Highlights of Recent Authentic Course Projects

Organizational Assessment (2013). Part of a four member team in the course, Management of Change, Innovation, and
Performance in Organizational Systems 1 that used the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence to evaluate
Multi-skills Plumbing Services, Jamaica and design recommendations for performance improvement.

eLearning Formative Evaluation (2012). Part of a two member team in the course, Program and Product Evaluation that
evaluated eLearning modules designed to prepare learners for the Project Management in Development (PMD Pro) Level
1 certification examination, for LINGOs, Seattle, WA.

eLearning Instructional Design (2010). Part of a four member team in the course, Introduction to Instructional Design that
did a full instructional design project (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) which involved the creation of
self-directed online modules on how to utilize the advanced features in MS Word 2010 to develop technical proposals for
UXB, Blacksburg, VA.

Research Interests

Development of facultys Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK), so that they can effectively integrate
technology in meaningful, engaging, and innovative ways.

Applications of principles of Cognitive Apprenticeship as a way to grow talent both in the classroom and the workplace.

Creation of a sense of community and engaging learning experiences in distance learning environments.

Educational affordances that foster the development of innovative thinking in various disciplines and development of
teaching and assessment models.

Application of Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) principles and learning theories in non-traditional learning
environments. Specifically, interested in factors that contribute to successful creation and management of environments
that foster informal learning and knowledge creation.
