Portfolio Reflection
chose to ma!e my "ortfolio in #ee$ly $eca%se am familiar with it& %sed this we$site
editor for my 1101 class last semester and it is 'ery easy to %se( want my readers to ho"ef%lly
enjoy this "ortfolio& and to $e aware of the major "rojects "%t in there( Beca%se wor!ed harder
on them than the other class assignments(
#hen first started my )Power mage Project* had the chance to choose "ict%res of any
to"ic want to e+"lore a$o%t( And with the great methods my "rofessor %sed to ma!e %s thin!
more and more a$o%t what we are loo!ing for made it m%ch easier( ,e made %s write an analysis
a$o%t a the first "ict%re we find so we can !now how to find the rest( -hen& he had %s as!ing o%r
"eers .%estions a$o%t their "ict%res and they do the same( n the end of the class had "lenty of
ideas to loo! %" in order to find "ict%res a$o%t "ower& $%t more im"ortantly& see some as"ects
from different "oints of 'iews a$o%t "ower(
Early on in the semester& did not reali/e the difference $etween Paradigm and -race0 that
is to say& had a diffic%lt time discerning $etween the two a""eals( 1%ring the "ractices we did&
recall how diffic%lt it was determining the a""eal that the a%thor was %sing in some of the
images( -he only a""eal co%ld easily see $eing %sed was -race( -his was not it had less
.%estion( B%t $eca%se it was a tad $it more straightforward( ,owe'er& when my "rofessor
e+"lained the differences more and more in the class& noticed that hea'ily relied on -race
when e+"ressed my feelings( n addition& %sed the -race and Paradigm in my second "roject(
Altho%gh did not %se them intentionally when started writing a$o%t my so%rces& disco'ered
that was j%st answering those .%estions a$o%t each so%rce(
1%ring this semester& had a lot to wor! on in each class had( can honestly say that non
of those classes were easy( -hat is why lo'ed this class0 e'ery assignment we had was
enjoya$le& easy and e'en f%n( remem$er that we watched "lenty of 'ideos d%ring some of the
classes we too!( -hose 'ideos were the most f%n way of researching( My "erformance in this
class was 'ery good0 always contri$%ted in the class& with my gro%" and s%$mitted assignments
on time(
-his semester& learned a lot a$o%t "ower& learned that "eo"le see it differently0 it all
de"ends on the "erson2s "ers"ecti'e( Also& learned that doing something $y "arts is m%ch easier
than doing it all at once& and am not only tal!ing a$o%t this class& $%t a$o%t each class had in
this semester( learned that in order to do well in the classes am ta!ing& had to learn to
organi/e my time and ma!e a sched%le to ma!e dealing with the amo%nt of wor! easier( 3inally&
learned that witho%t e'ery little "iece learn e'eryday in each class& wo%ld not $e a s%ccessf%l
engineer as had ho"ed& only $eca%se !nowledge is "ower(
All in all& this co%rse hel"ed me %nderstand that researching hel"s find the more hel"f%l
to"ics& $%t also it lets yo% find the articles worth s"ea!ing a$o%t( Sometimes !nowledge can $e
interesting and only a co%"le of article can "resent interesting information( Also& learned the
different as"ects of "ower4 social& mental& "hysical& and e'en conse.%ential( learned how to %se
methods li!e -race and Paradigms and learned a lot that wo%ld hel" me in my f%t%re st%dies(
