Coach Kettlers History Syllabus


Beginning of Class: No talking above a whisper (if I can hear you, you are too loud)
1. Go to your seat and set down belongings
2. Get out supplies (pencils, homework etc.)
3. Prepare supplies if necessary (example: sharpen pencil, get out interactive notebook, etc.)
4. Write down the Objective in your Agenda
5. Begin Warm-up
6. Continue Working on Warm-Up until next activity begins
During Instruction/Activities: You are to respect all classmates by listening while they are contributing to class
discussion
No one leaves the class during direct instruction Except Severe
Emergency:
- Bones, Blood, Barf
End of Class: Do not leave until dismissed. I respect your time, and will dismiss you as soon as possible.
Room Expectations
o Desks are where they belong
o Floors and desks are clean
o All supplies including resources have been put away in the place they are supposed to be

CLASS PARTICIPATION
Participation in class is more than physical presence. It means making a meaningful contribution to discussions
and course activities.
Satisfactory class participation and cooperation is:
being present with all required class materials
answering questions
offering constructive opinions
generally cooperating with the teacher and other students in the class.

We learn from each other, and if you dont speak, others dont learn from you [and vice versa]. The evaluation of your classyou
need to SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW!

We are here for the same reason, for me to help you get smarter. Thats right you can get smarter. The brain is
like a muscle, it gets stronger when to exercise it. We are too busy getting smarter to get into trouble!

Written warning (Discipline Log), and Student/Teacher Conference
30 Minute Detention and Parent Contact
1 Hour Detention and Parent Contact
One Class Suspension (OCE) and Parent Contact
Referral (OCE/Choices) Parent Contact
Attendance:
A student will be counted tardy if he/she is not in the classroom at the time the bell rings. Be on time and you wont get a tardy.

Quizzes 35%
Tests 40%

Test/Quiz Correction
There will be an opportunity to make up or correct all failing tests and quizzes to a 70.
Scores above 70 can add points (determined by what the correction is) to improve passing scores
