LOCK SET PACKER

The Lock Set Packer is a general

purpose casing packer for production,
injection, zone isolation, or remedial
operations. The Lock Set Packer holds
pressure from above or below while
allowing the tubing to be placed in
tension, compression, or in a neutral
condition.
DESCRIPTION
The Lock Set Packer is a "full bore"
retrievable casing packer with a builtin
unloader. !pposed, nontransferring
dovetail slips and a releasable packer
mandrel lock s"stem prevent packer and
tubing movement due to pressure
differentials. The mandrel lock s"stem
maintains packoff and locks the
unloader in the closed position until the
packer is released. Tubing can be landed
in tension, compression or neutral. #ight
hand rotation sets and releases this
packer.
USE
The Lock Set Packer is not affected b"
forces transmitted b" the tubing and ma"
be used in man" applications where a
permanent production packer might be
used, such as

completions with an upper dual packer
that is set b" short string weight

$ &ith snap set compression packers
$ &ith parallel string anchors

$ %n" other hookup which allows right
hand rotation, with upstrain, to release
the Lock Set Packer.
