Scrabble tiles to
spell your words.
Rainbow Words -
Write a spelling word
with your pencil. Now
trace around the
outside with a crayon.
Pick two other crayons
to continue tracing
outward!
Movement Spelling -
Tippy Toe Flat Foot
Stand on your tippy toes
and say a letter. Next come
down on flat feet for the
next letter. Continue until
youve spelled the word.
Repeat for each word.
Free Choice - Choose an

The Colored Word Study Center Menu
Make about 5 copies or so and laminate them. Use these in your Word
Work Center. For the most part the activities are the same as the
homework menu. The only differences are activities that wouldnt be
conducive to a classroom setting. I found that this helped my students
with what each choice was all about because they were also discussing the
choices at home. There is a blank line before activity/activities so you as a
teacher can determine how many centers you would like your students to
complete each week. This menu stays the same for the month of
September.
The Black and White Word Study Menu
This is the menu you will send home with your students for homework.
We send the menu home on Mondays and ask that students turn in the
signed menu and work if applicable on Friday of each week. This menu
stays the same for the month of September. Before we made copies
each week, we wrote the weeks dates on the week of line. Our
parents commented numerous times how much they appreciated the
many different ideas to practice spelling.
