This assignment demonstrates my understanding of the content and how to teach it.

It required me to complete research and develop my mathematical knowledge for teaching about a particular mathematics content area by developing a literature review of my chosen content area (Algebra) and critically discuss the AusVELS curriculum document in light of the literature. I also had to plan a unit of work for the content area (this part of the assignment is attached separately as a link below - EDMA360 Assessment 2 Gaining Insights from the Research for Classroom Planning).

Purpose: - To deepen mathematical knowledge for teaching about a content area of focus in EDMA310/360 - To develop skills for interpreting curriculum by comparing and contrasting information found within curriculum documents and mathematics education research - To design a unit of work that draws on information from research, lecture and tutorial materials Learning outcomes assessed: 1.
