Dear Mr. John Doe, My name is Kimberly Runde, and I am seeking the elementary teaching position in your school system for the 2014-2015 school year. I feel I have the experience, enthusiasm, and sensitivity towards students needs and circumstances to be considered for such a position. Enclosed you will find my resume and a list of references for your review. I am currently registered in ROE #3 and ROE #11 and have been subbing in various school districts. My beliefs in teaching and in Illinois schools have not changed nor will they ever because, I still believe in our school systems. I believe the school systems and teachers need to grow with the students in their community. I believe a teacher must adjust themselves to the needs of their students, even if that means to adapt. I believe a teacher should change their ways of teaching their students, because not all children are created the same. I believe a teacher should be excited every day they step foot into their school. I believe in the passion of teaching, the excitement of knowing my students minds will be open and engaging while we are learning. Anyone can make their resume, cover letter, lesson plans in full detail meeting the Common Core Standards sound wonderful and captivating to the naked eye. What makes me truly unique, is observing me in action. I go beyond the text book, I move away from the podium, and I become the topic I am teaching. A raccoons hat on while joining Lewis and Clark, a baby on my back while learning with Sacagawea, getting on the floor with kindergartens and enjoying a book, sitting next to my students and figuring out a math problem by teamwork, doing John Travoltas famous dance moves to the vocabulary terms of osmosis and diffusion. I embrace the subject I am teaching and show it to my students in several different ways to capture all of their different styles of learning. The love of teaching comes natural to me, and I need to share this enthusiasm with a school. I look forward to having the opportunity to talk to you about a non-threatening, educational, and stimulating classroom that would benefit your school district. I am willing to participate in any classes and or conferences that will further my education, and aide in the students education. If there are positions for which I could be considered, please contact me at (217)-821-4734. It is my hope that I would be able to express my ideas in greater detail in an interview with you.
