I want to successfully complete my masters degree in criminology at California State
University Fresno. My goal is to get involved in research at the school in order to help me complete my thesis. I plan to write my thesis in criminology with a sociological twist. Enhancing the possibility of turning it into a dissertation for a PhD program in sociology. My ultimate goal however, is to become a lawyer and use my sociological and criminology background to help attain justice for those who need it. My passion and love for education and the criminal justice system goes far beyond the classroom and into the real world. Career Goals: Short term: 1) Gain experience in conducting research at California State University Fresno or research centers in the Fresno Area. 2) Work with at risk youth to try to find or create crime prevention programs. 3) Analyze court cases to find the sociological inferences that may have played an influential role. 4) Find a topic for my thesis that incorporates: criminology, sociology, and the judicial process. Long term: 1) Attain a JD law degree eventually in my lifetime. 2) Create programs or organization to help at risk youth. 3) Establish my own law firm. 4) Create a change and give back to my community.
