    Furman Bands

    Symphonic Winds
    Trumpet Audition Information Fall 2014
    This audition is open to all Furman Students.
    This audition is required for all wind and percussion scholarship students.
    Your audition will consist of:
    1. the three excerpts posted on the website.
    3. sight-reading of a brief passage.
    4. No Scales!
    Audition times will occur as follows:
    Brass: Tuesday, August 26 (TBA)
    Sign up times will be posted.
    The audition will take place behind a screen. Dr. Hicken and the Wind and
    Percussion Faculty will adjudicate.
    Symphonic Winds personnel will be established for the fall term based upon the
    results of this audition.
    This audition is not to be confused with the brief audition that takes place for
    freshman during Band Camp.
    Personnel Decisions will be based upon the following criteria:
    the results of the audition.
    past experience and performance in the ensemble program.
    educational value for the individual student.
    availability due to academic schedule.

    Hary Janos Suite Kodaly
    Symphony for Band - Hindemith
    Concerto for Orchestra - Bartok
