Philosophy and objectives
The College of Education envisions that teacher education is the way to prepare and train teachers of
unquestionable integrity and competence with a high sense of commitments to their continuing growth
and obligation to help their future students develop as responsible individuals and citizen of the world.

General Objectives
1. Prepare would-be elementary and high school teachers, who will be future instruments in
nurturing the best in the learner as a human being and a worthy member of society.
2. Train would-be teachers to become empowered and globally competitive educators imbued
with Christian values.
3. Develop future teachers with moral values, sense of commitment, professionalism and high
disciplined persons.
4. Produce highly motivated and committed mentors who shall be responsible for the
development of the country's future leaders.

Specific Objectives
1. Train students to become morally upright whose values are worth-emulating.
2. Develop positive values essential to serve God, country, and humanity.
3. Strengthen the critical faculties of would-be teachers to ensure further growth and
development.
4. Provides students new directions toward Teacher Education based on international standards of
quality and excellence.
5. Enhance the capabilities and skills of students for the advancement of the citizens of the
country.
6. Revitalize the continuum teacher preparation, redirection, and continuing professional image of
a teacher to achieve national and global relevance.
7. Upgrade teacher competencies primarily in the use of effective and workable teaching and
evaluation strategies.
8. Acquire new knowledge or perspective by doing good research work.
9. Extend Community Outreach Programs responsive to the conditions and needs of the
community, especially those of the disadvantaged sectors.
