Setting Up the RM-VZ320

Installing the batteries

Slide open the battery compartment and insert two size AA (R6) dry
batteries (not supplied).
Insert the batteries (negative end first) into the battery compartment as
shown below.

Battery life

Under normal conditions, size AA (LR6) alkaline batteries will last up to one
year. If the RM-VZ320 does not operate properly, the batteries might be
drained. Replace both batteries with new ones.
Replace the batteries within 2 minutes after removing them, and do not press any
button when replacing the batteries. Otherwise, your code settings may be cleared.
Do not use an old battery with a new one, or mix different types of batteries together.
If the electrolyte inside the battery should leak, wipe the contaminated area of the
battery compartment with a cloth and replace the old batteries with new ones. To
prevent electrolyte from leaking, remove the batteries when you plan not to use the
RM-VZ320 for a long period of time.

Troubleshooting
If you have problems setting up or using the RM-VZ320:
Carefully perform the setup procedure of Startup Guide. If the RM-VZ320 does not
work, try repeating the setup procedure using another manufacturers code (if listed
for your device). If you still cannot operate the RM-VZ320, try the Search function
(see Searching for the correct code).
Aim the RM-VZ320 directly at the device.
Remove any obstacles in the path between the RM-VZ320 and the device.
Make sure you have pressed the correct Device Select button.
Check that the device has infrared remote capability. For example, if your device did
not come with a remote control, it probably is not capable of being controlled by the
RM-VZ320.
The batteries are weak, or not inserted correctly. Replace them with new ones or insert
them correctly.

Assigning a channel to each number button

Channel selecting procedures can be programmed to the number buttons

(0 9) for each device mode, which allows you to select any channel
number directly with a single press of a number button.
Example: To assign a channel to number button 9 in CBL mode

Clearing the automatic power-on control (Sony

The Device Select buttons are preset to automatically turn on the device
when pressed.

Notes

If you press four buttons in Step 4, the setting mode ends and the channel will be
programmed.
If another channel has already been set on a button, it will be overwritten with the
new one.
Once a number button has been programmed, it cannot function as regular number
button.

Restoring the factory settings

You can clear all the settings and reset the RM-VZ320 to its factory settings.
1 Press and hold SET for more than 3 seconds.
The SET indicator lights up.
While keeping SET held down, press , then release both buttons.
2 Enter 9 - 0 - 0 using the number buttons.
The SET indicator flashes three times.
To cancel, press any button except .
3 Press .
The SET indicator flashes three times and turns off.

Notes on using the RM-VZ320

The RM-VZ320 will not perform functions that the device is not designed for. For
example, if your TV does not have the muting function, MUTING on the RM-VZ320
will not function with your TV.
The function of the buttons varies depending on settings/operating modes. The table
of Remote Button Descriptions shows how the RM-VZ320 generally operates for
each device in the preset mode.
If your cable set top box can control volume, be sure to set its volume to a moderate
level. If the volume on the cable set top box is turned down completely, you will not be
able to adjust your TVs volume with the RM-VZ320.

Si el RM-VZ320 no funciona, intente repetir el procedimiento de configuracin con
otro cdigo de fabricante (si hay otros en la enumeracin de cdigos de su
dispositivo). Si sigue sin poder operar el RM-VZ320, intente con la funcin Bsqueda

Apunte el RM-VZ320 directamente al dispositivo.

Luego de leer este manual, si todava no puede lograr que el RM-VZ320 funcione

4 Presione los botones en el RM-VZ320 para comprobar que funcionan.

Consulte Descripcin de los botones del control remoto para conocer las funciones de los botones para cada
dispositivo.

Si el RM-VZ320 parece no estar funcionando

Compruebe que haya establecido el cdigo del fabricante correcto.

Intente repetir el procedimiento de configuracin usando otro cdigo de fabricante (si hay otros en la
enumeracin de cdigos de su dispositivo).
Si sigue sin poder operar el RM-VZ320 despus de probar todos los cdigos de la lista, intente con la funcin
Bsqueda (consulte Bsqueda del cdigo del fabricante).

Ajuste del volumen

Presione VOL +/ para controlar el volumen. Presione MUTING para
silenciar el sonido.
Cuando se selecciona un TV u otro dispositivo de video, se controla el
volumen del TV. Cuando se selecciona un dispositivo de audio, se controla el
volumen del amplificador. Cuando se selecciona un DVD con cine en casa,
se puede controlar el volumen en forma independiente.

volumen

Por ejemplo: cuando desea escuchar el sonido del reproductor de DVD

(programado en el botn del DVD) por medio del amplificador conectado
(programado en el botn AMP)

1 Presione y mantenga presionado el botn SET durante ms de 3 segundos.

Se encender la luz indicadora SET.
Mientras mantiene presionado SET, presione DVD, luego suelte ambos
botones.
2 Ingrese 9 - 5 - 5 usando los botones numricos.

3 Presione AMP.

Asignacin de un canal a cada botn numrico

Los procedimientos de seleccin de canales se pueden programar en los

botones numricos (0 9) para cada modo de dispositivo, lo que le
permite seleccionar cualquier nmero de canal con solo presionar un botn
numrico.

Notas

Si presiona cuatro botones en el Paso 4, el modo de configuracin finalizar y el canal

habr quedado programado.
Si ya haba un canal configurado en un botn, se sobrescribir con el nuevo.
Una vez que un botn numrico ha sido programado, no puede funcionar como un
botn numrico comn.

Recuperacin de la configuracin de fbrica

Puede eliminar todas las configuraciones y restablecer la configuracin de
fbrica del RM-VZ320.
1 Presione y mantenga presionado SET durante ms de 3 segundos.
Se encender la luz indicadora SET.
Mientras mantiene presionado SET, presione , luego suelte ambos
botones.
2 Ingrese 9 - 0 - 0 usando los botones con nmeros.
El indicador SET parpadear tres veces.
Para cancelar presione cualquier botn excepto .
3 Presione .
El indicador SET parpadear tres veces y se apagar.

Notas sobre el uso del RM-VZ320

El RM-VZ320 no puede realizar funciones que el dispositivo no est diseado para

realizar. Por ejemplo, si su TV no tiene una funcin para silenciar el sonido, la funcin
MUTING en el RM-VZ320 no funcionar con su TV.
La funcin de los botones vara dependiendo de los modos de configuracin/
operacin. La tabla de Descripcin de los botones del control remoto muestra cmo
el RM-VZ320 opera en general con cada dispositivo en el modo configurado.
Si el decodificador de cable puede controlar el volumen, asegrese de establecerlo en
un nivel moderado. Si el volumen en el decodificador de cable se baja por completo,
no podr ajustar el volumen de su TV con el RM-VZ320.
