What are the roles of leaders and what are their functions in an organisation?

Roles: The focus of every good workplace leader is keeping employees motivated and productive Develop strategic plan that exemplifies the companys philosophy Show and give support Leaders are responsible for constructing the companys policy. A communicator Leaders use all level of communication to reach out to staff, customers/ clients. They proactively encourage exchange of information. A thinker- Use strategic thinking that is understand how the different functions of the organisation work together . Learn the strengths and weakness of the organisation, opportunities and threats facing it. Understand how strategic objectives are influenced by current. A leader is a decision maker He / She is a team builder He/she is an image builder that is show fairness, integrity and professionalism in the organisation.

Functions of the leader : 1. Help interpret the meaning of events in the organisation 2. Create alignment on objectives and strategies 3. Build task commitment and optimism 4. Build mutual trust and coorperation 5. Strengthen collective identity 6. Organize and coordinate activities 7. Encourage and facilitate collective learning. 8. Obtain necessary resources and support 9. Develop and empower people

10. Promote social justice and morality.

The most fundamental role of a leader is to define the organisational goal, formulae plans and organize people to achieve the goal through the execution of plans. The function of the leader deals with: Vision - What to do? Strategy - How to achieve the vision? People - Who should carry out the strategy?
