Present Levels of Performance (Includes External Assessment and Self Reflection):
I feel comfortable and excited about working more with parents and families but I didnt get
many opportunities to this year. Although I met with some parents, I think that this is an area
of growth for the school and the counseling center. I feel that I could have been more active
in seeking out opportunities to connect with the community but I failed to do so.
New skills and/or knowledge needed to meet benchmarks?
Creating the framework for parents and community members to connect with the school is a
top priority. This varies by school and location but at Sealth, I would need to advocate more
for parent involvement and create more opportunities for parents to feel welcome at the
school. Increasing knowledge around issues parents are facing in order to be more involved
would be a great first step.

Evidence proposed to demonstrate meeting Standard/ Benchmarks:
I will measure the success of getting more parents involved with the school by measuring
how many parents come to events versus the previous years. I will also measure by using
climate surveys to see if parents fell more positively about the school. I will make changes to
intervention according to the information I receive from parents at these events.
