Greeting Parents!
My name is Mrs. Donnia Turner, also known as Mrs. D, and I will have the pleasure of working with your child this year as their History teacher. About Me: I reside in Atlanta with my family (husband and two daughters). I received my B.S. in Psychology and am currently pursuing my M.Ed. in Higher Education from Georgia Southern University. I have been in the academic setting for well over eight years and I love working with students, helping them to grow as young learners. I have many exciting things in store for your child this year and I am also looking forward to getting to know more about your him or her!

This Weeks Highlights
The first week of activities will be very light. We will spend time going through the course syllabus, understanding course expectations, and establishing ground rules for the classroom. We will also spend time getting to know one another, so I will incorporate activities that will require students to step outside of their comfort zones and learn about their fellow classmates. Throughout the course of the year, students will be required to complete several research assignments. With this being said, we will visit the school library during the first week to become oriented to the library and the various resources. Please be sure that your child has the required textbook and school supplies by the first day of school. At the beginning of class, students will be randomly given a number and will sit in the corresponding seat. If your child has concerns or special needs, please let me know and I will make accommodations Smart/White board
