Forming Sentences
Grade Elementary School Special Education,
Kindergarten-Fifth Grade
Subject English/Language Arts and computers
Length of Lesson We will spend around 25 minutes on the power
point; give 10 minutes to brainstorm, and 30 to 45
minutes completing the task, for a total of about
an hour and twenty minute lesson.
Lesson Overview/Rationale I will give a power point on sentences with
examples of everyday situations, and how to
compose and send an email. I will then ask
students to write their own sentence. After
forming their chosen sentence, students will then
say their sentences aloud, and then (with
assistance) type their sentence in a Microsoft
Word Document. Students with more severe
learning disabilities will be expected to attempt
one simple sentence, while those who are more
advance will be expected to attempt multiple,
more thought out sentences.
