During the past year, I feel my writing level has improved immensely, and this

improvement is largely due to the prevalence of timed writings in the AP Language curriculum.
These timed writings allowed me to continually practice and improve upon my ability to answer
prompts specifically and effectively. They also provided a way for me to practice continuously
for the AP test in May. The only thing I feel would help further is more individual comments on
the body paragraphs of the timed writings. Otherwise, the prompts were very representative of
the test and they were very varied, allowing us to get a sense of every type of prompt. I also
appreciated the large amount of multiple choice practice in the class. Such assignments allowed
me to get an extremely large amount of practice for the AP test as well. I really benefited from
our class practice because it forced students to practice every class for the test, which really
helped us prepare. Something I would like to highlight as being extremely useful is IGEAs.
Writing paragraphs and answering questions in this format really allows me to develop my ideas
in a manner that flows and makes sense. It organizes my writing in a way that allows me to use
effective rhetoric in employing proof to glean and validate a certain subject of analysis. AP
Language this year had an optimal work load and pace of class this year by focusing in class on
AP test prep and focusing on home at practice with IGEAs. I feel that the class prepared me very
well for the AP test due to continued practice and that many of the writing skills I learned such
as using effective rhetoric or analyzing writing using critical approaches are life skills that I will
continue to use frequently in the future.
