Nature of Problem
Due to additional loading
from the new steel link
bridge, the existing post tensioned transfer beams needed to be strengthened.
The Solution
Strengthening by beam enlargement using post tensioning method was carried out
to two beams. The increase in capacity of the two beams was about 5! of the
original capacity.
