Should marijuana be legalized in the country of the United States ?

Marijuana is one of the most popular drug in America. It is a native term from

mixture of dried part of the plant Cannabis. This plant is cultivable, consumed and it also
grows wild in many part of the world. It has been used by humans since a really long
time for seed oils, seed, fiber, medical treatment and recreationally. Marijuana is usually
know as this illegal drug that it sold in the blackmarket. It is called as different street
name like : pot, herb, Mary Jane, grass... (WhatYouNeedTo.) When it is consumed
there can be an psychoactive and physiological effects. Marijuana can make raise your
blood pressure and it can also make your red eyes or dry mouths or make you hungry
or sleepy. There is an active chemical call THC or Tetrahydrocannabinol, which
moves through the bloodstream to the brain and other organs of the body really quickly.
(Marijuana) Marijuana can increase the risk of several mental illness but it can also

The question that I am asking to myself is: should we legalized marijuana in this
country? I find some good reason to legalize it. Marijuana can be used as a treatment
for health issues. For example, the case of Charlotte Figi, marijuana save her life.
Before she was administered drops of marijuana, the six years old girl had 300 seizures
a week. After using regularly the plant, her parents said that Charlotte only had one
seizure a week. It allowed her to talk more, to laugh, to ride a bike and to live her life in
a better way than before. A few months after her case, forty-one other children had the
same experience. Some studies show us that marijuana can help people suffering of
Cancer, Stress Disorder, Crohns Disease and several other illness.

some cases, if this is become legal in the United States it will give more time to the

police to fight real crime. Legalization will decrease violence and deaths due to the
unregulated black market trade or marijuana. (MarijuanaToday)Legalizations will treat
the problem of drug abuse as a medical problem and not a criminal one.

To still be realistic, we need also to talk about the bad consequences of
legalizing Marijuana. The goal of each states is to protect each of their citizens. If this
plant became legalized it will increase the risk of mental illness. After some studies the
Getaway Theory says that the fact to start using Marijuana would leads to the use of
stronger drugs. There are a couples experience that has been proven the dangerous
side of consuming Marijuana. For example, a person who smoke marijuana and decide
after three hours to drive any vehicle have much risk of propagate an accident. Again,
the legalization of Marijuana will make the life around us worst. It will increase the
consummation of the drug, especially children and teenager.(WhatIsMarijuana?)
In the United States, there is twenty states allowed to use this drug, Marijuana,
for medical purposes. (Anderson) Those are : Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado,
Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana,
Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont,
Washington. (20Legal) In the state of Michigan, you are able to use Marijuana only if
you have a medical card. There is two states allowed to use Marijuana for recreational
reasons. Washington and Colorado voters legalized it. Washington only allowed people
over twenty-one years old and a possession of twenty-eight grams with a licensed
retailer. Colorado only allowed the consummation of marijuana if the person as a
possession of twenty-eight grams too. There, you have the right to grow Marijuana as

many at six plants in private and secure area.The attorney General says they would not
enforced marijuana in states where it is legal.
To close this research paper, I am going to share my own opinion. The United
States is a really big country in this world. Even more, this country has a huge influence
in the society and in the world. It is important to think about this decision because the
fact to legalize this drug will no matter what change a lot of life and habits of citizens. I
believe that Marijuana can help and give opportunities to people in medical purposes. I
also believe that if the drug will be legalize it will cause more difficulties and illness in
the United States. We have enough problems with the drug addiction and the
legalization will increase this number of problems. I personally believe that Marijuana
should be only allow for severe medical case.

1. It's a huge topic in the United States at this time ! Mrs Anderson, can marijuana can
be use legally ?
It can only be used in twenty states for medical purposes and it can only be used
in two states for recreational (those one who are Washington and Colorado).

2. Is marijuana more dangerous than alcohol ?
No, it is not.

3. What is the system about using marijuana in Michigan ?

You can use marijuana if you have a medical card. If you are find without it you
can go to jell.

4. What is the good and the bad things about marijuana for you ?
The good thing about it is that some people can get their pains release from it
without using more powerful drugs. The bad thing about it is that it can really make
people not wanna to do something in their own life.

5. What's your opinion, should marijuana be legalized ?
I really just think that it should be used for medical purposes.

6. What if someone is only happy if they are using marijuana ?
I would say "that's sad".

7. Doesn't the medical marijuana debate send children the wrong message about
marijuana ?
Yes, it does. It tells them that it's ok. That's wrong.

8. Isn't marijuana too dangerous to be used as a medicine ?
No, it's not.

9. What is the Federal response to state marijuana initiatives ?
The attorney General says they would not enforced marijuana in states where it
is legal.

10. Should the local state or federal government regulated the selling of marijuana ?
I think it should be up for each state like alcohol. Each state should have their
own rules.
