Hunter Gillett 4/23/2014 Exhibit: Benchmark: Skill: Promotion Project Individuality Self Confidence

My senior year I had the opportunity to be enrolled in the Jackson Area Career Center Sales and Marketing class. In this class I learned a lot of very important life lessons and things that will help me after I graduate. While being in this class I learned to invest myself into everything I do and not to think of my work as an assignment, but an investment instead. The projects I did in this class were a direct reflection on just how much I was investing myself. In this class I learned things through participating and doing several hands-on activities. Many assignments required me to speak in front of the class and present my ideas. Activities in this class helped me to come out of my shell and gain confidence in myself and my work. I learned more beneficial things in one year of this class than I have in all four years of class at my home school. During this class I was assigned a Promotion project. For this project I was required to pick a place and develop a promotional plan on how to attract tourism to that area. After I gathered all of my information I was required to present my plan to the class. Working hard on this project and investing myself into it provided me with confidence while I was presenting. Knowing that I was well educated about the topic made me feel proud about my work and my promotional plan.

The confidence that I gained while being in this class will help me immensely throughout the rest of my life. By investing myself into my work I will make a positive impact on my career and my future. The confidence that I have in myself will also help me to love and accept myself for who I am. Being proud of who I am as a person will improve my relationship with myself and with others as well. I will continue to be confident in myself and my work throughout my personal life and my career. By having confidence I will believe in myself and continue to succeed in life.
