OPERATING PROCEDURE:

PRE- START CHECKS:
1. Reduce Boiler demand up to 60%
2. Stop Bottom elevation Pulveriser (as per Pulveriser SOP). With support of
HFO (main steam temperature should be maintain 540 +/-5
O
C)


3. Both RAPH soot blowing need to be completed before boiler normal stop.
4. Reduce Boiler demand by reducing Pulveriser demand with support of LDO
(20 TPH). (main steam temperature should be maintain 540 +/-5
O
C)


5. Boiler SCAPH system to be taken in line at low load to maintain stack temp.
(as per SOP of SCAPH system)

6. Boiler demand to be converting from coal to HFO by stopping pulveriser
one by one (as per pulveriser SOP) and also maintain main steam temp.

7. Stop seal air fan as per SOP.
8. Ensure that down comer 1 to economizer R/C line MOV open.(MOV1809)
9. Ensure that boiler is running with HFO and maintain steam pressure &
temp.

10. Stop PA fan as per SOP also maintain boiler draught (it should be within +/-
15 mmwc.

11. Primary air isolation
Ensure that PA fan A I/L & O/L damper close.(MOV4919)
(MOV4921)
Ensure that PA fan B I/L & O/L damper close.(MOV4920)
(MOV4922)

12. Close boiler main steam stop valve and parellely remove HFO as per SOP
and follow boiler depressurizing curve.


13. Boiler MFT activated and boiler purging will started.
14. Ensure that boiler purging completed (420 sec)
15. Stop any FD fan as per SOP.


16. Ensure boiler draught is within limit.
17. Stop any ID fan as per SOP.
18. Stop other FD fan as per SOP.
19. Ensure boiler draught is within limit.
20. Stop other ID fan as per SOP.
21. Stop both RAPH as per SOP.
22. Flue gas path Isolation.
Ensure that RAPH A inlet damper closed. (MOV5907)
Ensure that RAPH B inlet damper closed. (MOV5908)
Ensure that ID fan A I/L damper closed.(MOV5901)




Ensure that ID fan B I/L damper closed.(MOV5904)
Ensure that ID fan A O/L damper close.(MOV5903)
Ensure that ID fan B O/L damper close.(MOV5906)
23. Secondary air isolation.
Ensure that FD fan A O/L damper close.(MOV4909)
Ensure that FD fan B O/L damper close.(MOV4910)
Ensure that RAPH A inlet damper close. (MOV4911)
Ensure that RAPH B inlet damper close. (MOV4913)
Ensure that RAPH A outlet damper close. (MOV4912)
Ensure that RAPH B outlet damper close. (MOV4914)


24. Isolate Boiler atomizing steam.
25. HFO circuit flushed with wash oil and all instrument PT and FT also flushed
with wash oil.


26. Ensure that both ID fan suction IGV is closed condition.
27. Ensure that drum vent valve open. (MOV2831 & MOV2832).
28. Ensure that CBD (MOV1811) and EBD (MOV1814) valve close. And its
isolation valve open. (CB022 & MOV1813).


29. HP dosing isolation valve open.
30. Ensure that drain valve (HS009) of SH drain Header (Carbon Steel)to IBD
tank open. Filling valve close.


31. Ensure that drain valve (HS030) of SH drain Header (Alloy Steel) to IBD tank
open. Filling valve close.


32. Open the Roof inlet header drain valve (HS035 & MOV2861) (to SH Drain
Header (carbon steel)).


33. Open the HCPFW-B header drain valve (HS186 & MOV2864) (to SH Drain
Header (carbon steel)).


34. Open the HCPRW-B header drain valve (HS188 & MOV2863) (to SH Drain
Header (carbon steel)).


35. Open the HCPRH-B & PCPRH-B header drain valve (HS104 & MOV2862) (to SH
Drain Header (carbon steel)).


36. Open the HCPLH-B & PCPLH-B header drain valve (HS184 & MOV2865) (to SH
Drain Header (carbon steel)).


37. Open Primary Super heater inlet header drain valve (HS182 & MOV2866) (to SH
Drain Header (carbon steel)).


38. Open Platen Super heater inlet header drain valve (HS172 & MOV2871) (to SH
Drain Header (carbon steel)).


39. Open Primary Super heater outlet header drain valve (HS180 & MOV2867) (to
SH Drain Header (alloy steel)).


40. Open Secondary Super heater inlet header drain valve (HS168 & MOV2873) (to
SH Drain Header (alloy steel)).


41. Open Secondary Super heater inlet header drain valve (HS170 & MOV2872) (to
SH Drain Header (alloy steel)).


42. Open Secondary Super heater outlet header drain valve (HS166 & MOV2874A)


(to SH Drain Header (alloy steel)).
43. Close the roof inlet header vent valve (MOV2833).
44. Close the primary Super heater inlet vent valve (MOV2834) and outlet
header vent valve (MOV2835)


45. Close the Attemperator-1A vent valve (MOV2836) and 1B header vent
valve (MOV2837).


46. Close the Platen super heater outlet header vent valve (MOV2839).
47. Open Main steam line drain before MSSV (HS163 & MOV2875) (to SH Drain
Header (alloy steel))


48. Open Main steam line drain After MSSV (HS162 & MOV2876) (to SH Drain
Header (alloy steel)).


49. Close the MSSV and Its bypass valve (HS138 & HS138A) (MOV
2851/2851A).


50. Open the Startup vent valve (MOV2852 & HV2854) and Pressure control
vent valve (MOV2856 )& PV2858 close &in auto).
