Obstetricians-Gynecologists (Fellows) in training with Dr.
Nilda Liz Moreno-Ruiz in order to receive a sub- specialization in family planning that is completed in two years. TARGET AUDIENCE CONTEXT Fellows spend their first year completing a Masters of Public Health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore. *Stanford University, California. SETTING MedStar Washington Hospital Center at Irvine Street Northwest, Washington D.C. During the first six months of their second year, the Fellow attends every day, without interruption, and in that period of time the learner uses the Capstone. BACKGROUND ON PROJECT Family Planning Guide to Learning of 2008. core competences during the two years of training. Terminal and enabling objectives. PROBLEM Out of the fifteen competences, five do not have an academic component and are taught during training the second year. The Fellowship in Family Planning National Office does not provide the Fellowship directors with an instructional curriculum to teach these competences. SOLUTION To have an e-learning product to cover the five core competences that do not have an academic component for the entire Fellowship in Family Planning National Office. According to Ruiz, Mintzer & Leipzig (2006) e-learning is more efficient because learners gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes faster than through traditional instructor-led methods (p. 208). 5 COMPETENCES 4 MODULES FINAL DELIVERABLE E-learning product 4 instructional modules Learners Assessment Formative Summative METHODS have been identified as the relevant educational theories to design the foundations of the Capstone. These theories key factors give the Fellow a tool to direct his efforts in an independent and coherent way.
