Senior LYT 1 invite you to two sharings of work

Both sharings are free and are a chance for friends and family to see the work of the
group. To give us an idea of numbers please could you email
educationassistant@lyceum.org.uk if you would like to come along.

Senior 1 work with a different professional theatre director each term and the group is
supported by LYT assistant and tutor John Glancy. This term Senior 1 have been
working with director Brenda Murphy looking at approaches to text, vocal techniques
and choral work.

I don’t know what you expect from a performance
about two children killing a third
I don’t know what you expect to hear
You probably want to know why

An exploration of aspects of the James Bulger 1993 murder case; extracts from the
interrogations of the young killers, testimonies of the parents on both sides and a chorus
reflecting on how and why and asking what is our collective responsibility?

LYT 1 have been exploring this play, questioning its right to exist and hence the role of
theatre in society. Working with director Brenda Murphy they have been experimenting
with the appropriate presentation style for such a play.
