SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
2014


The Central Fort Bend Chamber is the marketing representative for local and area businesses and the entire Fort
Bend community, promoting our members products and services. Further, the Chamber works to advocate for our
business community, in the political arena and beyond.

As part of the annual Fort Bend Strong event, which highlights the success of Fort Bend County, the Central Fort
Bend Chamber is partnering with the cities of Fort Bend County to offer the "Strength in the Future" Scholarship
program. This program will award 18 - $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in Fort Bend County. One award
will be given for each city, town or village.

Who can apply: Fort Bend County resident high school students scheduled to graduate in 2015.

Who will be reviewing applications and choosing: The mayors of each respective city, town or village

When is the deadline for applications: August 29, 2014 at 5 pm (no exceptions)

When will the awards be given: Recipients will be notified by October 20, 2014. The recipient and one parent or
guardian will be invited to attend Fort Bend Strong on November 6, 2014. The Scholarship will be presented by
your mayor during the event.

How will the winners be chosen: The winner will be selected by the Mayor of each city, town or village from the
essay submissions. The essay is to answer the following:

"What makes your city, town or village unique to Fort Bend County? What do you see as a challenge for
your community and how might you work to resolve it?"
