Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation
and leadership from completing this field experience?

Technology facilitates collection of data. Data is easier to sort and evaluate with the use of
technology. Using data for school improvement requires collaboration, vision, and
determination. Leadership that can guide the goals of a data team is important to
successful outcomes.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)

I must know the needs of the students, the disposition of possible data team members, and
the best ways to facilitate cooperative collaboration. In order to be effective as a data team
leader I developed better skills using Excel spreadsheets, enhanced graphic design methods
for data display at team meetings, and techniques for evaluating collected data. As a leader
it is important to play to the team members strengths. Utilize members where they will be
most effective and have more of an interest.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? I worked with an
instructional coach in developing several Big 20s for use in assessing World History classes
in meeting state standards. I administered the assessments; we analyzed the results and
constructed bar graphs to display comparisons of a students results. We also created line
graphs for overall class by class performances.
