Created common core based lesson plans in all subject areas and grades when co-teaching classes. Lesson plans included living history presentations and web quests. Developed and implemented Individualized Education Programs (IEP), Behavior Improvement Plans (BIP) and 504 plans. Maintained running records of the students based on their goals and employed a variety of strategies based on the needs and successes of the individual students. Integrated social skills, cultural materials, various art pieces into lessons to increase student comprehension and cultural awareness. Lessons were also cross-curricular to increase student understanding and passion for learning.

Developed and carried out units of study in reading, writing, math and science. Units included preassessments, rubrics, student projects, formative assessments and summative assessments. Preassessments were used to create a differentiated unit based on the specific needs of the students. Designed and implemented a professional development session on the use of green screens in the classroom. The session included step-by-step instructions on how to complete a green screen project as well as examples of how to apply the technology to their lesson plans based on the common core. Volunteered to assist the Flamenco Dance Team by creating a promotional video that includes student and parent interviews, as well as videos of the students performing. Developed interdisciplinary lessons covering World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Civil Rights Movement for multi-age class. Including projects such as creating a Facebook poster for one of the leaders during WWI, where they discussed the family connections of the person, the major events in that persons life, described events that they were involved in and created posts that the person could have made, based on the event of his/her life. Ensured diversity through various first person sources and open discussions investigating how the people on all sides felt during that time and how their thinking changed over time. Designed a final project for the World War I based on Facebook to help students demonstrate what they had learned, see how interconnected the important figures of the time were, and connect it to the world they know

Worked at Fourth of July camp for mentally challenged adults, helping them perform small plays and create various art projects. Developed a summer theater program with handicapped students and performed them for migrant workers children. Taught astronomy and physics day camps for students ranging in age from elementary school to middle school Organized two-week summer theater program for thirty children ranging in ages from six to thirteen, teaching the students various theater techniques, helped them write their own play, assisted them in designing and creating their own costumes and sets and put on a final performance for friends and family.
