USE

For use in the 76mm L5A1 (on Saladin) or L23/23A1 guns

(on Scorpion light tanks) against personnel at close quarters.
DESCRIPTION
The thin walled cylindrical body is loaded with steel pellets and
is fitted with a base plug. When fired, the projectile breaks open,
upon leaving the muzzle, and projects the steel pellets in a cone
with an effective range of approximately 100 metres.
The projectile is fixed on a brass cartridge case,
which contains a single base multi-perforated propellant
and is fitted with a mechanical primer.
