‫ﻺْﺳﺘِﹾﻔَﻬﺎﻡ‬

ِ ِ‫ﺃﹶْﻡ ﻟ‬ ‘Or’ Used For Questioning Book 2 lesson 1

‫ ﺃﹶْﻡ‬is used in a questioning sentence. The 1st variable comes straight after the alif and
the 2nd variable comes straight after the ‫ﺃﹶﻡ‬. Look at the example below then translate
the following sentences into Arabic and circle the variables.

Is the fridge door open or closed?

‫ﻼَﺟِﺔ ﺃﹶْﻡ ُﻣْﻐﻠﹶﹶﻘﹲﺔ؟‬


‫ﺏ ﺍﻟﺜﱠ ﹶ‬
ُ ‫ﺃﹶ َﻣﹾﻔﺘُْﻮَﺣﹲﺔ ﺑَﺎ‬

2. Is the teacher in front of the class or behind the class?

3. Did you go to the bank or post office today?

4. Are the windows in your house new or old?

5. Did you go to school in your car or on your bicycle?

6. Is your house near the airport or far?

7. Did you go to the market today or yesterday?

8. Did you go to the mosque before the adhaan or after?
