Strengths:

1. The students taught each other parts that they missed on the test.
2. Based on the entire clip, the majority of the talking and interacting was done by the
students.
3. The classroom environment is a safe space for making mistakes and fixing them.

Concerns and Suggestions:

1. If I could do this again, I would allow a lot more processing time for students after asking
questions. They are beginners and are most likely still translating from English into their
L1s, formulating and response and then translating back into English. Even if their
interlanguages are further along, they need more time to find the words and construct the
grammar they need to respond to questions.
2. In the future, I would also like to ask more questions rather than giving immediate answers.
More of the What do you think?, giving discussion back to the class.


Action plan:

1. I plan to ask more questions of students in the future.
2. I plan to leave more time for students to process before calling on them, or before
responding myself.
