DISASTER RISK REDUCTION PLAN FOR ALBAY CENTRAL SCHOOL

Significance of the Study

This study is deemed significant by the researchers to help towards building a
resilient community through designing a disaster risk reduction plan for Albay Central
School. Schools are populated with several students with which a disaster can cause a
large number of casualties depending upon the vulnerabilities present in the school. The
researchers believe that it can be of benefit to the following:

School Administrators This study can provide valuable information to the school
administrators that can help them in developing and/or improving their own Disaster
Risk Reduction Plan for the school.

Students/Youth This study can give a background to the students/youth on
developing a disaster risk reduction plan and show them the importance of being
involved in such an activity. The study can also serve as an inspiration to the
students/youth to engage in activities related to emergency management.

Community Through the conduct of this study, the researchers believe that it can
provide valuable information to the community that can help in the preparedness of the
citizens, specifically in this case, the students and faculties of Albay Central School
when a certain calamity/disaster strikes.

Local Government Unit This study can help the Local Government Unit in the risk
assessment of Albay Central School and can give important information which they can
utilize in their development and implementation of a disaster risk reduction plan for the
community/ area of responsibility.

Future Researchers This study can serve as a guide to future researchers that will
have the same nature and scope as of this present study.
