Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection InTASC/NAEYC Standard: Standard #6: Assessment The teacher understands and uses

multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teachers and learners decision making. Brief Description of Evidence: As part of my EDUC 255, Multicultural Teaching class during the Spring 2014 semester, with a group I created a multicultural rating scale. I then had the chance to assess a school based on the scale created. Analysis of What I Learned: I learned through this project the importance of assessment. Not only is it important to assess the students, but also as an instructor it is important to assess yourself and your school on a regular basis. I learned by assessing yourself as an instructor and as a faculty of a school community you can have a better understanding of change take needs to take place in the school and in the classroom. How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC/NAEYC Standard: My competence in this standard is proven my ability to design assessments for myself and for the students. By knowing the InTASC Standards I understand the importance of monitoring learner progress and guiding myself as a teacher in the decision making progress.
