O The Canadian residential schools were funded by the
Canadian Government and ran by the churches to make all
First Nation children of Canada adopt Christianity in order to
erase First Nation Culture
O There were very few positive reviews of the residential
schools and most of the reviews criticized the school.
O The Canadian residential schools proposed Christianity and
gave the children a poor living qualities
O About 4000 died while attending the schools
8 Stages of Genocide
The Holocaust
O The holocaust was a genocide
of many minor humans
during the WWII.
O Gypsys, Jews, disabled and
homosexual were all
considered the minor race.
O Most of the survivors were kept
in a camp where they were
starved, slaved, experimented.
O Although some people think
that the holocaust did not
happen, the survivors would
not forgive the Nazis for what
they did
O About 9 million died, 6 million
were jewish


The Rape of Nanking
O The rape of Nanking was a massacre in Nanking that
happened in 1937
O Experts suggests that more that 300,000 people died
and 20,000 women were raped, Some estimated that
the numbers were 340,000 and 80,000.
O Prisoners of the Japanese were tortured and
experimented.
O The Japanese did whatever they wanted and tried to
eliminate all the Chinese who lived in Nanking

The end of the Massacre
O At January 1938, The Japanese soldiers
forced all refuge into the safety zone for
them to get home, claiming that order has
been restored
O After the collaborating government was
established, order was gradually restored
and the barbarity of the Japanese
lessened
A Nazi who saved lives
O John Rabe was a
business man who was
a third party in the rape
of Nanking
O He has a 1200 page
diary
O he dug fox holes to
hide 650 Chinese,
stopped Japanese
soldiers from raping
women and delivering
rice from war torn
areas
O He also wrote to Hitler
