is a non-profit organization made up of over 30,000 schools and youth organizations in more than
140 countries. iEARN empowers teachers and young people to work together online using the Internet
and other new communications technologies. Over 2,000,000 students each day are engaged in
collaborative project work worldwide.

Primary Source http://www.primarysource.org/ promotes history and humanities education by
connecting educators to people and cultures throughout the world. In partnership with teachers,
scholars, and the broader community, Primary Source provides learning opportunities and curriculum
resources for K-12 educators.
Asia Societys http://asiasociety.org/education/mission Global Learning and Leaderships
mission is to develop students' and young leaders' global competence as the foundation for
understanding between people in the Asia Pacific region and throughout the world.
An important element of this learning is the GLOBAL CITIES EDUCATION NETWORK connecting
schools in North America and Asia in a variety of ways.
Connect All Schools http://www.connectallschools.org/ Provides models for schools across the
country to replicate--many that require minimal or no cost. Its an interactive site that helps connect
schools and build new cross-cultural, business and educational links.
Edutopias http://www.edutopia.org/ vision is of a new world of learning, a place where students
and parents, teachers and administrators, policy makers and the people they serve are all empowered
to change education for the better; a place where schools provide rigorous project-based learning,
social-emotional learning, and access to new technology; a place where innovation is the rule, not the

three fundamental skills:
ePals Global Classroom http://www.epals.com/#!/main Teachers use the free ePals Global
Classroom to create real world, culturally- enriching learning experiences for their students.
With ePals classroom matching, a high school class studying Chinese can connect with a class studying
English in China, or the classes can work on a special project together.

educational program that engages middle school and high school students in an exploration of current
world issues through interactive simulations and curricular materials. Global Classrooms cultivates
literacy, life skills and the attitudes necessary for active citizenship.

collaborative, world-wide community initiative involving students, educators, and organizations at all
levels. It is designed to significantly increase opportunities for building education-related connections
around the globe while supporting cultural awareness, recognition of diversity, and educational access
for all.
The conference seeks to present ideas, examples, and projects related to connecting educators and
classrooms with a strong emphasis on promoting global awareness, fostering global competency,
and inspiring action towards solving realworld problems. Through this event, it is our hope that
attendees will challenge themselves and others to become more active citizens of the world. Let us
learn, question, create, and engage in meaningful, authentic opportunities within a global context!

Global Gateway http://pulitzercenter.org/global-gateway Building on the Pulitzer Center's mission
to spread global awareness, the Global Gateway program engages the next generation on pressing
systemic international issues. Pulitzer Center-funded reporting projects serve as the departure point
for a multi-dimensional educational experience. Global Gateway provides students with fresh
information on global issues, helps them think critically about the creation and dissemination of news,
and inspires them to become active consumers and producers of information.
The program brings journalists to classrooms across the country to introduce critical under-reported
global issues to students: Population, Food Insecurity, Water, Maternal Mortality,Women and Children
in Crisis, Climate Change, Fragile States, and HIV/AIDS. Online Gatewaysaround these issues serve as
departure points to introduce the global issue and provide an interactive space where students can
engage with the journalists, share their responses and even their own reporting on the local
manifestation of these issues.

Global Nomads Group (GNG) http://gng.org/ is an international NGO whose mission is to foster
dialogue and understanding among the worlds youth. GNG engages and empowers young people
worldwide using media, including: interactive videoconferencing, webcasting, social networking,
gaming, and participatory filmmaking. GNG operates at the intersection of international and peace
education, striving to serve as a vehicle for awareness, bridging the boundaries of cultural
misconceptions and instilling in our audience a heightened appreciation and comprehension of the
world in which they live.
The Global Peacebuilding Center http://www.buildingpeace.org/ extends USIPs educational
work to newespecially youngeraudiences, introducing them to key concepts and skills in conflict
management and to the challenges and importance of peacebuilding.


Global SchoolNet's http://www.globalschoolnet.org/ engages educators and students in brain-
friendly e-learning projects worldwide to develop science, math, literacy and communication skills,
foster teamwork, civic responsibility and collaboration, encourage workforce preparedness and create
multi-cultural understanding. We prepare youth for full participation as productive and
compassionate citizens in an increasing global economy
Global Virtual Classroom http://www.virtualclassroom.org/ Educational activities and resources.
It aims to complement the efforts of governments and educators around the world to integrate
technology into their classrooms and curricula and to link their schools to the Internet in educationally
productive ways. The GVC vision is to empower, enable, and connect students around the world
using Internet technology.
OneWorldClassrroms http://www.oneworldclassrooms.org/ mission is to foster global awareness
and cross-cultural understanding in the context of the K-12 curriculum to prepare young people for
local and global citizenship in culturally diverse settingsto offer programs and services through
which young people share, collaborate, and explore with their peers from different cultures.
World Wise Schools http://www.peacecorps.gov/wws/ program brings the Peace Corps
experience home to American classroomsmakes it easier than ever for you to find your favorite
cross-cultural learning materials including videos, lesson plans, podcasts, publications, and much
more.
People to People http://www.ptpi.org/community/SCP.aspx TPI's School & Classroom Program is
a free service that links classes and youth groups in different countries for pen pal exchanges and
projects that foster cultural understanding and friendship.
RESPECT http://respectrefugees.org/ is an apolitical, international NGO whose project involves a
global letter exchange between refugees and non refugee students with goals of increasing awareness,
building bridges and encouraging students to take action.
Voices of Youth Connect http://www.voicesofyouth.org/en promotes cross-cultural interactions
between adolescents from different countries, helping them learn to work together, develop their
communication and computer skills, define and articulate their positions on global advocacy issues,
and become engaged global citizens.
Taking it Global http://www.tigweb.org/index.html creates opportunities for you to get involved in
their local and global communities to become agents of change. From micro-mentorship helping
entrepreneurs get started to nation-art competitions to online petitions, youth are encouraged to get
involved. Over 4500 schools in 145 countries connect students around the world.
Face to Faith http://tonyblairfaithfoundationus.org/ Over 1,000 schools are registered with Face to
Faith, and over 100,000 students have been involved the programme. The use of regular
videoconferences is a powerful tool, enabling a classroom to speak to and see other classrooms across
the world, including in intra- and inter-conflict zones.
Touchable Earth http://www.touchableearth.com/ creates a sustainable way to provide children in
developing countries with access to technology and the internet. A key principle of the project is the
promotion of education and use of technology by girls.
