Has been largely replaced by inhaled B agonist
Used for bronchospasm in asthmatic and
bronchitis patients
Clinical features :
tachycardia and tremor, vomiting, hypotension,
hypokalemia, hyperglycemia.
May cause cardiac arrythmia (atrial tachycardia,
premature ventricular contraction, ventricular
tachycardia)
Severe seizure resistant to anticonvulsants

Supportive care
Aggresive gut decontaminations : Activated
charcoal repeated, whole bowel irrigation
Propanolol antidotes
Phenobarbital for seizure
Hemodialysis for serum concentration >100mg/L
