its the worst place to get information. The problem is that when you Google something or
use any other search engine for that matter, the results are (let me put this in laymans
terms) fixed. Yes, thats right, fixed. The results you see are not really controlled by
Google. They are controlled by the companies for whom results are produced from that
particular keyword you typed in on that particular search engines website. Hmmmm...are
you following me? Let's take a look. While Im typing this, today's date is Nov 3, 2011. I
type into Google, How to lose weight. Now if the Google search engine was really smart,
it would give you a website of how to lose weight. And on that website would be
something along the lines of reducing your calories and exercising and eating healthy.
Instead you get a website with a link to a video with some asshole rambling on and on and
on, about how you need to lose that embarrassing fat ass of yours. It's cleverly scripted
and edited, all with the goal of one thing, to sell you his shitty weight loss plan or diet or
productwho the fuck knows. (I didn't watch the thing all the way through because I
couldn't stand listening to him anymore with all of his bullshit).
The first result, (which over 90% of people click on) is a product pitch. Not intelligent
information, but a Google result meant to SELL!! Not only that, but the first three results
you have on the top, which are paid results, are product pitches. You got Special K,
Sensa, and Slim-Fast. Sell, sell, sell. This is why I think the internet is sometimes the
worst place to get information. The information is meant to do one thing and one thing
only, sell you something, not educate.
God forbid, you type in fat burner into the Google search engine. This is where Google
really makes their money off advertising.
There is a marketing term called, Search Engine Optimization, or SEO for short. SEO is a
technique used by many companies to get their website to rank higher when Google
search results are produced. Some companies will spend thousands upon thousands of
dollars for companies to SEO their websites. Some marketing experts will use what the
internet world calls black hat techniques to get their websites to rank high on Google.
T

Black hat techniques are techniques that Google terms illegal, but companies use them
to boost their search engine results. But regardless, SEO is a marketing technique and
whoever wins the battle is set to make a lot of money. Lets use the keyword search term
how to lose weight fast. I chose this because its a term that, according to Googles
keyword tool, gets about 135,000 searches within the United States monthly. I Googled,
how to lose weight fast. And of course, the first results are product pitch pages. Nothing
more than bullshit thrown in your face. The first three are disguised by Google as search
engine results, when they are really paid advertisements. Google puts a very faint, light-
tan background around these ads. But if they made it any more faint it would be invisible
and would look like search engine results. It's really a paid advertisement made to look
like a genuine search engine result. Heres an interesting stat:
As you can see, most people click on the first resultwhich is an ADVERTISEMENT!! Not
a real search engine result. You put your faith in Google, and then they throw in your face
an advertisement disguised as a real search engine result.
The bottom line when using the internet to educate yourself on fat burning supplements
isDONT. The internet is NOT the place to look for intelligent and truthful information
about fat burning or really anything that has to do with weight loss.
Comedian Dave Schepel had one of the funniest comedy sketches having to do with the
internet. Its totally true, and too bad he didnt include fat burning supplements, but he
could have easily of done so. Here is the title, go to YouTube and type this in to watch.

BOOKS
Here is an interesting fact I found. Between 2002 and 2003, diet titles more than doubled
their share of overall book sales. How come everyone thinks that some sort of miracle diet
or new diet book that comes out is the greatest thing since sliced bread? Now is the time
that you take this book and smack yourself up in the head and realize that every single
new diet that comes out is nothing more than a way to get money out of your wallet.
Whether its a new celebrity diet book or new Doctor-endorsed diet book. They are ALL
SCAMS!! It's ridiculous; there must be over 1,000,000 books about weight loss.
Everything from the 7 day diet to the 5 second secret belly fat diet (LMAO!!) I mean come
on, seriously!! Talk about a scamdiet books are nothing more than thata scam. It's
just a way to make you follow a certain food regime, which is meaningless and makes no
difference whatsoever, and in which the bottom line is that it reduces your calories. Theres
no special foods, or special meal plans, or special this or special that. Its simply a scam.
Again, I go back to my statement, Why do you think there are so many pills, diets, books,
ab machines, and weight loss devicesBECAUSE NONE OF THEM WORK!! You buy
one, it doesnt work, so what do you do? You buy another one, and guess what, that
doesnt work. The only thing that did work was you lost weight in your wallet! (Ha! Ive
been waiting to use that joke for the last few chapters).
Bottom line: Do not buy any book that has a damn thing to do about weight loss. Instead
spend your money on some fresh fruit and vegetables!

othing makes me want to throw my protein shake through the TV more than when I
watch commercials about exercise equipment or exercise machines, especially ab
machines. Im 39 years old and I remember watching these commercials since I
was a kid. Like Barnum Baily said, There is a sucker born every few minutes. And, oh
boy, does this apply the the ab machine industry. Wholly fuck!! Do people really still
believe that some sort of ab machine they buy off the TV will give them a six pack? I
guess so, because these commercials are still being run on the air, and so people still
must be buying this crap.
Let me give all you wanna-be six pack ab dreamers a little known FACT!! I dont care how
many sit ups you do, how many ab machines you buy, you will NOT have any visible
abdominal muscle if your body fat is 11% or higher (approximately). For women, it's
around 15%. AGAIN, do as many sit ups as you want, leg lifts, or whatever, you will not
have abs unless you reduce your body fat to the minimum requirements.
I laugh my ass off when I see people with fat stomachs, guts, pooches, beer bellies, or
whatever else you want to call the blubber around their stomach, doing ab exercises in the
gym. It is a complete WASTE OF TIME!! And the infomercials on TV that show you the
before and after pictures of people with fat stomachs and then abs, did NOT get that way
from using the ab machine. They got that way from correcting their diet, and losing body
fat. Thus, do NOT even bother doing sit ups if you have no will power to lose body fat. The
funny thing is this. Everyone has abdominal muscles. Abdominal muscles are similar to
every other muscle you have in your body. So, if you train your chest once a week you
should train you abs once a week. Again, I constantly see people in the gym doing sit ups
every day. Why? Do you want your abs to grow so they really stick out? You see this
sometimes with the professional female fitness bodybuilders and figure girls. They train
their abs so much they begin to actually stick out, and they look like they have a gut. Or, if
you want to get disgusting about it, a gunt. (Yeah, figure it out.) Thus, train your abs once
a week if you have, or have not, fat on your stomach.
The second thing. Side bends. I remember one time when I was working out at my old
gym in the morning. Every time I was there, which was only three or four days a week, this
non-muscular guy would stand up, grab a 45 pound plate in one hand, let it hang from his
side, and he would proceed to bend to the side at his waist.
He would stand there and just keep going up and down and up and down, thinking he was
working his love handles, obviously. Are you kidding me??!! Doing side bends like that or

anything close to that will NOT REDUCE your love handles. The only thing that will reduce
your love handles, or spare tire, is to reduce your body fat.
You CANNOT, and I repeat CANNOT, spot fat reduce. Meaning that you can't say, Well,
Im going to work out today to lose fat on my inner thighs. The body will decide where it
will reduce its body fat. That is totally a genetic thing. And please, oh please, do not tell
me that those abdominal belts that you wrap around your stomach will reduce the fat over
your abs. They won't. Machines that are specific to a certain body part will not reduce fat
from that particular body part. Again, a total SCAM!
That brings me to list the most completely and utterly useless pieces of equipment that
exist:
1. Inner or outer thigh machine
2. Ab machine
3. Tricep machine
4. Bicep machine
5. Oblique twist machine
6. Rubber bands
The only people who use these machines are fat people and people who have no clue
about working out. They are completely worthless. If you want to start working out and you
have never worked out before, do NOT start with machines. In fact if you never use them
your entire life, it would not matter. Free weights is the only way to lift weights: barbells
and dumbbells. Fuck the bands, the cables, the machines, and everything else that isn't a
Gosh Damn piece of iron. Here's a list of the top five exercises to do if you are a fat-ass
and want to lose weight or a beginner who just wants to start working out (bodybuilding).
1. Barbell squat
2. Dead lift
3. Stiff-legged dead lift (Romanian Dead Lift)
4. Barbell lunges
5. Military press
6. Bench Press
Now if you have never attempted any of these exercises and are currently in the gym
working out, then you are making a big mistake and quite frankly wasting your time in the
gym. I suggest you work at MASTERING these five exercises first and then do everything
else. If you want to know HOW to do these exercises go out a buy a book called, Extreme

Muscle Enhancement by Dr. Carlon Colker. He explains exactly how each exercise is
supposed to be done. Because if you do NOT do these right a few things can happen.
1) You can get seriously hurt.
2) You will not get the full benefit of the exercise.
3) Youll look like a fucking idiot in front of the whole gym.
Heres the other thing. Please, oh please, dont give me the old, Im a woman and I dont
want to bulk up like a one of those bodybuilders!! AHHHHAHHHHI hate it when
women say this to me. Women do not BULK up like men!! You are a woman! Not a man!
Do you have testicles between your legs hiding up in your vagina? NO!! Do you have the
same levels of testosterone as a man? NO! So please spare me the, I just want to tone
up. There is no such thing as toning up. You are either building muscle or breaking it
down. There is no such thing as bulking up, toning up, getting cut up, gaining lean mass,
etc. You are either building muscle or you are not.
To summarize this chapter on exercise machines, all I can say is this. If it is not made out
of iron and looks like two circles with a pole going through it, do not buy it. If you want to
work out from home, buy yourself some dumbbells. When I had my first child and moved
into my new house, I didnt have time to go to a gym. I bought myself a squat cage, some
barbells, and these things: http://www.powerblock.com/
I worked out in my garage and loved every minute of it. With these Powerblock dumbbells,
you have all your bases covered. Dont waste your time with any exercise machine. They
do not produce results superior to barbells or dumbbells. In fact, they produce inferior
results! Again, I will give you the best tip for abdominal exercises, and again from my
friend Dr. Colker.

othing is more tempting to the wallet than an infomercial. D-rated celebrities
become billionaires selling product on television. Crap like the thigh master from
that piece of ass, Suzanne Summers. Dang was she hot on Threes Company!
The Blue Blocker sunglasses, and then that cokehead with the beard, who could sell the
shit out of anything. Oh yeah, and dont forget the George Foreman grill; I heard he literally
became a billionaire selling that stupid grill. Needless to say, the weight loss niche found
its way into television. Exercise equipment must be the largest category of its kind, and of
course the ab machine is the biggest seller. In the last chapter I talked about this.
The infomercials are so tempting to the wallet because you see people in really good
shape using the equipment, and then you are subjected to before and after pictures.
These people using the machines are paid actors. The before and after pictures are real
people, but they did not transform their physiques from using the particular product that the
infomercial is selling. They trained and dieted properly perhaps months before the
infomercial was taped. Not only that, but you can bet the cellulite on the back of your legs
that there are people who make their living doing infomercials for the marketing companies
that make these products.
The bottom line is that infomercials selling anything related to weight loss is a scam. As
far as infomercials selling exercise equipment, PHEWEE!! Every exercise expert will tell
you that free weights are the best. Cables, pulleys, bands, and anything that is not a
chunk of iron is not nearly effective as free weights. From my friend, Dr. Colkers book,
Extreme Muscle Enhancement, he says something along the lines that free weights are far
superior to exercise machines because free weights require: balance, coordination, focus,
and much more, compared to machines, which require only one thought, PUSH! Bottom
line: BARBELLS and DUMBBELLS, fat ass!! Stay off the freakin' machines at the gym and
for Pete's sake, forget the equipment that you can buy on QVC!
Reality TV
From the Los Angeles Times, January 2011:
Reality weight-loss shows perpetuate stereotypes and encourage unhealthful

I do not think these shows are a good idea in any way. When people are as large as the
contestants on these reality shows, they are not well. I have a problem with treating their
condition like some kind of game: How much weight can you lose? And how quickly?
Those on these television programs clearly are obese, but they are afforded medical
supervision. The person viewing at home who says, "I'll do those jumping jacks and turn
my life around" could have a heart attack.
Frankly, the idea of everyone simply losing weight is also questionable. There are people
who are heavy but remain healthier than people who are slim or who are "yo-yo" dieters.
Weight is an individual thing and weight loss is not the best option or even necessary
for everyone.
We should focus on our health, not size or weight. If it was a show about "Let's be
healthy," it probably wouldn't have as many viewers, but it would at least be sending a
positive message to viewers.
Diets are multibillion-dollar marketing campaigns that people buy into. I believe it's about a
lifestyle change, not a diet. Since 95% of the people who diet will regain their weight within
five years, this TV dieting is just setting people up for failure.
Some weight gain is also an anxiety-driven, binge-eating disorder, and that's not
something I'm hearing discussed. While people on these shows may temporarily lose
weight, in the case of eating disorders, they are not addressing the underlying causes of
their weight problem. Eating disorders have the highest death rate of any mental illness
more than depression or schizophrenia.
Finally, many people who have eating disorders probably do watch these shows and are
impacted by them. That just furthers the unhealthy focus society has on weight and size.
It's like forcing an alcoholic to live in a bar. When I talk to people who had eating disorders,
I tell them never to talk about what their weight once was as that creates competition,
which can trigger unhealthful behaviors. Clearly, these shows are the ultimate
competitions.
I couldnt agree with Lynn Grefe more. She is dead on to the fact that the reality shows
about weight loss are nothing more than entertainment. It's all about ratings for the
television networks. Granted, the people do lose weight and the reason why is obvious.
They eat right and exercise like crazy.

In conclusion, my advice to you is to avoid falling prey to the so-called, self-proclaimed
fitness experts and doctors that scour the TV and internet. These people are not experts in
weight loss, health, or fitness. What they are is either paid endorsers or masters at
marketing. I have been in this business since 1998, and I can tell you only a handful of
experts in the health and fitness industry. These are the major players. Excuse me if you
are some well-known health person in East Bumble Fuck, Iowa and I never heard of you, I
apologize. If you want advice and are looking for truthful and honest information the
following people are the ONLY people I would turn to for information. (I'm including myself
of course!!)
The funny thing about the following people that you will read about below is that they are
not recognizable and you probably never heard of them. Unlike famous fitness gurus like
Richard Simmons, Tony Little, Body by Jake, Denise Austin, and Jennifer Nicole Lee, the
people you will read about below are not sell-outs. They never pimped product like the
people above. They tell you the truth. I consider the people listed below to be the really
good guys of the weight loss and fitness industry. They never joined the dark side of the
weight-loss industry. I suggest that, if you are looking for advice about weight loss and
weight loss supplements, you find these people and heed their advice.
The Best of the Best
Dr. Carlon Colker. If you are not a pussy and can
handle the truth slapped into your face, there is
nobody better than Dr. Carlon Colker. Dr. Colker
works in Greenwich, Connecticut and runs a
business called Peak Wellness. He helps his
customers achieve their goals whether its
bodybuilding, weight loss, physical therapy, or
anything else that has to do with wellness. Dr.
Colker advises professional athletes as well as
movie stars, and ordinary Joes like you and me. Dr.
Colker has been in the bodybuilding business and supplement business since I can
remember, and he is easily the most trustworthy person when it comes to telling you the
truth about anything. If you need help losing weight and live in the Greenwich, CT area, go
see Dr. Colker. I guarantee you will be satisfied.

Will Brink. I do not know Will Brink personally, but he is
probably the best guy when it comes to dietary
supplements. He will tell you what products work and what
products are complete horseshit. You can find him on the
internet at www.brinkzone.com. Hes a kinda funny looking
guy, but on the website he gives good video reviews and
teachings about bodybuilding and weight loss supplements.
Nelson Montana. I would consider Nelson more of a
bodybuilding supplement guru. He has probably written some of the greatest articles
about bodybuilding in relationship to supplementation. He wrote two books about
bodybuilding. The first one is called, The Bodybuilding Truth. Its a great book and really
gives you some great insider information on the sport. It also gives you great information
about supplements.
Nancy Clark. If you want an easy read about sports nutrition then
Nancy Clark is your gal. I would consider Nancy super honest and
providing super science-based-driven advice. She has never
sold out, meaning, she has never recommended a dietary
supplement. She has written a book, or books, I'm not sure, but
regardless, she is a great sports nutrition person.
Anthony Roberts. The TRUE tabloid writer in the sports nutrition business. When it comes
to digging up dirt in the sports nutrition business, nobody is better than Anthony Roberts. I
recommend reading his blog so you can really see the evils that go down behind the
curtain of the dietary supplement business. His website is http://www.anthonyroberts.info/.

Chapter 8
My Recommendations For Weight Loss Supplements
Decathin is one of the purest diet pills available. Its primary
ingredients are ten Super Foods which were noted in a TIME
magazine article titled 10 Foods that Pack a Wallop. These
foods were clinically proven to aide in healthy weight loss.

After
two weeks of taking these foods, the creator of Decathin was able
to lose 12 pounds

nfortunately, the last fairly effective weight loss product was called ephedrine.
Ephedrine was essentially a potent amphetamine that was a stimulant and
thermogenic. But it also caused a lot of side effects and even deaths, as I
elaborated in previous chapters. Therefore, the FDA made the sale of ephedrine illegal. So
with the demise of ephedrine, what were we left with? Is there a weight loss or fat burning
compound (whatever you want to call it) that produces results? Will there ever be another
weight loss product as good as ephedrine? Well, let's start from the top.
Here is (what I think anyhow) one of the biggest misconceptions that consumers have
about the supplement industry. The supplement companies that you commonly know of do
not make the ingredients in their products. They buy them from other companies, that half
the time pay other companies to make them. A little confusing, I know; well, let me break it
down for you. Let's take this nutraceutical (for reference nutraceutical will mean any single
nutritional ingredient), called Advantra -Z. Believe it or not, Advantra Z is the only patented
thermogenic on the market today. A company called Nutratech makes it. Heres there
website, http://www.nutratechinc.com/advz/advz.php. Notice you won't find it for sale in
capsules or anything. Nor will you find promises of losing 40 pounds in 30 days or before
or after pictures. Nutratech is the company that actually MAKES the powder. Supplement
companies that you are familiar with, the ones who have products for sale at retail and
internet stores, buy Advantra Z from Nutratech and then pay another company to put it into
capsules, package it, label it, and then ship it to wherever. The supplement companies
have done no research or actual lab studies. They simply relied on Nutratech to do it all for
them and then they take all the credit. It's misleading because it makes you think that the
supplement companies have guys in lab coats creating these products like Advantra-Z, but
that is far from the truth. Here is a statement I found in a fitness magazine by a
supplement company that sells a weight loss capsule product. (This weight loss product
was in the top five best sellers on bodybuilding.com on January 2nd, 2010 when I looked it
up on the net.)
Weve created the most potent blend of fat-destroying compounds imaginable.
As you can see, it makes you think that this supplement company actually created the
ingredients in this product. Here is the first ingredient I found in the product when I looked
at the supplement facts panel: 3,3'-Diiodo-L-Thyronine
I then simply copied and pasted it in Google and found this link in the top ten of the search
results. http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/3-3-diiodo-l-thyronine.html

Now, if you go to this page you will find numerous Chinese companies offering this product
for sale in bulk. Will you find any American companies? Hell, no!
Here are some things that you can read from the bulk suppliers located in China.
1. We can supply 10% and 60% 3,3' Diiodo-L-thyronine, or other specification.
2. The color: brown yellow color powder.
3. The testing method: HPLC.
4. We can supply 3,3' Diiodo-L-thyronine any quantities with competitive prices and
specification needed. Please dont hesitate to contact us if you are interested in our
product.
5. Package: cardboard drums, with double aseptic food poly bags inside. Or by cartons,
with visual aseptic food poly bags inside, 25 kgs per carton with 10 bags inside, 2.5 kg per
bag.
6. We have passed HACCP Certificate, ISO9001 Certificate and we have USA FDA
register number. And we are also Alibaba Chinese supplier. Now, we can do commodity
inspection.
What this means is that this company can supply you with bulk powder 3,3' Diiodo-L-
thyronine. For more info go to www.lgberry.com. So that is exactly what I did. And low and
behold, you will see that this is a Chinese company located in China selling all sorts of
nutraceutical compounds. From Resveratrol to Horny Goat Weed. This Chinese company
is called Lingonberry Organic Foodstuffs Co., Ltd.hmmmm, sounds like it can be a local
Vermont company owned by some stand-up business men. But look further and their real
name is Daxinganling located in 1 LvShui Road, SongLing District, DaXingAnLing City,
HeiLongJiang, China. This, my friends, is where 95% of your nutraceuticals found in your
favorite supplements are fromChina. And some guy in a lab coat out in California,
working for one of these major supplement companies, selling millions of dollars of year of
their best-selling fat burning product on bodybuilding.com, is made-up horse shit. These
supplement companies dont have any research and development departments. All they
have is some slick marketing guys who know how to turn out a product and put out a
double spread ad in a muscle magazine. China, and the people from China, are the ones
who are actually INVENTING new fat burning nutraceuticals. American companies simply
rely on them to inform them when they have done so. Pretty sad, isnt it? Sad that billions

of dollars' worth of weight loss supplement sold at retail and internet stores are all made
with nutraceuticals made in China.
So now you know why no weight loss products actual work. Some company in China is not
going to invent a weight loss product (or at least I dont have hopes they will). America is
the place where the best inventions are made, not China. So until some company in the
U.S. invents a nutraceutical to actually work, you are going to be stuck using products that
dont, but according to the supplement companies that sell them, they work like nothing
you have ever tried before! See our fake before and after pictures. Please, I really hope
nobody believes before and after pictures anymore. Can we really trust these photos?
Previously, I mentioned a product called Advantra-Z. Advantra-Z is a branded ingredient.
Meaning the company that sells this product (Nutratech) actually went through the time to
put some effort into the product and its quality. Yes, it's probably made it China, but at
least this branded ingredient goes through some sort of quality to check to make sure it
actually is Advantra-Z. And Americans who work for Nutratech hopefully have some
integrity and want to sell a 100% legit product. Now the other product I mentioned in this
section, 3,3' Diiodo-L-thyronine, is not a branded ingredient. It's what I like to call a whos
to know what the hell it is product. Sure the guys at Daxingangling assured me it was
100% 3,3' Diiodo-L-thyronine, so I guess Ill trust them. (Uh, yeah right!) See the
difference. One product has an American blanket around it and the other product is just
100% pure, grade A Chinese. So the bottom line is, when choosing a weight loss product it
is important to find products that have BRANDED ingredients in them.
What are the best branded weight loss nutraceuticals? (Now make sure you understand
what Im talking about. Im not talking about products sold at retail and internet stores.) Im
talking about products like Advantra-Z. Strictly single nutraceutical ingredients. I put links
to the manufacturer's website. This way you can see the real science behind these
products.
1) CLA gels. You have to look for Tonalin Brand; its the best one. If you are not using
Tonalin you could be using CLA made in China.
http://www.tonalin.com/index.php?opt...8&lang=english. I personally take CLA every day.
Its extremely inexpensive and not only that, it is very healthy for you. Another added
benefit is that it supposedly has muscle-building properties. Ive been using CLA for a
while. Do not expect any miracles, quick weight loss or six pack abs from taking CLA. It's
a health supplement, plain and simple.
2) Advantra-Z. (I've already mentioned this product.)

3) Capsimax. This is a hot pepper extract that is proven to increase metabolic rate.
http://www.omniactives.com/omni/htm/omniproduct.htm. You can take this pre-workout
right before you do squats or deadlifts. As I mentioned in previous chapters, I think cardio
sucks for losing weight.
4) Garcitrin. This is a HCA extract that works by three ways. In laymans terms, it
promotes fat oxidation and prohibits fat oxidation. http://www.garcitrin.com/about-
garcitrin.html
5) Forslean. This is a Coleus forskohlii extract. Patented so its the only one you should
use. The process to make the product is why it works. The Chinese sell it, but it doesnt
work because they dont make it right. A lot of supplement companies dont realize that
they are breaking the law when they use the Chinese version of this product in their
formulas because Forslean is under patent protection. http://www.forslean.com/whatis.htm
6) 7-Keto. 7-Keto is a potent activator of three important thermogenic enzymes. These
enzymes are known to play an important role in helping the body convert stored fat to
energy. It's patented. http://www.humaneticsingredients.com
7) Cactinea. This is a rather new product. Comes from a cactus fruit. But the clinical
studies look very promising. Most likely you are not going to find this at any retail stores
yet. http://www.bioserae.com/uk/Cacti-Nea...%A2_17_18.html
8) Slimaluna. http://www.slimaluma.com/
9) Teavigo. A green tea extract that is the best in the world. Helps promote weight loss.
http://www.teavigo.com/Files/HTML/index.html
10) DHEA. It's essentially a hormone found in both men and women. For men this
supplement doesn't do a damn thing. But for women, it could have some fat loss potential.
From the website, www.brinkzone.com:
The use of DHEA therapy may also be discussed in women of any age when a trial of
androgen supplementation seems justified because of the existence of an inhibited sexual
desire or a sexual arousal disorder associated with documented androgen deficiency. The
rather weak conversion of DHEA into testosterone protects from the risk of overdosing
associated with testosterone preparations.
Karlis Ullis, MD, a faculty member of the UCLA School of Medicine, who treats women
with hormone imbalances states:

It is clear to me, both from my clinical practice and from research, that testosterone is vital
for women to preserve their lean mass and to prevent obesity. Not only will testosterone
help mobilize body fat and negate some of the fat-storing effects of estrogen, it is also
extremely effective in building lean mass in womeneven at small doses. Hormone
replacement therapy that only includes estrogen and progesterone but leaves out
testosterone is a curse of many a womans fat loss program. This is not only a concern for
postmenopausal women. Young women should think twice about using birth control pills.
Birth control pills elevate estrogen and progesterone levels while drastically lowering
testosterone levels. This is reason why many women experience large gains in fat as well
as a decreased libido when using birth control pills.
Okay, that is most of the best weight loss nutraceuticals available on the planet today. My
personal favorite is the Capsimax and the Teavigo. I stack those with a huge amount of
dietary fat capsules: CLA, flax, fish, and krill. I take about 4, 70 cc scoops of
proteinfactory.com omega muscle, 3 CLA gels, and 6 krill oil gel caps. Nothing is better
than that.
So you still want to buy a magic weight loss product from the internet in hopes that it will
make you ripped like those guys in the before and after pics in the muscle magazine?
Yeah, I know it's hard not to believe those ads, especially when they say thisIt packs
ingredients that are so incredibly effective at burning body fat that its not for the weak-
hearted or undedicated. (OMG, do people actually believe this shit? This is border line
Barnum Bailey Bullshit.) Fine. But here are some simple rules that will help you out from
buying some shitty ass Chinese loading product that may or may not destroy your liver or
put you in the hospital.
My Rules for Buying a Weight Loss Pill Product
The funny thing with weight loss products is that there are just so many. Just by scanning
the internet you can find over 100,000 different products. And why are there so many?
Because none of them work. Well, some may work, but they are very, very weak. If you
are an unknowing consumer, you buy one product and it doesnt work, so what do you do
in desperationyou try another product from another company claiming that they have
just created the ultimate fat burner that makes all others obsolete!! Give me a break,
each diet product I looked at in a recent muscle magazine claims to be the most potent
youll ever try and promises to melt the fat off you, HA! Fat chance (no pun intended).

Rule #1.
Stay away from kitchen sink supplements. Kitchen sink supplements are weight loss
products with a ton of nutraceuticals tossed into the capsule. It is made to make you think
that, "Wow, look at all these ingredients Im getting!!" A good quality weight loss capsule
will have only one to three ingredients. Anything more is impossible because either the
product will just get too expensive to make or the dosage will be too low. For example, the
nutraceutical, Cactinea. The clinical study calls for 2 grams per day. So in order to cut
costs, a supplement company will only put in 250 mg into their product. They will put
Cactinea on the label but not put the amount. Or they will put the amount in hopes you
never look at the actual clinical study, which 99% of people dont. I mean come on, is
some college chick wanting to buy a weight loss product actually going to do any
research? (I dont think so.) Kitchen sink supplements by far are the worst. It's like
chugging down a crazy cocktail of Chinese made powders. These products suck. Most of
them simply contain caffeine to make it feel like it's working.
Rule #2.
If it has some sort of drug-sounding name or a name relating to ephedrine, dont use it. For
example, Beta-Methoxy- Phenylethylamine, Methylselenocysteine, Synephrine, DL-
Phenylalanine. I mean come on people, what the hell is this stuff?! Are these products
being made by pharmaceutical manufacturer in the United States? Nope, they are made
by some company in China. The Chinese are turning out alternatives to ephedrine faster
than I can finish this article. The FDA can't keep up with them. But the Chinese
manufacturers of these products contact the supplement companies and convince them to
put this new special ingredient in their weight loss product. And of course the supplement
companies dont give a shit about your health. And they want to make believe that they are
the cutting edge. These products can and WILL kill you. But hey, at least you would have
lost weight; you might be six feet under, but youll weigh less!! I went on bodybuilding.com
today (January 2nd, 2011) and found in the top five best-selling products without
stimulants, a product containing Usnic Acid. You can easily do a Google search on Usnic
Acid and find very negative effects from it. But, hey, the company that is selling it is getting
rich playing Russian roulette with your health. Assholes!!
Rule #3.
Make sure it has a branded ingredient in the ingredient deck, as I previously listed.
Branded ingredients on the back of a weight loss supplement are easy to find. That new
Kardashian product, believe it or not, does have a branded ingredient in it. So at least that
WEIGHT LOSS AND FAT BURNING: SUCKERS, SCAMS, LIES, FAD DIETS, BOGUS PRODUCTS,

product has some quality behind it. P.S. watch out for alternatives. For example, Green
Tea Extract or EGCG. The BEST in the world is from DSM, branded Teavigo. But of
course, it's expensive. So what do the supplement companies do? They simply call up
Foo-Fung Chow from Beijing and ask him to supply them with EGCG similar to Teavigo.
No problem, says Mr. Chow. I make it for you at 75% less the cost. Great, says Mr.
Supplement company owner. Next thing you know it's in his weight loss product.
Rule #4
Make sure it comes from a reputable company. NOT!! There are barely any reputable
companies selling weight loss products! So Im not going to make that a rule!! Ha, Ha!!
Google this: FDA recalls weight loss supplement. Youll find hundreds of supplement
companies that spike their products with real drugs. Even the biggest of the big
supplement companies choose to use Chinese nutraceuticals over branded ingredients.
Rule #5
Dont rely on what OTHER people have told you. I have been reading the internet
message boards since the inception of the internet. Theres so many wanna-bes and self-
proclaimed experts posting on these forums it's not even funny. Not only that, but the
message boards are filled with so-called reviews talking about their results with a
particular supplement. Lets talk reality now. I would guesstimate that most of these
"reviews" are staged. Meaning that the supplement companies that make these products
and/or the companies that are selling these crappy products go to the review sites and
have their employees or themselves post reviews; its a big time scam. And they all post
messages like they know for sure what they are talking about. So I highly recommend
NOT relying on the internet when choosing a weight loss product to buy99% of people
posting on message boards know nothing about supplement manufacturing.
Rule #6
Buy a weight loss supplement with ONLY ONE branded ingredient. For example: Go out
and buy yourself Tonalin CLA. Then go to the Tonalin CLA website (I have provided the
link) and use it as THEY recommend, not how some self-proclaimed expert on
bodybuilding.com forum tells you. Then use it and see if it works. If it doesnt, you then
know it didnt work for you and you can move on to the next branded ingredient.
If you want to find more weight loss supplements that are only one branded ingredient,
what you do is go to the website links I provided for these ingredients. Then contact them
and ask them where you can buy their products. They will be happy to tell you.

Rule #7.
Dont expect any miracles.
Even the branded ingredients I mentioned, in my opinion, are very weak products. What I
mean by that is even if you took these supplements as directed, the weight loss you can
expect is going to be very minimal. Therefore, dont rely on weight loss products for your
weight loss. Macronutrients are the key, and WILL POWER is everything. So if you want to
lose fat, quit eating shit and maybe hire a personal trainer. Take a look at this.a girlfriend
of mine eats this stuff for two months before a photo shoot or any expos she attends to get
cut. Shes got a six pack and an ass that looks like an apple. Here is what she eats:
Chicken, lean beef, egg whites, tuna, greens, yams, and one gallon of water a day. The
supplements she uses are protein powder (of course from www.proteinfactory.com) and
CLA gels and some multi-vitamin.
Personal trainers are good for will power. They tell you what to eat, and if you stray from
your diet, they kick your ass. If you're in the N.Y.C. area, use Brian Hernandez over at VIP
fitness. Hell whip your ass into shape. http://www.vipfitnesscenter.com/
Now if you have any will power, see if you can eat what my girlfriend eats for two months
straight. And, no, there are no cheat days! This is 100% of the time. Because THAT is
what it takes to lose body fat. Not these bullshit diets or pills, or stupid Oprah
recommendations, or any of these diet books. If you choose to buy a non-branded
ingredient sold by one of these no-nothing supplement companies, you're playing Russian
roulette with your own health. And I guarantee you, after one bottle you won't buy another
bottle of the same stuff again. Unless its a stimulant-containing product and you just like
the jolt you get from it. Dont believe me, or think that it could never happen to you. Do a
good search for this: death from using dietary supplements," and let me know what you
find.
What should be in your cabinet if you want to lose body fat?
Nothing UN-natural. Heres an easy rule to follow. If it looks like it was made in a
factory, dont eat it. This will help you avoid sugar.
Krill Oil. The best marine oil. More powerful than fish in every category. One of the best
brands is NKO brand.

Flax Oil. With flax oil it is very important to get fresh flax oil. Only buy flax oil from the
refrigerator. If it's not in the frig, then chances are its rancid. My company,
Proteinfactory.com, sells a great product called Omegamuscle. It's a flax seed powder
that stays fresh for over two years. It also has naturally occurring fish oil.
CLA gels. As mentioned above, the best brand is Tonalin.
Protein Powder. Of course again, my company Proteinfactory.com has the best. What
you want from us is a good anti-catabolic protein powder. Something that keeps you full
for a long period of time. The only way to reduce body fat is reduce calories. And you
want to take away those calories mostly from carbs.
If you are a man, I always recommend some sort of testosterone supplement. There are
a few brands. LJ100 and Tribex are my two favorite. Both are tough to find, but if you
can find them, youre in luck.
Here is a list of some of best testosterone products available today:
1) LJ100, manufactured by HP ingredients. LJ100 is a long jack supplement. Its the only
one thats backed by research that is shown to legitimately raise testosterone levels in
the blood by a significant amount. I Googled LJ 100 and found some companies selling
it. But the best place to buy it would be from the company themselves: http://herbal-
powers.com/. Keep in mind that you can find a ton of other Long Jack products. But
these are all Chinese rip off versions of the real stuff.
2) Testofen manufactured by Gencor Pacific. Testofen is a fenugreek extract. In clinical
studies it raised testosterone by 98%. Once again, watch out for Chinese produced
fenugreek extract.
3) Tribulus. There are 1,000 kinds, literally. And most of them are coming out of China. I
would only use one brand. Heres the link: Click Here .
This is the company that actually did the research showing how it raised testosterone
levels. Even more disturbing is how they tested other companies' products and found
very, very small amounts.
Here are some bogus testosterone supplements. These products are a complete
waste.

1) Zinc, magnesium, and aspartate otherwise known as ZMA. In 2004, a study funded
by a research grant from another supplement producing company with 42 resistance
trained males showed that ZMA supplementation had no significant effects on total and
free testosterone, IGF-1, growth hormone, cortisol, the ratio of cortisol to testosterone,
or muscle and liver enzymes in response to training. No significant effects were
observed in changes in strength, upper or lower body muscle endurance, or anaerobic
sprint capacity [3].
In another study done in 2006, a team of German scientists conducted a study on the
effect of ZMA and testosterone levels in the body [4]. The result showed an increase in
zinc secretions in urine making it much darker, like blood, but no effect on the level of
testosterone in the body.
Its funny because ZMA is sold by practically every major supplement company. Why?
Because the stuff is dirt cheap and can be sold for a huge profit. These companies know
the product is bogus; the so-called experts that work for them know the product is
bullshit, but they keep manufacturing it and keep selling it, and keep selling it. ZMA is a
scam created by that dude that gave Bonds and a whole slew of professional athletes
anabolic steroids.
2) Prohormones. These are essentially dangerous Chinese produced chemicals.
Supplement companies that sell these just try to make a fast buck playing Russian
roulette with your health. It is illegal to sell prohormones, but supplement companies and
distributors continue to do so. The FDA is constantly seizing them.
3) Gamma O. This product comes from rice bran oil. It has been around since the
1980s. Never proven to work. One supplement company tried to resurrect it recently.
Pretty funny.
What NOT to have in your cabinet at home
Anything with caffeine. Most often this is any coffee or tea product.
Sugar. Avoid sugar
Artificial sweeteners. They are all really maltodextrin, a high GI carb, sweetened with
sucralose or aspartame.
Alcohol. For obvious reasons
Pre-workout supplements. Most contain stimulants and amphetamines. These
products release cortisol in the body, which HELPS retain body fat.

ne thing that you must come to grips with is genetics. The people selling weight
loss products never like to talk about this subject. Why? Because they know that
genetics is the major factor in how you look. Unfortunately, if your genetics are
predisposed to make you fat, its an uphill battle for you. Not hopeless, but severely
uphill. If your genetics have made it easy for you to lose body fat and not retain fat, then
youre lucky. Genetics determine what kind physique you have and whether youre a hot
and sexy 10 or an average 5. Understand what type of body you have and youll be able to
visualize your future physique after you follow my steps to losing weight and gaining lean
muscle. Because even if you put in 110% effort in eating super healthy and working out
like a maniac, youre genetics will eventually make the final decision on how far you will
go. Its common sense to understand that a person who was 300 pounds is not going to
turn into a Victoria Secret Model or Abercrombie and Fitch underwear model. Come to
grips with the truth and visualize what your body will be once the fat is taken off. Then
youll be satisfied when you reach your goals. If you dont, then youll probably fall into
some sort of body dimorphic psychiatric problem. Look at your mother and father; look at
your grandparents, and most likely you have the body type of one of them.
On a side note I want to address one more thing. That thing is the use of physique
enhancing drugs. If you do happen to own a muscle magazine or a womens fitness
magazine, keep in mind that drug use is rampant with the people in these magazines. In
professional bodybuilding, it's totally out of controlsteroids, anti-estrogen, growth
hormone, diuretics, amphetamines, hcg, and God knows what else. The men and women
alike all take massive amounts of performing enhancing drugs. Listen, I dont give a crap
what they put into their bodies, but what you need to know is that the magazines give you
the assumption that these people with six pack abs, huge muscles, and asses that you can
bounce a quarter off of are experts because of their physiques. They give you advice of
how to work out and how to eat. But what they leave out is their drug regime. Performing
enhancing drugs have a major impact on ones physique. Make no mistake about it, drugs
can really improve your physique and improve it quickly. So do not be fooled by the people
in the magazines or the so-called experts. Be aware that many of them take drugs to get
the physique they have.

Everyone has a different body and everyone has a different body shape. Some people are
short; some people are tall. Some people
have large breasts and some people have
small breasts. Some people are hairy and
some people go bald. There is not a damn
thing anyone can do about it naturally. If your
genetics say you going to grow up with a
small penis, well dangnabit, youre going to
have a small penis. The same applies to
weight loss. How much body fat you carry is
heavily weighed on what type of body you
have. You might know this already, but there
are three types of body types: endomorph,
mesomorph, and ectomorph. Endomorphs
are big boned and more apt to gain body fat.
Mesomorphs have the typical athletic type
body and have an easy time gaining muscle
and losing fat. Ectomorphs are your thin
people. Skinny legs and arms, and have an
easy time losing fat and hard time gaining
muscle.
Here is a picture of my grandfather. He and I
have the same body typeectomorph. My
whole life I have been tall and thin. Therefore, I have an easy time losing body fat and hard
time gaining muscle mass. Take a good look at your body and figure out what type of body
you have and this will help you in your weight loss goals. For more information, again,
purchase Dr. Colkers book Extreme Muscle Enhancement. Dr. Colker goes into more
detail.

ow it is time to start getting in shape and losing weight. But let me make one thing
clear. Being in shape is not for lazy people. Being in shape is not for sedentary
people. Being in shape is not for people who dont like to sweat. The first 50% of
being in shape involves eating right, which means you have endure the discomfort of
hunger and craving. The second 50% of losing weight is you have to work out and
sweat. Simple as that. Youre fat because you either eat bad foods and a lot of them,
and/or you never exercise. And spare me the old, I walk for 45 minutes a day throughout
my neighborhood." Walking!! You think thats exercise!! Walking is for 75 year-old people
that are about to check out of life. Now if you dont want to eat healthy and dont want to
sweat and endure the burning feeling of your muscles being put to the test, take this book
right now and throw it in the trash can. If you think you can grow some balls and quit being
a lazy lump on a log, continue to read and I will give you some steps to begin to lose
weight.
Step #1. Stop buying weight loss products. (pills, capsules,
books, dvds, exercise machines, and magazines)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you just bought this book and that makes me a hypocrite, but this book
is different, its an anti-weight-loss industry book and it will be the last weight loss product
you will ever have to buy. Not only that, but this book will save you a ton of money in the
future. So bite me!! After reading what you have in this book, it should be pretty clear to
you that the 99.9% of anything involved in the weight-loss industry is a scam. Whether the
scam is an attempt to convince you that a newly discovered ingredient is the most effective
fat burner ever, or that a bunch of doctors doing some research study has discovered the
latest diet to lose weight, or a new ab machine is so revolutionary in the way it targets the
abs that youll have a six pack in four weeks, or a new fitness celebrity trainer has
discovered the latest routine to burn fat. Regardless of the product, the general idea is to
convince its victim, eh hem, potential buyer, that their product is effective, and not only is it
effective, but its rapidly effective. Even if it is dangerous to your health. On top of that, the
scam artist, eh hem, product sellers fantasy is to become famous, or on the top ten best
seller list of the NY times, or an infomercial guru, or to grace the cover of the fitness
magazines. The goal always remains the same, however, and that goals main purpose is
to get your money. Money that should be spent on quality food and a gym membership,
not fat burning supplements, exercise machines, diet programs, or diet books. The weight
loss products are constructed to use everything they have to temp you into buying it. And
then once you buy it, they have your information and theyll temp you into buying

something else. Mailing lists are big, big money. You can be sure if you have EVER
bought anything from, As seen on TV, your name, address, and other information has
been sold. Its time to wake up and smell the lard on your ass! There is no effective fat
burner tablet or weight loss capsule. There is no revolutionary diet in which you eat certain
foods concocted by some PHD. There is no celebrity trainer who knows something about
getting in shape that nobody else does. There is no exercise machine that will reduce your
body fat to give you a six pack. There is no special workout that will give you an ass like a
17 year-old Brazilian. Bottom line, quit staring at weight loss products on the television or
on the internet like a hungry lion looking at a wounded baby antelope. Quit getting the wool
pulled over your eyes. Okay, enough pep talk.
Step #2. Increase your will power to control hunger.
You can probably come
to the conclusion that
overweight people are
weak in the will power
department, thus they
are more easily sold
when it comes to slick
marketing by the weight
loss companies. Not
only that, but they are
desperate. Then of
course, the product that
they bought doesn't work
and a few months later
(or weeks), they buy
another weight loss
product, hoping that it
will be the magic pill to
give them six pack abs,
or an apple bottom. Will
power is everything
when it comes to weight loss. If youre fat and dont want to be fat, but keep getting fatter,
then you dont have any will power. If you are a fat ass and dont give a shit, then you just
dont give a shit and its got nothing to do with will power. So the next step to lose weight is
to learn will power. Can will power be learned? Can it be taught? I dont think so. Can

you know what it is? Damn right you can! So at least if you are fat and find yourself eating
bad food, day in and day out, you can say to yourself that you have NO WILL POWER!
Im not going to give some sort of speech here and try to motivate you to try to be
disciplined and eat right and exercise. Im sure there are 1,000 books about will power and
self-discipline, which Im sure, are all bullshit. There is nothing easy about having will
power. Its probably the most difficult thing to do, to have discipline and to ignore the
discomfort. In this case, the discomfort is hunger. You must learn to control your hunger;
its as simple as that. Once you learn to control your hunger, you will start to lose weight.
Before you start "Goggling appetite suppressant supplements, let me save you some
time. Dont buy them! What the freak did I just say was step #1? Stop buying shit!!
Controlling hunger must come from within. WTF, I sound like Mr. Miagi from the karate kid
movie!
Step #3. Eat right
Food. Its why youre a fat ass. There is no other way to look at it. And please spare me
the freakin' excuses that it's your thyroid, pregnancy weight, or any other excuse you can
come up with. The reason you're fat is because you eat too much food. The fat creating
that gut on you just doesn't grow by itself. It got there because the food you ate surpassed
the energy you put out on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis and it was stored as
body fat. And, oh gosh, please, please dont be one of those people who believes that
muscle turns into fat. It doesn'tmuscle does NOT turn into fat. The reason why you are
fat is because of the food that you are willingly putting into your mouth.
Therefore, step #3 is to start eating healthy. It sounds like common sense, but to all you fat
asses out there, it isn't. You go from eating 3,000 calories a day to Weight Watchers. Are
you kidding me? Why don't you go from eating 3,000 calories a day to eating chicken
breasts, fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, healthy juices, protein shakes, and water? Ewww, I
don't like the taste of that stuff!! That is probably the biggest thing I hear from people who
are fat. I don't like the taste of that protein shake! How old are you? Six? If you want to be
lean, fit, muscular, have a six pack, get rid of the cellulite on your hamstrings, you WILL be
sacrificing all of the best tasting food. No more cake, no more cookies, no more ice
cream; its over, done, finite!! Nothing makes me laugh more when I see commercials on
TV advertising low-calorie brownies. Losing weight is about changing the way you eat. The
faster you put these types of food out of your diet, the quicker you will lose weight. The
faster you learn how to drink protein shakes and other food products that aren't made with
sugar and fructose, the faster youll gain muscle mass. Therefore, step #3 is eat right.

Its funny because I am convinced that 90% of the population in the United States knows
what good food is and what bad food is. If you can honestly tell me that you do not know
what healthy food is, then youre a liar. The problem is that the authors of these weight
loss diet books have made every attempt to make fat people think that you have to eat
special foods at certain times in order to lose body fat. Its all a lie. There are no special
foods; there are no special recipes, and there are no special diets. All you need to do is
eat healthy. Eat protein; eat fruits and veggies, and drink water or juice. Its as simple as
that. Secondly, eat as much protein as you want; drink as much water as you want, and
scarf down all the fruits and veggies you want. Do this and youll lose weight. I guarantee
it. Stock your pantry and frig with healthy food. Throw out anything that looks like it was
made in a factory and youre all set. And if youre rich and have a personal chef, have a
wife or girlfriend that loves to cook, or you yourself love to cook, then eating healthy is a lot
easier. I dont cook, so I rely on protein shakes and MRPs.

Step #4. Learn how to exercise with intensity.
I cant tell you how many times I go into the gym and see 20 or 30 people killing
themselves on the cardio machines. Whether its the treadmill, the bike, or any other
machine that the manufacturers can conjure up. Get this through your head, cardio
machines in the gym are a complete waste of time. Cardio is for pussys! They drive the
body into a catabolic state, which makes it harder to lose fat, easier to lose muscle, and
more prone to gaining body fat. Therefore, the first thing you need to start doing if you are
overweight is to start pumping iron. This is the biggest myth associated with womenthat
if a women starts to lift weight she will bulk up. Totally false. If you are fat and want to
lose weight, you need to start bodybuilding. Its as simple as that. In previous chapters I
mentioned what exercises are needed to learn how to begin to body build. Master these
exercises and you are on your way to losing weight.
Ive been to many, many gyms. And the funny thing is that I never see an overweight
person perform a barbell squat. Or a deadlift. Or a military press. I see plenty of fat people
on the treadmill. I see plenty of plumpers on the nautilus ab machine. You gotta ask
yourself, are you one of these people. Do you move from machine to machine, randomly
going through the moves? Or do you knock out 8 sets of barbell squats of 20 reps each?
Barbell squats involve intensity. It takes 110% of your concentration and physical
strength. Its an uncomfortable movement for most people. I would say the barbell squat is
probably one of the least performed exercises. Out of 100 people in my gym on any given
night at 5:30 p.m., 30% are doing cardio, 30% are doing chest exercises, 10% are doing
arms, 10% are doing back, 5% are doing abs, 5% are doing shoulders, and 1% are doing
legs. And the people who are doing legs, most of them either do the leg press or the leg
extension. If I do see someone perform a barbell squat, 95% of the time its a male, and
95% of the time he does not perform the movement correctly. I cant remember the last
time I saw a women squat. About three months ago I did see a woman performing barbell
squats, and guess what? She had great legs, a great ass, and a lean stomach.
Most people perform a squat going only half way down. A correct squat is to go all the way
down and all the way without hesitating. To continually pump the quads, like a piston. If
you are a woman, your top priority should be your legs and your ass. Build your leg
muscles, build your glutes and hamstrings, youre going to lose weight and have sexier
legs. Think about it, will the top half of your body stay fat while the lower half is ripped and
toned? No!! The body does not spot fat loss. Body fat is loss throughout the entire
body. Depending on genetics, some areas will respond better than others, but generally
speaking, the body equally loses body fat. Because your lower half should be your top
priority, the KING of lower body exercises is the barbell squat. Ask any so-called expert

and they cannot tell you that there is one exercise that is superior to the squat. If you want
to read more about squatting, pick up Dr. Colkers book, Extreme Muscle Enhancement. It
tells you exactly how to perform a squat.
Ive been going to the gym since I was 17. In that time I have fine-tuned my weight-lifting
techniques. But that doesn't mean I am an expert. I truly believe that you can never stop
learning how to perfect your form to stimulate the muscle. That being said, Im going to
give you list of things I see people in the gym perform that absolutely make no sense and
is a complete waste of time. The key to losing weight is to train intensely, to stimulate the
muscle to grow, not just go to the gym, run on the tread mill for 45 minutes, use some
machines, do some sit-ups and then go home. Go to the gym with the intent on busting
your ass, working through the burn of the muscle being worked, and leaving with the
muscle exhausted. The average time you should spend in the gym is 45 minutes top. Any
longer than that then you are not putting in enough intensity. You shouldn't be able to
perform 20 sets of any given body part. 10 to 15 sets are all that is required to really work
the muscle. Go in, go hard, and get out!
Here is a little something I put together so that once you start to go to the gym, you won't
make these mistakes. It will save you a lot of time, and if you avoid these things it will give
you quicker results.
Stupid Things People Do in the Gym.
1. Partial reps. I see this in about 80% of people who lift with free weights and
dumbbells. The key to muscle growth is to stimulate as much muscle mass as
possible. Using weights which do not allow you a full range of motion is just dumb.
Ive talked about this previously, but squats, hack squats, dumbbell bench press and
flys, barbell curls and shoulder presses with barbells or dumbbells are the most
abused exercises when it comes to partial reps. I cant tell you how many times I
see guys trying to shoulder press 80 pound dumbbells and barely go half way
down. Theyre screaming and trying to be all bad-ass, but meanwhile they are not
even preforming the exercise correctly. The most idiotic is when I see guys do a
barbell bench press and go only half way down. Moronic. Barbell curls should be
performed so that the arms fully extend, not stopping before full extension. The
reason why you use dumbbells is to extend the range of motion, not make it
shorter. Thus, when benching with dumbbells, you should stretch the pectorals, not
stop the movement before the dumbbell even reaches the chest.
2. Swinging weights. This is when you try to use a weight that is too heavy for you
and then in order to compensate your weakness you swing your body to perform the
WEIGHT LOSS AND FAT BURNING: SUCKERS, SCAMS, LIES, FAD DIETS, BOGUS PRODUCTS,
AND HOW NOT TO BECOME A VICTIM OF THE WEIGHT-LOSS INDUSTRY

lift. The most common exercises I see this performed with is dumbbells, flys and
barbell curls. Again, I cant tell you how many times I see a guy swinging his back to
perform a barbell curl. Or a person bouncing moronically at the knees to lift the
dumbbells when doing fly. Lower the weight and use the muscle that is supposed to
be used.
3. Cardio. I have gone over this 1,000 times. If its not yet drilled into your head hard
enough, STAY OFF THE DAMN CARDIO MACHINES UNTIL YOU LEARN TO
MASTER THE FIVE MAIN FREE WEIGHT EXERCISES.
4. Using machines. Again, in general, if you have not mastered free weights, then
you have no business doing machines. Again, if youre fat, plump, pudgy, or want to
look 17 again, cardio and machines is a short path to failure. Barbells and dumbbells
is the way to go.
5. Drinking Coffee and/or energy drinks pre-workout and during workout. For a
span of a couple of years I would work out in the very early morning right after I
woke upat about 6 a.m. I would get into the gym and always see a few people
walking around drinking coffee or an energy drinkmostly coffee. As I said in
previous chapters, coffee releases cortisol, and cortisol hinders fat loss. If you want
to lose weight, do not drink caffeine products. Yes, they do give you a jolt. Yes,
studies show that caffeine does increase performance, but weight loss is not a
sprint, it's a life style change. Its a fact that caffeine releases cortisol, and cortisol is
a catabolic hormone. Energy drinks are worse. Avoid stimulants pre-workout, or
really any time, if you want a good looking low-fat body.
6. Drinking a shake from the smoothie bar at the particular gym you go to. Now
this might not apply to everyones juice bar, but I have had a good look at many of
these so-called nutritional companies that sell product to gyms. These products are
made up of crap, mainly fructose, dextrose, and maltodextrin , (unless the powder is
from Proteinfactory.com!!). These by-products of the corn industry are the last thing
you want post-workout. That leads me into post-workout nutrition. If you trying to
lose weight always have a protein shake post-workout. It should look something like
this.
16 oz. of water
1 fruit of choice (like strawberries and blueberries)
25 grams of a whey isolate/casein protein blend

Never make the mistake of just having protein post-workout and not having carbs. If you
do that the protein will simply be used as energy and not where you really want the amino
acids from the protein goingto the muscle.
Step #5 Jump up and down in front of the mirrornaked
Forget the scale; the scale means nothing. It doesn't matter worth a jack shit what the
scale says if its between 1 and 10 pounds. I can wake up and weight 185 and go to bed
weighing 189 pounds. Instead of using the scale to judge your weight loss, simply go to a
full length mirror and jump up and down rapidly. Youll be able to see all your fat on your
body jiggle up and down. It's actually quite disgusting, and it will really motivate you to lose
the weight.
So there it is. My
steps on how to get
ripped and lose 30
pounds in six weeks
and have that stomach
youve always wanted!!
LMAO! Yeah, right, if
only it was that easy.
Losing weight isnt
easy. Its hard work,
but personally I like to
sweat and feel the
muscle burn. And
possibly you can learn
to like it, too.

In Conclusion
At an early age, I knew I was destined for greatness.
I started working in the nutritional industry back in 1997 because I was getting ripped off.
That was the main driving force behind my starting my own business, plus the fact that I
was bored working at my fathers pet store. I was buying a protein that was giving me
terrible digestive problems, yet it was advertised as the most advanced form of protein
ever made. And then little ole me, who had no experience whatsoever in the supplement
industry or no formal education in food science or chemistry, was able to create a product
that was better than this globally popular whey protein powder. Mine had more protein, no

than the best-selling protein in the world.

This did two things inside my mind. The first was that it gave me confidence that I could
make a product better than million dollar companies if I worked hard enough. And second,
it made me realize that the nutritional industry, specifically the sports nutrition and weight-
loss industry, really didn't care about the quality of products that they sell to their
customers as long as they were selling a boat load and making a huge profit. Therefore,
when I started Proteinfactory.com, my marketing efforts were simple at best. I started to
tell everyone about my whey isolate compared to everyone elses whey protein
concentrate. I thought I was doing everyone a big favor, and at the same time I would sell
my protein powder. I thought I was exposing the truth about whey protein. I thought I was
going to revolutionize the sports nutrition industry because whey isolate, the product that
only my company was selling, was better than whey concentrate, the product that all other
supplement companies were selling. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
In 1999, I headed to the largest fitness, bodybuilding, and sports nutrition expo in the
worldthe Arnold Classic. I had the perception that I was going to blow the lid off the
sports nutrition industryI would be a rising star, and my company would flourish. The
Arnold Classic is held in Columbus, Ohio and Arnold Schwarzenegger made an
appearance, being that it is his show. I paid, I think $1,500 for the booth space. My booth
was pathetic looking, no fancy signs, no lights, and no girls with big fat tits handing out
samples. But I did my best to try to tell the thousands upon thousands of people that were
attending the expo about my whey isolate. Nobody cared. In fact, most of the people I
talked to seemed to get mad. Here I was, a skinny guy, trying to tell these juiced-up 280
pound monsters that the whey protein concentrate that they were spending hundreds, if
not thousands of dollars a year on, was a waste and that my whey isolate was better. The
look on these guy's faces was one of confusion and anger. Because, how could they be
wrong? They're 280 pounds of rock-hard muscle, and Im only 180 pounds. People look
up to them at the gym and ask them for advice all the timetheyre the experts, not me!
This would mean that all along they were recommending an inferior product! Needless to
say, I avoided any confrontation those three days I was at the Arnold Classic.
I left the Arnold Classic not knowing what kind of results I was going to get from my efforts.
Days turned into weeks and the feedback we got from the Arnold Classic was very
disappointing. Even though I had a better product, I could not compete against the
marketing machines of the larger supplement companies. But this did not deter me. I
continued selling my whey isolate and my customization concept. My business slowly
grew. As it grew, I started to get the attention of the other supplement companies. The
other supplement companies started to post on the internet that my protein was failing lab
tests. A lie of course, but this was the first time I was directly affected by these scumbag

sports nutrition companies. Essentially, what they were trying to do was crush and then
shut the mouth of the little guy exposing the truth. I sued the guy and the company that
posted on the internet and I lost. The judge was 75 years old and had never heard of the
internet, let alone message boards. But again, this did not deter me, nor turn me to join the
dark side of the sport's nutrition industry. I refused to be swayed, and I would continue to
preach that my products were better than everyone elses. I would educate everyone on
how to figure out protein percentage of powders and what proprietary information really
meant.
My second year at the Arnold Classic. I hired these two booth babes. Needless to say,
another failure. Boobs dont sell protein. Im on the left and my good friend Kevin is
between the booth babes.

Year after year, my business continued to grow. I continued to come out with better
products than the mega sports nutrition competition could. Once I had a meeting with a
company that at one time had the #1 selling weight loss product in the world. I was talking
to them about a new protein powder I had created. I was sitting in front of the presidents
desk, and sitting next to me was the vice-president. As I was explaining the product, the
cocky, short, balding VP of this company looked at me and said, How the hell do you think
of these things? I just looked at him and shrugged my shoulders. As I left their office, I
thought to myself, No amount of money can come up with ideas. Ideas are born inside
the brain, not with money.
About two years ago, I decided I was going to write this book. I decided to write this book
because the sports nutrition industry and the weight-loss industry is at an all-time low
point, morality wise. Never before have I seen such scammy, fake, bogus, and just plain
unhealthy products. Quality is at an all-time low, yet the marketing, the labels, the ads, and
the infomercials are getting more cunning and deceptive than ever. More and more people
are getting sick, needing organ transplants, and dying, all from the use of dietary
supplements being manufactured in China and being assembled in the United States by
reckless contract packagers. Nobody seems to have any integrity. Whether its a fitness
celebrity, expert, or health practitioner, they all sell out one way or another. Dangle a big
fat juicy carrot in front of any of these so-called fitness experts and they will all take a big
fat BITE!! All they care about is making money. I am sick and tired and frustrated at these
sleaze balls making money off of bogus products and ridiculous claims.
As I sit back at my desk and plan my next cool new product or products, I ponder that I
have learned several things during my time after college, marriage, running
Proteinfactory.com, kids, divorce, and personal hardships. That above all, truth is the best
route to go. Whether it's in business, in a relationship, with your family, or even with
yourself. Honesty is always the best policy. Being dishonest, self-denial, cheating, lying,
and deception only survive for a short period of time. Being truthful and honest with
yourself and the people around you will always let you have a good night's sleep.
Be original and come up with your own ideas; don't be a follower. Trying to be someone
else to please others, eventually, you will fizzle out. Have passion for what you do and
dont let anyone piss on you.

If youre overweight, reach back and take a good look at yourself from the inside out. Be
truthful and honest with yourself. Do that and youll lose weight; dont, and youll always
fall victim to the evils of the weight-loss industry because you're relying on others to help
you reach your goals. Rely on yourself and your own will power and self-discipline.

September 8, 2011: Axis Labs Charged with Mail Fraud in
Connection with Distribution of Product Containing
Synthetic Anabolic Steroids
U.S. Department of Justice Press Release
For Immediate Release
September 8, 2011

United States Attorney
District of New Colorado
John F. Walsh
DENVER Axis Labs, LLC, a company based in Centennial, Colorado, has
been charged by Information with one count of mail fraud in connection to the illegal
distribution of a product called Monster Caps which contained synthetic anabolic
steroids, United States Attorney John Walsh and FDA Office of Criminal Investigations
Special Agent in Charge Patrick Holland announced. An attorney and a representative
of Axis Labs appeared in U.S. District Court in Denver yesterday to be advised of the
charges pending against the company.
According to the Information, Axis Labs engaged in the business of
manufacturing, labeling, shipping and selling certain food products. The business was
active in and responsible for the distribution and marketing of a product called Monster
Caps. The intended use of the product was to enable weight loss and the production of
muscle mass. The product falsely purported pursuant to its label to be a dietary
supplement and therefore could be distributed and dispensed without prior approval
from the FDA and without a prescription from a duly authorized physician.
Monster Caps contained anabolic steroids, or similar synthetic compounds.
Because Axis Labs intended these products to affect the structure and function of the
human body, they were actually drugs regulated by United States Code. Moreover, they
were also new drugs and lacked the approved New Drug Application also required by
United States Code.
Between June 2008 and May 2009, Axis Labs sold Monster Caps on the

internet, to customers throughout the United States without the required FDA approval
for a new drug and without requiring a prescription. The company distributed the
product by delivering it, or causing it to be delivered to customers via the United States
Mail, or UPS.
It is critically important that consumers know the contents of what they are
consuming, said U.S. Attorney John Walsh. In this case, the product contained
synthetic anabolic steroids, and because of its potential for harm, it was a prescription
drug that could only be dispensed pursuant to a valid prescription. Thus, the defendants
distribution of this product put consumers health at risk.
Consumers need to have confidence that products claiming to be dietary
supplements are not, in fact, unapproved new drugs, said Patrick J. Holland, Special
Agent in Charge of the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations. We will aggressively
investigate those who place profits over public health by marketing purported dietary
supplements that contain drug substances such as synthetic anabolic steroids.
Axis Labs, LLC faces a fine of up to $500,000.
This case was investigated by Food and Drug Administration Office of
Criminal Investigations.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jaime Pena and Tonya
Andrews.
The charges contained in the Information are allegations, and the defendant is
presumed innocent unless and until found guilty.

Dear Mr. Ethington:
This letter is to advise you that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United
States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have reviewed your firms product labeling and your website at
www.hcgdietdirect.com. Based on our review, HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops is an unapproved new drug
in violation of sections 301 and 505 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) [21 U.S.C.
331 and 355] and is misbranded in violation of sections 503 and 301 of the Act [21 U.S.C. 353 and 331].
In addition, it is unlawful under the FTC Act, 15 U.S.C. 41 et seq., to advertise that a product can prevent,
treat, or cure human disease unless you possess competent and reliable scientific evidence, including, when
appropriate, well-controlled human clinical studies, substantiating that the claims are true at the time they
are made. See FTC v. Direct Mktg. Concepts, 569 F. Supp. 2d 285, 300, 303 (D. Mass. 2008), affd, 624

are not limited to, the following:

In addition to the above, your website documents the intended uses of your products including, but not
limited to, the following:

HCG Diet Direct formula stimulates the bodys natural ability to make adjustments to alleviate
imbalances.
We recognize that a number of pages on your website contain a disclaimer stating that the products are not
intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. However, notwithstanding this disclaimer, the
claims made on your product labeling and website for HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops clearly demonstrate
that this product is a drug as defined by section 201(g)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 321(g)(1)], because it is
intended to affect the structure or any function of the body.
Further, HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops is a new drug within the meaning of section 201(p) of the Act
[21 U.S.C. 321(p)] because there is no evidence that it is generally recognized as safe and effective for its
intended uses.
Under sections 301(d) and 505(a) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 331(d) and 355(a)], a new drug may not be
introduced or delivered for introduction into interstate commerce unless an application approved by FDA
under either section 505(b) or (j) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 355(b) or (j)] is in effect for the product. There is
no FDA-approved application on file for the above product. Therefore, the marketing of HCG Diet
Homeopathic Drops without an approved application constitutes a violation of these provisions of the Act.
We recognize that labeling identifies this product as a homeopathic drug with active ingredients measured in
homeopathic strengths.[1] The definition of drug in section 201(g)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 321(g)(1)]
includes articles recognized in the official Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS), or any
supplement to it. Homeopathic drugs are subject to the same regulatory requirements as other drugs; nothing
in the Act exempts homeopathic drugs from any of the requirements related to adulteration, labeling,
misbranding, or approval. We acknowledge that many homeopathic drugs are manufactured and distributed
without FDA approval under enforcement policies set out in the Agencys Compliance Policy Guide entitled
Conditions Under Which Homeopathic Drugs May be Marketed (CPG 7132.15) (the CPG). As its title
suggests, the CPG identifies specific conditions under which homeopathic drugs may ordinarily be
marketed; thus, in order to fall under the enforcement policies set forth in the CPG, a homeopathic product
must meet the conditions set forth in the CPG. The CPG defines a homeopathic drug as: Any drug labeled
as being homeopathic which is listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS), an
addendum to it, or its supplements. The CPG additionally states that drug products containing
homeopathic ingredients in combination with non-homeopathic active ingredients are not homeopathic drug
products.

HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops lists its active ingredients as HCG 12,30,60x, Arginine 3x,12x,30x, L-
Carnitine 3x,12x,30x and Ornithine 3x,12x,30x, Foeniculim vulgare 2x, Antimonium crudum 8x, Gallium
[sic] aparine 6x, Rubus idaeus 6x, Calcarea carbonica 6x, Lac defloratum 6x, Manganum metallicum 6x and
Phosphorus 6x. Although, Foeniculim vulgare, Antimonium crudum, Gallium [sic] aparine, Calcarea
carbonica, Lac defloratum, Manganum metallicum, and Phosphorus are established homeopathic ingredients
listed in the HPUS, HCG, Arginine, and L-Carnitine are not established homeopathic active ingredients
included in the HPUS or any of the addenda or supplements. Furthermore, to our knowledge, HCG,
Arginine, and L-Carnitine are not listed in any recognized materia medica containing information on the
preparation of homeopathic medicines. Therefore, HCG, Arginine, and L-Carnitine are not considered
homeopathic drug ingredients and HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops is not considered a homeopathic drug
product under the CPG. Accordingly, the policies set forth in the CPG for the marketing of homeopathic
drug products do not apply to HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops.
HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops is a prescription drug under section 503(b)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C.
353(b)(1)]. Section 503(b)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 353(b)(1)] provides that a drug which because of its
toxicity or other potentiality for harmful effect, or the method of its use, or the collateral measures necessary
to its use, is not safe for use except under the supervision of a practitioner licensed by law to administer
such drug shall be dispensed upon a prescription by a practitioner licensed by law to administer such
drug. Your labeling provides that your product should be taken in conjunction with a very low calorie diet
(VLCD). A VLCD should only be used under proper medical supervision. Because it is subject to section
503(b)(1) of the Act, HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops is misbranded under section 503(b)(4) of the Act [21
U.S.C. 353(b)(4)] in that its label fails to bear the symbol, "Rx only."[2] Your marketing of this
misbranded product violates sections 301(a) and (k) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 331(a) and (k)].
The issues and violations cited in this letter are not intended to be an all-inclusive statement of violations
that exist in connection with your products. You are responsible for investigating and determining the
causes of the violations identified above and for preventing their recurrence or the occurrence of other
violations. It is your responsibility to assure that your firm complies with all requirements of federal law and
FDA regulations.
You should take prompt action to correct the violations cited in this letter. Failure to promptly correct these
violations may result in legal action without further notice, including, without limitation, seizure and
injunction. Other federal agencies may take this Warning Letter into account when considering the award of
contracts.
We note that under section 201(ff)(3)(B) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 321 (ff)(3)(B)], dietary supplements cannot
contain an article that is approved as a new drug under section 505, which was not marketed as a dietary
supplement or food prior to FDA approval of such drug. FDA approved Pregnyl, which contains HCG as
the active ingredient, as a new drug on October 20, 1976. To FDA's knowledge there is no evidence that
HCG was marketed as a dietary supplement or food prior to FDA approval of Pregnyl. As such, a product
containing HCG could not be a dietary supplement.
In addition, we have the following comment: Your firms website, www.hcgdietdirect.com, makes use of
the FDA logo. The FDA logo is for the official use of FDA and not for the use of the private sector. To the
public, such use would send a message that FDA favors or endorses an organization, its activities, its

products, its services, and/or its personnel which it does not and cannot do. Misuse of the FDA logo may

that you pay back money to consumers. Please notify FTC via electronic mail at healthproducts@ftc.gov,

(D.C. Cir. Dec. 10, 2010).
Your website documents the intended uses of your products including, but not limited to, the following:
"After successfully completing the weight loss protocol, the body should have reset its 'set point' to a
new lower weight."
"HCG Fusion drops allow your body to bum the abnormal fat for energy instead of the food you would
typically consume."
"When a combination of a VLCD and an exact amount of HCG Fusion drops is used, it signals to the
body to access and start using and burning the stored fat for energy."
"Uses ................. Appetite Control & Detox"
We recognize that a number of pages on your website contain a disclaimer stating that the products are not
intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. However, notwithstanding this disclaimer, the
claims made on your website for "HCG Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43" clearly demonstrate that these
products are drugs as defined by section 201(g)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 321(g)(1)], because they are
intended to affect the structure or any function of the body.
Further, "HCG Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43" are "new drugs" within the meaning of section 201(p) of
the Act [21 U.S. C. 321(p)] because they are not generally recognized as safe and effective for their
intended uses.
There are
no FDA-approved applications on file for the above products. The marketing of "HCG Fusion 30" and
"HCG Fusion 43" without approved applications constitutes a violation of these provisions of the Act.
We recognize that labeling identifies these products as homeopathic drugs with active ingredients measured
in homeopathic strengths.
1
The definition of "drug" in section 201(g)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 321(g)(1)]
includes articles recognized in the official Homeopathic Phmmacopeia of the United States (HPUS), or any
supplement to it. Homeopathic drugs are subject to the same regulatory requirements as other drugs; nothing
in the Act exempts homeopathic drugs from any of the requirements related to adulteration, labeling,
misbranding, or approval. We acknowledge that many homeopathic drugs are manufactured and distributed
without FDA approval under enforcement policies set out in the Agency's Compliance Policy Guide entitled
"Conditions Under Which Homeopathic Drugs May be Marketed (CPG 7132.15)" (the CPG). As its title
suggests, the CPG identifies specific conditions under which homeopathic drugs may ordinarily be
marketed; thus, in order to fall under the enforcement policies set forth in the CPG, a homeopathic product
must meet the conditions set forth in the CPG. The CPG defines a homeopathic drug as: "Any drug labeled
as being homeopathic which is listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS), an
addendum to it, or its supplements." The CPG additionally states that "[d]rug products containing
homeopathic ingredients in combination with non-homeopathic active ingredients are not homeopathic drug
products."
According to your website and package labeling, "HCG Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43" contain "HCG
(Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), 6x, l2x, 30x, 60x, Vitamin B12 3x,12x, 30x, Mag Phos cell salt 3x, 12x,

established as homeopathic active ingredients in the HPUS, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), Vitamin
B12, L-Oranthine, L-Arginine, and Acetyl L-Camitine are not established homeopathic active ingredients
included in the HPUS or any of the addenda or supplements. Furthermore, to our knowledge, HCG, Vitamin
B12, L-Oranthine, LArginine, and Acetyl L-Carnitine are not listed in any recognized 128onnect128 medica
containing information on the preparation of homeopathic medicines. Therefore, HCG,Vitamin B 12, L-
Oran thine, L-Arginine, and Acetyl L-Camitine are not considered homeopathic drug ingredients and "HCG
Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43" are not considered homeopathic drug products under the CPG.
Accordingly, the policies set forth in the CPG for the marketing of homeopathic drug products do not apply
to "HCG Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43."
"HCG Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43" are prescription drugs under section 503(b)(1) of the Act [21
U.S.C. 353(b)(1)]. Section 503(b)(1) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 353(b)(1)] provides that a drug which
"because of its toxicity or other potentiality for harmful effect, or the method of its use, or the collateral
measures necessary to its use, is not safe for use except under the supervision of a practitioner licensed by
law to administer such drug" shall be dispensed only upon a prescription by a practitioner licensed by law to
administer such drug. Your labeling provides that your product should be taken in conjunction with a very
low calorie diet (VLCD). A VLCD should only be used under proper medical supervision. Because they are
subject to section 503(b )(I) of the Act, "HCG Fusion 30" and "HCG Fusion 43" are misbranded under
section 503(b)(4) of the Act [21 U.S.C. 353(b)(4)] in that their labels fail to bear the symbol, "Rx
only."
2
Your marketing of these misbranded products violates sections 301(a) and (k) of the Act [21 U.S.C.
You should take prompt action to 128onnect the violations cited in this letter. Failure to promptly 128onnect
these violations may result in legal action without further notice, including, without limitation, seizure and
injunction. Other federal agencies may take this Waming Letter into account when consideling the award of
To FDA's knowledge there is no evidence that
HCG was marketed as a dietary supplement or food plior to FDA approval of Pregnyl. As such, a product
containing HCG could not be a dietary supplement.
In addition, we have the following comment: Your firm's website, www.hcgfusion.com makes use of the
FDA logo. The FDA logo is for the official use of FDA and not for the use of the private sector. To the
public, such use would send a message that FDA favors or endorses an organization, its activities, its
products, its services, and/or its personnel which it does not and cannot do. Misuse of the FDA logo may
violate federal law and subject those responsible to civil and/or criminal liability.
Within fifteen working days of receipt of this letter, please notify this office in writing of the specific steps
that you have taken to correct 128 violations. Include an explanation of each step being taken to prevent the

The Agency's guidance, "Conditions Under Which Homeopathic Drugs May be Marketed (CPG
7132.15)," states that, in accordance with 503(b)(1) of the Act, homeopathic drug products offered for
conditions that require diagnosis or treatment by a licensed practitioner must bear the prescription legend,
"Caution: Federal law prohibits dispensing without prescription." This guidance was issued by the agency in
1988. In 1997,Congress enacted the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act (FDAMA); section
126 of FDAMA amended 503(b)(4) of the Act to require that the label of a prescription drug must bear the
symbol "Rx only."

Beware of Fraudulent Weight-

essages like these on weight-loss products taunt consumers looking for a
quick and easy way to shed pounds. But these products dont live up to their claims.
Even worse, they can cause serious harm, say federal regulators, who have found dozens of
products being touted as dietary supplements but that actually contain hidden prescription drugs
or compounds that have not been adequately studied in humans.
These products are not legal dietary supplements, says Michael Levy, director of the Food and Drug
Administrations (FDAs) Division of New Drugs and Labeling Compliance. They are actually very

powerful drugs masquerading as all-natural or herbal supplements, and they carry significant risks to
unsuspecting consumers.
We have seen deaths associated with these weight-loss products, adds Levy. Make no mistakethey can
kill you.
Tainted Products
FDA has found weight-loss products tainted with the prescription drug ingredient sibutramine. This
ingredient was in an FDA-approved drug called Meridia, which was removed from the market in October
2010 because it caused heart problems and strokes.
We have seen deaths associated
with these weight-loss products.
Make no mistakethey can kill
you.
FDA has also found other prescription drug ingredients that have been removed from the market or never
approved at all.
Weve found other weight-loss products marketed as supplements that contain dangerous concoctions of
hidden ingredients including seizure medications, blood pressure medications, and other drugs not approved
in the U.S., says Levy.
Many of these tainted products are imported and sold through the Internet, but some can also be found on
store shelves. FDA has made it a priority to seek out these dangerous products, stop them from being
imported, and take legal action against firms that manufacture and distribute them.
But the problem is so big that FDA needs help. The agency is reaching out to the dietary supplement
industry to help eliminate the availability and sale of these products. And FDA is enlisting the help of
consumers.
We also need consumers to be aware of these dangerous products and to learn how to identify and avoid
them, says Levy. (See FDAs Web page and video, www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Con-
sumers/BuyingUsingMedicineSafely/MedicationHealthFraud/ucm243756.htm, on how to recognize
fraudulent weight-loss products and claims.)
Dont Fall for Fraud
Look for potential warning signs of tainted products, such as
promises of quick action, such as lose 10 pounds in one week
use of the words guaranteed or scientific breakthrough

marketed through mass e-mails
marketed as an herbal alternative to an FDA-approved drug or as having effects similar to prescription

Advice for Consumers
Generally, if you are using or considering using any product marketed as a dietary supplement, FDA
suggests that you
check with your health care professional or a registered dietitian about any nutrients you may need in
addition to your regular diet
ask your health care professional for help distinguishing between reliable and questionable information
ask yourself if it sounds too good to be true
Be cautious if the claims for the product seem exaggerated or unrealistic.
Watch out for extreme claims such as quick and effective or totally safe.
Be skeptical about anecdotal information from personal testimonials about incredible benefits or results
obtained from using a product.
If you suspect a dietary supplement sold online may be illegal, FDA urges you to report that information
online (www.fda.gov/Safety/ReportaProblem/ ucm059315.htm). You or your health care professional can
also report an illness or injury you believe to be related to the use of a dietary supplement by calling 1-800-
FDA-1088 or visiting FDA online
(www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/ HowToReport/ucm053074.htm).
Dietary Supplements and FDA
Dietary supplements, in general, are not FDA-approved. Under the law (Dietary Supplement Health and
Education Act of 1994), dietary supplement firms do not need FDA approval prior to marketing their
products. It is the companys responsibility to make sure its products are safe and that any claims are true.
Just because you see a supplement product on a store shelf does NOT mean it is safe or effective. When
safety issues are suspected, FDA must investigate and, when warranted, take steps to have the product
removed from the market. However, it is much easier for a firm to get a product on the market than it is for
FDA to take a product off the market.
FDA has worked with industry to recall more than 40 products marketed for weight loss with potentially
harmful ingredients, and has issued consumer alerts about dozens more. The agency also has issued warning
letters, seized products, and criminally prosecuted people responsible for these illegal diet products.
FDA cannot test all products on the market to identify those that contain potentially harmful hidden ingredi-
ents. FDA has created an RSS feed
(www.fda.gov/AboutFDA/ContactFDA/ StayInformed/RSSFeeds/TDS/rss.xml) to alert consumers more
rapidly when FDA finds a tainted product. Find this and other Consumer Updates at www.fda.gov/

Consumer Warning on
Hydroxycut Products
This picture shows some of the Hydroxycut products that are being recalled.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers to
immediately stop using Hydroxycut products by Iovate Health Sciences
Inc., of Oakville, Ontario and distributed by Iovate Health Sciences USA
Inc. of Blasdell, N.Y. Some Hydroxycut products are associated with a
number of serious liver injuries. Iovate has agreed to recall Hydroxycut
products from the market.

Hydroxycut products are dietary supplements that are marketed for weight loss, as fat burners, as
energy-enhancers, as low carb diet aids, and for water loss under the Iovate and MuscleTech brand
names.
Serious Health Risks
FDA has received 23 reports of serious health problems ranging from jaundice and elevated liver
enzymes, an indicator of potential liver injury, to liver damage requiring liver transplant. One death due
to liver failure has been reported to the FDA.
Liver injury, although rare, was reported by patients at the doses of Hydroxycut recommended on the
bottle. Symptoms of liver injury include jaundice (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes) and
brown urine. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, light-colored stools, excessive fatigue,
weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, itching, and loss of appetite.
Other health problems reported include seizures; cardiovascular disorders; and rhabdomyolysis, a type
of muscle damage that can lead to other serious health problems such as kidney failure.
FDA urges consumers to stop using Hydroxycut products in order to avoid any undue risk, says Linda
Katz, M.D., interim chief medical officer of FDAs Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
Adverse events are rare, but exist, Katz says. Consumers should consult a physician or other health
care professional if they are experiencing symptoms possibly associated with these products.
Consumers who have the recalled products are advised to stop using them and to return them to the
place of purchase. The agency has not yet determined which ingredients, dosages, or other health-related
factors may be associated with risks related to these Hydroxycut products. The products contain a
variety of ingredients and herbal extracts.
Health care professionals and consumers are encouraged to report serious adverse events (side effects)
or product quality problems with the use of these products to FDAs MedWatch Adverse Event
Reporting program online, by regular mail, fax or phone.

Federal Agents Seize Nearly $1.3 Million of Illegal Dietary Supplements
Products alleged to be adulterated under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act
At the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, on Wednesday U.S. Marshals seized more
than $1,301,712 of dietary supplements from LG Sciences, LLC, of Brighton, Mich., because the
products contain unapproved food additives and/or new dietary ingredients that cause the products to
violate the law. Labeled as dietary supplements, the products are marketed for use by body builders.
The dietary supplements seized were marketed and distributed on-line and in retail stores under the
names "Methyl 1-D," "Methyl 1-D XL," and "Formadrol Extreme XL."
The seized products previously were tested and found to contain one or more unapproved food additives
and/or new dietary ingredients for which there is inadequate information to provide reasonable
assurance that the ingredients do not present a significant or unreasonable risk of illness or injury.
"The FDA takes seriously its responsibility to protect Americans from unsafe dietary supplements," said
Margaret Glavin, FDA's Associate Commissioner of the Office of Regulatory Affairs. "Wednesday's
action shows FDA's commitment to protecting consumers from potentially harmful products."
"Working with the FDA, we are taking prompt civil action to protect the public health by seizing these
illegal products and forestalling their shipment into the stream of commerce in any manner that could
create harm to the public," said U.S. Attorney Stephen J. Murphy. "I commend the professionalism and
swift action of the FDA investigators who discovered and investigated this serious problem, and I am
glad our lawyers could provide the legal muscle needed to support the seizure."
FDA has not received scientific information on the safety of the seized products and cannot determine,
at this time, whether they represent a hazard to consumers. Therefore, consumers who still have the
products should strongly consider discussing the use of these products with their health care
professionals. FDA also recommends that consumers consult their health care professionals if they have
experienced any adverse events that they suspect are related to the products' use. Consumers and health
care professionals can report adverse events to the FDA's MedWatch program at 800-FDA-1088 or
online at www.FDA.gov/medwatch/report.htm.
On March 2006, the FDA warned Legal Gear (the predecessor of LG Sciences) to cease distribution of a
different product that was marketed as a dietary supplement but was actually an unapproved new drug
containing synthetic steroids.

FDA Warns Consumers of Serious Harm from Drinking Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS)
Product contains industrial strength bleach
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to take Miracle Mineral Solution, an
oral liquid also known as Miracle Mineral Supplement or MMS. The product, when used as
directed, produces an industrial bleach that can cause serious harm to health.
The FDA has received several reports of health injuries from consumers using this product, including
severe nausea, vomiting, and life-threatening low blood pressure from dehydration.
Consumers who have MMS should stop using it immediately and throw it away.
MMS is distributed on Internet sites and online auctions by multiple independent distributors. Although
the products share the MMS name, the look of the labeling may vary.
The product instructs consumers to mix the 28 percent sodium chlorite solution with an acid such as
citrus juice. This mixture produces chlorine dioxide, a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and
industrial water treatment. High oral doses of this bleach, such as those recommended in the labeling,
can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration.
MMS claims to treat multiple unrelated diseases, including HIV, hepatitis, the H1N1 flu virus, common
colds, acne, cancer, and other conditions. The FDA is not aware of any research that MMS is effective in
treating any of these conditions. MMS also poses a significant health risk to consumers who may choose
to use this product for self-treatment instead of seeking FDA-approved treatments for these conditions.
The FDA continues to investigate and may pursue civil or criminal enforcement actions as appropriate
to protect the public from this potentially dangerous product.
The FDA advises consumers who have experienced any negative side effects from MMS to consult a
health care professional as soon as possible and to discard the product. Consumers and health care
professionals should report adverse events to the FDAs MedWatch program at 800-FDA-1088 or online
atwww.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm.
