Consequences of Human domination
According to the scientific Meriem Webster dictionary a Biological Biodiversity
is an environment as indicated by the number of different plants and animals. The
population of humans has increased rapidly since the 1950s, and there is pressure
on the ecosystems because of it, humans are taking over everything to meet the
needs of every individual. There should not be human domination on Earth, as its
ruining the planet. Humans are taking more control of lands and natural resources on
Earth, biodiversity is changed by humans, and humans are causing animal
extinction.
The act of humans taking over the world is increasing as time is passing by,
which has a bad impact on other species living with humans. Zuckerman, Ben, and
David Jefferson point out that before the arrival of the first europeans, almost all
Central America was forests. According to Kirkpatrick Sales book called After Eden,
55 percent of all accessible surface freshwater is put to use by humans. In my
opinion the act of humans taking over everything on earth is an act of greediness and
it should be declined, because humans are not only the organisms who live on this
planet, therefore we should stop destroying animals habitats to create roads and
farms for us, and also use to much resources that other species need as well.
Biodiversity is changing very badly since the 1950s and this is caused by the

humans. According to a non-profit organisation called Annual review states that the
human appropriation of earths natural resources is not only leading to biodiversity
loss, but also to large alterations of biodiversity distribution, composition or
abundance. Another web organisation called science magazine posted an article
about human domination of the earths ecosystems, and it estimates that carbon
dioxide concentration in the atmosphere has increased by nearly thirty percent since
the 1950s. If the humans population increases more and if humans carry on the way
they are living now, the whole natural ecosystem will be destroyed, there will be not
enough of oxygen to breathe because of the carbon dioxides concentration, which is
very wrong because we are not harming ourselves but also other species.
Human domination is also causing lot of species to go extinct. Zuckerman,
Ben, and David Jefferson agree that between 1838 and 1888 it is estimated that over
13,000 giant tortoises were removed from the Galapagos to be used as food, and
they also believe that the arrival of the first humans on Australia about 50,000 years
ago, nearly all the species of large mammals and large flightless birds began to
disappear. Also according to the non-profit science organisation called Annual
review, hunting root back to the beginning of the middle Palaeolithic age. Humans
are living a luxurious life which is resulting to other animals get killed, which is not fair
for the other species, because they are created to live with us in the same
environment and live their own peaceful life.
Other people believe that Humans are trying to fix the environment,
according to the United States Environmental protection agency, In 1996, 130 million
cubic yards of materiel were diverted from landfills due to recycling and composting,
if this amount of materiel had not been recycled, the U.S would have needed 64
additional landfills, each with enough capacity to serve the combined city populations
Dallas and Detroit. Also by substituting recovered scrap materials for the use of
trees, metal ores, minerals, oil, and other virgin materials, recycling reduces the
pressure to expand forestry and mining production, which can be environmentally
damaging. For example, recycling one ton of paper saves the equivalent of 17 trees
and 7,000 gallons of water. Some people are correct to agree that Humans are trying
to fix the environmental problems these days to make the future of Earth a better
place.
Human Domination drawbacks cost more than its benefits. The fact that
Humans are recycling and composting is not enough, because humans are making
animals go extinct daily in large amounts, humans are using more than half of all
surface fresh water on earth and other natural resources which is too much because
other species need it too, also humans are destroying the environment by polluting it.
Recycling and composting will not make a huge difference, but trying to stop human
domination will make a big positive difference on Earth
