Hindu tradition of Chakra #10
Hinduism is the most popular and dominant religion in India. I am very spiritual person so topics
about other religions fascinate me. I am also a believer of metaphysics, which involves phenomenon
that cannot be explained by science such as subtle energy. Subtle energy is any energy that is not on the
electromagnetic spectrum. This is tied in with metaphysics because subtle energies are things like, the
energy of thought, the power of love, chi, and chakra. There are more examples but those are to name a
few. I decided to do my research on Chakras. Chakra is a tradition of the Hindu religion, and has to do
with spiritual energy and the physical bodys energy.
Hinduism has been called one of the oldest religions in the world and it is based on a set of
intellectual and philosophical ideas rather than stiff system of beliefs. I like this religion because of the
morals it encourages me to practice but also because of the unique ideas about the body, mind and
spirit and Chakra is a great example of this. Chakra are swirling energy centers on the human body and
each one is connected to a certain master organ in the body. This type of energy is a subtle energy and is
perceived by the believers of Chakra to be the energy that connects spirit to body and helps us operate
our body. It is known that everything in the universe is energy, so it is believed that chakra can be
effected by energy that comes near them. Since the sun provides energy that is the source of life, it can
affect our chakra points. It just so happens that there are seven chakra points and each with one of the
seven colors in the visible spectrum of light. These chakras are responsible for different things including
emotional, intellectual, physical or spiritual level. The chakras each have many aspect associated with
them, including emotions and body parts.
The first is the Crown Chakra. It is violet, located at the top of the head and governed by the
pineal gland. It involves Divine spirituality, wisdom, knowledge, bliss. The associated body parts are
Upper brain, Central Nervous System, and Hair.
The second Chakra is the Brow. It is located between the eyes, its color is indigo, and it is
governed by the pituitary gland. This chakra involves Intuition, Invention, Psychic Abilities, and Self
Realization. The associated body parts are, Eyes, Nose, Ears, and Sinuses.
The third chakra is the Throat chakra, its color is blue. It is located over the throat and is
governed by the thyroid. This chakra is connected with Communication, Wisdom, Speech, Trust, and
Creative Expression. The associated body parts are Throat, Vocal System, Mouth, Jaw, Tongue, Neck,
Shoulders.
The fourth chakra is the Heart chakra that is located over the sternum. It is blue and governed
by the thymus. The heart chakra is associated with Relationships, Love, Acceptance, Self-Control,
Compassion, and Guilt. Associated with this chakra are several body parts, Lungs, Heart, Bronchia, Arms,
Hands, and Respiratory system.
The fifth chakra is the Solar Plexus and it is over the stomach. Its color is yellow and it is
governed by the pancreas. The solar plexus is tied with Personal Power, Will, Knowledge, Wit, Humor,
Optimism, and Curiosity. The body parts would include Digestion, Liver, Stomach, Diaphragm, and
Nervous System.

The sixth chakra is the sacral chakra, it is yellow and governed by the spleen. This chakra
involves Feelings, Emotions, Intimacy, and Procreation. These body parts are Ovaries, Testes, Womb,
Kidneys, Urinary Tract, and Skin.
The seventh chakra is the Root chakra and its color is red and it is located over the tailbone. The
Root chakra involves Survival, Vitality, Reality, Security, Support, Stability, Sexuality, and Individuality.
Some associated body parts are Spine Legs, Feet, Bones, Teeth, and the Tailbone.
I feel like I am a better person for understanding Chakra more. Not only have I been enlightened
I have learned something that I can practice in my spiritual life. I had no idea that the Hindu religion was
so fascinating and put so much emphasis on spirit. I believe they have a unique way of describing the
metaphysics of spirit and body. I have been motivated to balance my chakras so that I can begin leading
an even better life.
