State/National/International General Education Organizations

There are many different organizations across the world that promote
different educational practices. Some of the main organizations that are used in
the United States of America are listed below. The U.S. Department of Education
and the Virginia Department of Education are both control by the government. The
National Education Association is an independent organization that supports
teachers in both general education and specific subject education.

Field-Specific Organizations
My specific field of study is Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood
Special Education. The following websites are all specific to early childhood
education and/or early childhood special education. I have used all of these web
pages in my past teaching practices and are incredibly useful resources for
teachers, administrators, students, and parents alike.

Organizations that Support Education
The following websites all support education but are not funded or run by a
specific educational government association. They are independent organizations
that focus on supporting teachers, students, and parents. Each of the websites has
different offerings for specific target populations and can be used as resources
both in and outside the classroom.
