A Memory In Time
In the past years during the holocaust sex million jews has been exterminated from
genocide. Also during the holocaust many families were separated from each other and many
of them never saw each other ever again. From this wicked time this man named Kenneth
Treister a architect and a sculpture artist created a statue in Miami, Florida in 1995 for all the
people that have been exterminated during that time.
In Miami, Florida there is a holocaust memorial located in Miami Beach dedicated to
the six million people that has pasted away from that era. In this memorial there is the statue
called The Sculpture of Love and Anguish. This statue represents the historical and
emotional experiences that expressed the reality of the holocaust. The man that created this
piece of artwork is also jewish, therefore it motivated him to take the job and express in art
what happened.
The holocaust was a great disaster that happened between the jews and the germans,
many thousands and millions were slaughtered. Also the term holocaust means a burnt
sacrificial offering. The start if the holocaust was in 1933 and many things started to change
in that year. For example the jews were banned from working for the German government.
However in 1935 jews were stripped of citizenship, the right to marry non-jewish civil rights
offered to non-jew civil Germans. In addition, in 1936 and 1938 the jews were banned from
taking professional positions, also the jewish children were banned from public schools.
As well from the book Night by Elie Wiesel theyre examples of the world reacts and
changes throughout war. For example in the first chapter from Night it says What can we
expect? Its war. Reading this sentence it shows that war affects everything. Similarly in
chapter three that war srpeard off from everyone, it says Men to the left and women to the
right. Yet again in chapter nine says after my fathers death, nothing could touch me
anymore this was a simile saying hes invisible.
In Conclusion, the holocaust was a horrific time because six million jewish people
died from genocide. Also many families were tarred apart because of these concentration
camps. Most of those families never saw each other ever again. Therefore this era was so
wrong that people like Kenneth Treister want to express and show why this was so evil .This
is why the holocaust is a ginormous tragic in the worlds history.
